Help

Hello,

I purchased an unlocked service for my iPhone 4 on ebay. After a few days, the seller send me an e-mail saying my iPhone was unlock. I checked on iphoneox.com and it says it is unlocked and verify in other sites, and all of them say the device is unlocked. I did a restore but after that, itunes tells me "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported"

I just check iphoneox.com and it says my iphone is unlocked. What can I do?

Sounds like your phone is unlocked, congrats.

Not sure what sim card you have, but I believe there are a few out there that will not allow iPhones and some other smartphones on their network.

What Sim are you trying to use?

Hello Eric, I'm using a Micro SIM card from TIGO Colombia. I also tried with a Movistar sim but no luck.

Sorry, I don't know anything about carriers in Colombia. This is a pretty large forum here, so I am sure there are others here who can help you.

It is possible that Micro and Movistar don't allow phones that they don't support on their network.

Good luck.

@SirAguilera

I am not sure why you are facing a problem. Because i too had got my iPhone 3GS unlocked and since i did not have any active US SIM (i am in USA at present), i used my Inactive India SIM and the phone activated fine with that SIM and i also got the congrats message.

Has anyone had luck w/ any of these IMEI unlock sites with their at&t iPhone 5?

Unlock Swisscom

I want to Unlock an iPhone 4 from Swisscom. Can anyone give me any advice on how this might be done? The only service that I have found is this one: http://www.unlockaniphone.org

I am not convinced that they are legitimate, because they offer two options. One reads, 'Switserland (misspelt) Swisscom, 119 USD' and the other 'Switzerland Swisscom 139 USD'.

This one works..

I used http://www.iphonefactoryunlocks.com in the past. They can unlock the iPhone 5 too. They usually do it within 24 hours even if you pay for the 36 hour one. You can always call AT&T and they might just unlock your phone for you if you've been a customer for a while and your bill is paid on time.

AT&T has unlocked my iPhone 3gs, 4 and 4s and 5 nd I've never gotten a congrats message on the phone or on iTunes. lol. I think someone is making up stories.

I took your advise and ran with it. I'll report back once I know if my 5 (with AT&T) has been unlocked.

I've been w/ the carrier for a very long time w/ a perfect track record.

Got the confirmation a couple hours ago that my iPhone 5 is now unlocked. That was much faster than their advertised 36 hours.

It's impossible to find micro SIM that's non-att around here (in San Francisco).

Ebay is the safest and usually cheapest method. If your phone if from a different country, try searching the country specific ebay site.

Just used unlock_fusion to get my new-to-me iPhone 4 IMEI unlocked. Bought the 12-24 hour version and, honestly, the best $8 I ever spent! Unlock code came back in precisely 75 minutes (though YMMV). Didn't need to backup/restore as per the instructions, but phone did need to be connected thru iTunes (for verification?). Happy bunny! :D

Oh, and by-the-by...decided to stop at the T-Mobile shop and get a micro SIM, since I didn't fancy trying to cut up my old SIM (one of the ones with the large circuit footprint). Didn't charge me a sausage and new SIM was good / old SIM was dead by the time I got back to my office like 15 minutes later.

I've been checking out several sites mentioned here in this threat but every one says that the iPhone 4S need to be at least 2 years old before it can be unlocked when purchased with through T-Mobile Germany. Does anyone know why and even better any solution around this?

if i get my att phone unlocked but dont switch carriers until a few months from now I can still use it for att right? just as long as i dont switch sims but when I do need to switch I can just do so

been stalking this thread...

I've been stalking this thread for quite some time now. Finally decided to make an account, but anyways; I decided to go with http://www.unlockstation.com just because they had great customer service and relatively cheap price. Got an iPhone 5 unlocked in under 2 hours :)

Unlock Fusion on Ebay works perfectly....$8.46
Got the the unlock in less than 24 hr.

Plug into Itune and Restore....Itune said...your phone is now unlock

Does this work for the iPhone 5? I don't see why everyone doesn't do this if the unlock is so cheap and it lasts forever (even thru updates)

That site probably works for iPhone 5's assuming it's all the same price, but I haven't tested it yet. They just unlocked my 4s in 5 minutes. People don't know about these unlocks like they don't know that you can get a food stamp debit card if you and your household make under $10k a year or so the same day you apply at one of the welfare offices. You can also apply online.
