iMac shipping status?

It did arrive at 9:30 Wed. the 29th.:D:D
Shanghai Time the 30th.
So your delivery may be a day earlier than the Fedex post indicates (if your Mac is coming from Shanghai).

I will be setting it up in a few minutes and I will let you know how it went.

what would be acceptable to ask from apple if your order is actually late shipping off??? i'm just curious as to what people think about this

Mine was 1 day late in shipping off and still made it 1 day before it was due (based from the original estimated time at Apple's website).

I would ask for "no charge" shipping upgrade. To 2nd day or next day even. If they offered some form of compensation beyond that, freebeis?, I might try to work something out. Although I am not too interested in what they have been offering in some of the previous posts I have read. I am not enamored with a wireless key board or mouse, so who knows. I would prefer it not come to that.

Lucky! Mine went from Anchorage to Indianapolis during the night, apparently, so I guess mine will still arrive tomorrow.
 
For those still waiting

Here are the first two pictures. This is the first time I have seen a 24" iMac! :eek: Wow! This thing is HUGE!
Exterior is spot on, no dents & scratches. Second pic shows what's in the box.
I now will plug it up and see what it looks like inside.

That was exactly the fedex route mine went so I believe its on its way up the coast to you. Let us know when you receive it.

Out for delivery ... but will it make it?

I ordered a 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM, wired keyboard & wireless MM on the 11th. I spent days checking the order status then harassing the couriers TNT who fianlly told me it would deliver on Monday the 27th. I told them I would be out of town till Wednesday so we agreed it would be delivered on Thursday (today in NZ).
On Monday I got voicemail asking where the address was. I didn't reply, instead I emailed my original contact asking what was going on. No reply. On Tuesday I got another voicemail and then a call saying they couldn't find my address so I explained where I lived but that I wasn't expecting it till Thursday. That was cool with the dispatcher. On Tuesday I finally got an email reply saying "All sorted" A bit late but OK.

Now it's "Out for Delivery" but will it get here? Can they find me?
About 10 minutes ago a rental van pulled up and started turning around. As it turned I got a glimpse in the back window. It was full of packages. I got excited. Then it drove off down the street, stopped for 30 seconds a few houses down and finally drove off.

I don't know if it was for me or not. The van did not have TNT livery but I've had some bad experiences with courier drivers recently and I'm now waiting for an "Exception" to pop up on the tracking page.

Should I have run out to a random rental van on the street and said "Are you TNT?"

i've been stairing at the page all day until i took a break to watch a movie and i come back and it says prepared for shipment :D my first ship day is tomorrow the 30th so maybe apple is finally catching up on everything

Mine was shipped 1 day late and Apple gave me a $100 credit and free upgrade to 2day shipping...

Not too bad in my opinion... They took care of their customer and you can bet they will have my business in the future (It is obvious that I will buy Apple products in the future, but I will make it a point to order from the Apple store b/c of how well I was treated).

P.S. Mine is scheduled to come tomorrow... It has been stuck on
Int'l shipment release INDIANAPOLIS, IN for about 20 hours now...

Hopefully it ships soon... Supposed to be at my door by 10:30AM tomorrow.
 
Switching and couldn't be happier...

This is my first post here! I've been lurking anonymously since about May waiting for the iMacs to update. I'm a soon to be switcher. Vista combined with my mac-fanboy friend has convinced me to switch over to the good side:cool:

Ordered my 20" 2.4GHz iMac on Monday, set to ship starting tomorrow!!! Can't wait to get it unpacked and leave the windows world forever!!!

Heres hoping it comes before uni gets busy...

I noticed many of you ordered your iMac several days before me and your are still waiting. I decided to call Apple sales on Aug 13th to find out when their stores were going to get more and they said they were on order. The guy on the phone offered to order me one and I asked what's the difference between ordering it online and ordering it over the phone with him.
He said that my shipping would be handled by him exclusively as opposed to nobody keeping a close eye on it if ordered on the website. I think the sales over the phone gets commission for taking the orders.
Well I decided to order with him the 2.8 model iMac and the shipping came through today and I was expecting it tomorrow.

In conclusion I am ordering over the phone with a person from now on and I would recommend that to everyone else. Good luck!

Oh, I'm positive they're on commission. I phoned up to ask a few questions and he kept pushing "you ready to place your order with me???" Even offered to phone me back later if I needed some time to think it over!

To be honest, I'm in sales and I go the extra mile for my clients so I would much rather work with someone in Apple's phone sales that's on commission because he/she will make sure the sale goes through smoothly and it did for me and another poster earlier quoted me saying he's had 100% positive results ordering over the phone with Apple.

Sometimes when people are not on commission they just don't care.
