I'm curious. Is there any other way to change an order other than canceling it and making a new one?
Because that's what I did when I accidentally ordered the wrong keyboard. But that brought up an issue with my debit card and I couldn't make a new order for 3 days.

I'm thinking about upping my CPU to a 2.8GHz.

It's Here

My new 24" imac has arrived... it is amazing... no glare:) I was very worried... I will have pics later:):D

I am amazed how something could be in China on Saturday and in my home in PA on Monday...

Nope, I called Apple and they cancelled the order and placed a new one. I thought that would make it take longer but with free ground shipping it still got here ridiculously fast. My order status even showed the cancelled and new order.

Edit: I went with the 2.8.

I'm just hoping for no dead pixel/other screen issue i.e. yellowing or condensation, etc/or loud fan/odd humming/abnormally hot sort of issues. Funny you read about so many of those but there must be 100s or 1000s of those that have no issues. I just don't want to deal with having to send it in for repair or replacement. I have no worries about the gloss but I have a dark office with a shade that is always down. Only the halogen track lights could be an issue but I doubt it.

Just phoned up TNT, and the reason for the Potential Connection Delay is due to the plane being loaded up after they could be signed off, and therefore had to be offloaded.

Doesn't make any sense to me either, but TNT said it should be delayed by only 1 day and should be arriving around the 17th where I am in the UK (Leeds).

You rock

Thank you to everyone who figured out that the wireless keyboard was the delay! I called today and removed that, and my order will be here by the end of August at the latest. Much better.

Canada - 24" 2.8 750GB 2GB RAM

My order was shipped on Friday and got here this morning by 9:00am with standard ground shipping. That is amazing!!! In China on Friday and in my hands on Monday morning. Way to go FedEX and APPLE!!! BTW, I have the 2.8ghz version and I cant wait to start using it. Im transferring my stuff to it right now!!!

I have two questions:

1) When I look at my Order Status online and click "Print all Invoices" it has my iPod and Apple Care listed on the invoice but no computer. Could this be due to the fact that my iMac is "Not yet shipped." still? It worries me that the iMac hasn't been charged yet, though it says it on Order Status page. it's like on one page the iMac doesn't exist but it does on another. I'm confused.

and

2) How long (generally) does it take for an iMac to be shipped once it says "Prepare for shipment."? How long after "Shipped." to the doorstep?

The wait/speculation is killing me!!!

Thanks

Torrid

According to FedEx, mine left Shanghai this morning at 10:27 a.m. I guess it won't be here 'til tomorrow or Wednesday. I got the overnight shipping, so when they said it shipped yesterday, I was hoping it'd be here today. Oh well, I can be patient........I guess.

1. It won't print an invoice till it ships.

2. Mine said prepared late Thur/early Fri and shipped by the end of Fri. Delivery on free standard ground, expect 2-4 days, mine always takes 3. Weekends are hard to figure in since they don't count as Business Days, but when coming from China I guess it keeps moving.

I ordered last night and the main iMac page said ships in 3-5 days. I clicked "buy" and it went to 5-7. I'm looking at Aug 20-28 for delivery for stock machine...but I should have it before then, right??

As of 9-10 am this morning it was prepped for shipment.

It's now almost 4am in China. I hope it leaves there in the next 14 hours *crosses fingers* So it leaves there at around 3pm their time, it be 3am here.

If all goes well I'll hopefully have it before noon Wednesday, if not Thursday.

Atleast I'm home all day both days :D

Oh well. Just noticed that it's already prepared for shipment. I guess I can always return it once it gets here. I'll be able to get some 2.8 benchmarks before then.

I usually skip CPU upgrades by practice since it's always too little for too much. But I later realised that this one might actually be worth the money.
I don't think it will do much for my graphics work, ram is more important there. But for the music production it can results in quite a few extra plugins.

Let's see how the benchmarks turn out.

roland, thank you for your words. They have yet again put my mind at rest. Hopefully it ships by tomorrow at the latest, then I should have it by Friday.

Just wondering how long a delivery takes to get to the UK once its actually left Shanghai?

Ive got a question. I live in canada and ive ordered the iMac since last tuesday. and well thursday the 9th they shipped it and by saturday the 11th at 6hpm they said it has departed from their fedex location in Memphis TN. and well its been that way since. they havent updated the site and it was expected to arrive the 14th before 6hpm. Im just wondering if the fedex site just forgot to update the tracking or does it really take 2 days to ship from memphis to montreal...help please :( im getting worried.

Got my 2.8 today, and now a new waiting game starts. :( Dead/stuck pixels, so it is going back FedEx tomorrow (if I get the email to print the return label by the end of the day) and then I probably won't see my replacement arrive until next Mon or Tues. I don't think it will happen by Fri.

8:54AM GMT+8 (Tuesday) / 20:54 PM GMT-5 (Monday), my new iMac has been with Fedex, only news I got.

Apple expects it too be here by Friday :(

Anything is possible, it could be here Wednesday-Thursday at 8 or 10:30 :)

My iMac 24" is also in the same shipment, and it's gotten even worse! Now the TNT tracking says:

14 août 2007 17:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Connection Delay
12 août 2007 09:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Connection Delay

Unbelievable! My estimated delivery date was for this Thursday (Paris), don't think they will make it...

Looks like mine is stuck there too and expected delivery is still 13 days away. Its pretty frustrating to have ordered so quickly after the announcement and to have to wait for a few weeks to get delivery!

Patience is a virtue...
