iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) Order Thread

Still nothing for me...the UPS Hub in Louisville must have a ton of things to inspect...

No movement for me either! Although I did get a third “import scan” a bit ago. I’m not hopeful that means anything. 😕

I Facebook messaged UPS and they said it was still in customs and:

“it shows that due to global health events, your package delivery has been delayed.

We are experiencing high volume of packages, We are working through the volume as quickly as we can, please keep on tracking.“ 🙄

I had emailed UPS earlier and they finally got back to me and said I should consider my package lost because it hasn’t moved for three days and to fill out a claim form. But when I try to fill it out it says the package is still in transit. 🙄

Then I chatted with Apple and the CS said to not worry about it and to only contact them if the package wasn’t moving. I told them it hasn’t moved and they said to give it another day or so. 🙄

UPS tracking still shows that my iMac is due to arrive by the end the day TODAY. 🙄

I said I would *try* to be patient. Obviously I didn’t try very hard. 😜

Then with the chatter around kernel panics happening I’m starting to have buyer’s remorse before it even arrives. Fingers crossed those are the exception!

I hope everyone else’s new iMacs arrive quickly and work well! ☺

I've had this happen before with other shipments. In the end even though the delivery day was passed and there was not an update on a new delivery date, I still eventually received it. Hang in there. I feel your frustration.

I’ve been waiting over a year to purchase a new computer and now I’m struggling to wait an extra day for it to be delivered. Hahahaha!

Got my iMac arriving today after a week of deciding/reading every post on the forum. While I was going to get an upgraded model i decided to go tier 3 with a massive discount from the edu store. Also got external 500gb nvme and 16gb ram on order. Looking forward to using a bigger screen and dgpu compared with my base 2015 MacBook Pro 15. Figured it was likely best time to transition as I need boot camp and resell value will likely drop once AS arrives.

After being stuck in Shanghai and Narita for 5 days, mine is now moving quickly and has been rescheduled for delivery to California later today(?). Having a hard time believing it, but we'll see.

I feel your pain. Mines been sitting there since the 14th. Had a third "Import Scan" last night. My delivery estimate has been 19-21 Aug all along, hopefully it will move tonight and make it here on the 19th.

My August 12th order went from Processing to Preparing to Ship, to Shipped, all yesterday. Posting an Aug 25th delivery date from China. Original delivery date was Sept 4 - 14.

My August 13 order just shipped via FedEx from China. Apple says delivery is the 26th which is much better than the September 4th-14th estimate while FedEx still says pending.

Mine is still processing with a due date of 26th August.

As I am expecting it to leave Ireland, then go to Cologne, followed by an expedition to the South Pole before coming to the Uk, I think it may be a day or two late.

So at least one who ordered from the 5th with a numeric keypad is moving along. That must mean it's the 4TB SSD that's holding my order up, as that's the only other BTO option I chose. Either that, or plain bad luck.

Alors, so mine sits pretty in Shanghai, CN - At local Fedex Facility for the past two days. Fedex has no delivery estimate. Apple says next Monday. I had wished for sooner, since my 128GB RAM just got delivered yesterday.

Amazon Prime really has spoiled us.

My iMac arrived in Louisville overnight after being stuck in Shanghai and Narita for a few days. UPS says it will be delivered today but it won't be since it hasn't departed Louisville. I'm guessing it'll still be a couple of days before it arrives.

The good news is that my OWC RAM and Monoprice 27" 4K monitor arrived yesterday.

I called this morning for my August 10th ordered and the man on the phone was able to tell me I will get the invoice on Friday (so mostlikely they will charge me on that day) and then they will ship it on Monday and I will receive on Wednesday... I literally just upgraded for a 1TB SSD (plus Numeric Keyboard and Track Pad) I don't get why it takes so much time to prepare...

My order from the 6th is still processing, the charge hit my card yesterday but no update on the order. I also have the 4TB SSD and extended keyboard. In doing an new order to see dates, I found that selecting the 4TB or 8TB SSD pushed a new order out to the end of Sept. Must be supply issues on the chips or motherboards.

My custom iMac ordered August 4 arrived at the UPS Worldport in Louisville last night, the delivery date was changed to Thursday August 20. This morning I check again and see that the delivery date was pushed up to tomorrow, the 19th. It hasn't moved out of Louisville yet but probably soon. I logged into UPS MyChoice and changed my delivery to hold for pickup as their customer/sorting facility for my area isn't that far from me.
