tHe BB actually doesn't matter anymore, it should have activated.

You have blobs for 5.1.1?
Actually I forgot to do it! So I'm stuck to the notorious 6.0 now! And BTW , the TMobile card I am using right now is a prepaid card and I haven't used it for quite sometime, maybe that's the problem! Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate that!

Hey, guys:
My iPhone 4 purchased from ebay 2 years ago, was locked to AT&T. I purchased unlock service from Unlock Fusion via EBay for 6.86 bucks! And they did get back to me within 3 hours said that my iPhone 4 is "unlocked" . I have checked at least 4 other " iPhone status check " websites besides their own check site. They all showed " unlocked " . But when I performed the unlock procedure. I tried so many many times with no luck! Still showed " no service " when put TMobile micro sim card in( cut by myself ) when restored! But iTunes did showed up my TMobile phone number! Any suggestions ? BTW Unlock Fusion did send me unlocked message within reasonable time with a really good price, though. Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks! :(

Your iPhone is unlocked. It wouldn't activate with a non-AT&T SIM if it were still locked. Prepaid SIMs expire in 90 days unless you buy the $100 plan. I once reupped $100 on my prepaid SIM just to find out my number was no longer attached to my SIM card, so the balance was transferred to another SIM on my old number.

But will the iPhone showed up " No Service"?

I just had to unlock 2 iPhone fives, and I tried *****.com ($30) and iunloc.kr ($45) - they both worked as promised, to my surprise.

(Edit - updated with prices, and the censored website starts with an i and ends with an l)

I went through unlock fusion, and received an email stating my phone was unlocked within 12 hours.

However, when I restore the phone (from 5.1.1 to 6.0), the phone would not activate. It kept giving me the message that the phone could not be activated at this time. Has anyone gone through this?

I am not stuck with an iphone that cannot be activated and thus cannot even get to the normal home screen. Emailed Unlock Fusion but did not get a response yet... any help would be appreciated.. Thanks.

You need a sim to activate in iOS6
That is an Apple requirement, it has zero to do with the unlock you purchased.

If it is an A4 or older, restore it if you saved 5.1.1 hashes, then the unlock will be applied.

Too late now, but a little reading here would have yielded this method to apply the unlock, which would have kept you jailbroken and still on 5.1.1

Thanks for the reply, I actually read this :)

point being JB was of little use to me anyway and I wanted to go up to ios6, thus decided to upgrade to 6.0.

I had sim in the phone and it still would not activate, whether it was original sim or foreign sim.

knowing this might be stuck for a while until i get the phone replaced, would it be possible to hactivate this phone once JB comes out?

This could actually be a hardware failure on your iPhone as you have determined. I would reboot the iPhone as that always works when I've had that error.

So if I use unlock fusion they can unlock my iphone 5? How would i check if it is unlocked. Do I just restore it and it will say congrats iphone unlocked. Or do i need a foreign sim (a sim from another carrier ) in order to check if it was actually unlocked.

Found another seller who does unlocks on the weekends :D Ordered one at 10:35am and came thru just now at 3:25pm

You'll get the message in iTunes saying, "congratulations your iPhone is now unlocked"

If you like to double check afterwards, enter your IMEI number here: http://s-url.ro/

You'll get an error message when you plug it into iTunes saying your iPhone could not be activated. Then the iPhone will respring and you'll be unlocked. If you get a SIM card not recognized error in iTunes, then it isn't unlocked, but you'll only get that if you're using an off-carrier SIM.

Lock?

Have a different question: can the various sites actually lock (back) the phone?

IOW, is giving one's own IMEI number to various sites, then not proceeding with the unlock for some reasons (eg expensive), taking any risk of having the phone locked back later?

(read in the thread that it happened to someone - so I'm wondering if seeding the IMEIs everywhere is a good idea  )

Two ways for the iPhones to relock:

1)AT&T checks the IMEI and determines that it shouldn't have been unlocked(conditions may vary)

2)Customer files chargeback on unlock payment to unlock site. Unlock site contacts AT&T insider to relock iPhone.

99% of them won't ever be relocked and with the cost approaching $5, the risk is minimal.

I'm sure someone has mentioned it but Unlock_Fusion on eBay is doing unlocks for all iPhone's (including iPhone 5, I've done it) for $5-$8.

Has anyone seen a good deal for O2 UK IMEA unlocking. I unlocked my ATT phone with unlock fusion for $6.00 but the best price I can find for my 4S O2 is $90.

So, has anyone been able to successfully unlock their Canadian iPhones. M planning to buy one and plan to unlock it as well..
