iMac shipping status?

Finally I can transfer over from going to the Apple website 100 times a day to now going to the Fedex website 100 times a day. It shipped today.

System: 24" iMac - 2.8Ghz Processor - 500 GB HD - 4GB RAM

Order date: August 22nd.
Ship Date: August 30th.
Estimated Arrival: September 4th.

Can't wait to get this thing. This combined with the hope of new iPods on September 5th could make September 7th-9th a really great weekend!

How much did it weigh, I trying to figure out if both my systems shipped. Thanks!
 
Went from "ready to ship" to "in transit" this morning.

So far I have no projected delivery date. I am guessing next Tuesday, the 4th, what with the holiday weekend and all.

As previously stated, at least now I can check a different site throughout the day. I almost have my tracking number memorized.
 
Joining the club

of folks who are switching back to Mac (last one I had was the Mac Plus), and who's iMac has just shipped. 8/30 10:42 am picked up from Shanghai. Anyway it gets here (southern California) before the weekend?

I know it's a long shot, but my iPod just got here in two days from Shanghai. I can't wait.

Now back to work (aka refreshing the FedEx site every 20 minutes)...

Don't check the website that often. The shipping will take much longer. If you leave it alone for at least half the day things will change. Be patient.:)

mine was picked up from shanghi at 4:05 pm and left the origin at 4:18 pm. Which i think is going to be there time. I've even added the shanghi time to my phone so i can track it. I wish mine would get here saturday but i get the feeling it will be arriving tuesday

since last thursday it was refresh the apple page every 20 to 30 minutes. Now its refresh fedex every 20 to 30 minutes
 
Just got off the phone with Apple re: the 36 hour delay of my iMac shipping and they comped my Canon printer for the inconvenience of it not arriving before the holiday weekend. Definitely helps ease the pain and Apple CS is great!
 
Couldn't be more disappointed

Wow.. Couldn't be more disappointed with Apple. My package shipped out on Wednesday (or it was supposed to). It went out but they got it to the carrier too late so it didn't get there till Thursday in reality and instead of getting 2 day service I'm going to get it next Wednesday.

Kind of disappointing....

you should get it tuesday at least.

kkat69, you, and me are in the same boat-see my comment above re: this shipment delay. The Apple CS was really apologetic...don't know what exactly happened, but it appears to be a FedEx problem, more than Apple. In any case, we're all three in GA (I'm in Savannah) and we're all three stuck waiting thru the long holiday :(

Might want to give Apple a call-they really do try to please and it can't hurt!
 
Yes! My 24", 2.8 Ghz, 1TB iMac is In Transit as of this morning! Ordered on the 17th, est. shipped 8/28-8/31, actually shipped 30th. Est. delivery the 4th (after the holiday weekend :-( )
 
Waiting, too

:mad: Looks like several of us have to wait the holidays. My 2.8 500 gig 1 gig ram shipped on 8-29 but FedEx says delivery on 9-6. Call Apple to complain, as had paid for expedited delivery. Rep says if not delivered on 9-5, will refund.
 
They're already refunding the money but it's not the point. It's disappointing and they should try a little harder to meet their promises. It would be different if I didn't pay for the shipping as well as if they would have gotten the package there on time. I put the blame, maybe unrightfully so, on Apple for not getting the package to FedEx on time.

Wow! We could probably light up a small city with all the angst generated from waiting for a delivery of our orders. ;)
