Very soon.Any word on when we may see 4.0.2? I love Infuse... but the playback issues aren't so fun to deal with.
Disappointing news: Per Firecore forum...
On the bright side, 4.0.2 is unbelievably good.
They've acknowledged the bug and said they intend to fix it. No point in dwelling on it, just have some patience. Maybe try an alternative app until the fix is implemented? As an AirPlay speaker user, 4.0.2 might be perfect, but still can't be used with the 2000ms audio delay. It's nerve wracking. Imagine just trying to "watch" a 1-2 hour video with audio/video distinctly out of sync.
And there is no time indication from Firecore of when this bug will be fixed. "On the roadmap" is an appropriate answer for an enhancement, NOT for a bug. Based on the length of time from .1 to .2, Airplay speaker users won't be able to utilize Infuse directly on ATV4, until February, at the earliest.
It is one of the easiest, quick code fixes in Tvos. To me, the lovely UI enhancements like custom art work for favorites that is in 4.0.2 should come after ensuring playability. Apple directly addressed this delay for developers from the outset of Tvos. Hence, no problems with other apps or when there is, it's fixed, usually within the week.
Guess I expected more of Firecore. So, yes, I am disappointed and will be until I can use 4.0.2...but of course that's not possible, it will have to be 4.0.3 or higher.
Waiting two months or more to be able to utilize a relatively, higher priced app is totally unacceptable.
Yes, they did acknowledge and stated they would look into it over three weeks ago. Release 4.0.2 was sent to Apple this week. This very easy fix wasn't included. They've acknowledged the bug and said they intend to fix it. No point in dwelling on it, just have some patience. no, you can request a refund if you dont like the pro versionJust downloaded the free version and have been really impressed. I'm considering the paid version now but had a question first.
When I try to play my Blu-Ray mkvs the app displays an upgrade prompt so I can stream ac3. Is there a way to bypass this (stereo sound or something) so I can test how well the app streams mkvs? I have NAStify but it pauses once every minute or so to buffer for three seconds. I wouldn't think it's a problem with my setup as I have both the HDD and Apple TV wired into the AirPort Extreme.
Unfortunately not. You can however try downloading one of the sample clips from the link below. These all contain AAC audio, and should play just fine in the free version.Just downloaded the free version and have been really impressed. I'm considering the paid version now but had a question first.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there any palns to support dvd - bd iso, bd and dvd folders?
Pretty sure mine is one of the "n" versions. It still works great so I'd have trouble convincing the wife that we need a new one.Unfortunately not. FWIW, we've had no trouble streaming ~30GB Blu-ray files (especially in the upcoming 4.0.2 version). One thing to keep in mind is that you may actually see faster network speeds when using Wi-Fi (if you have a newer Airport Extreme that supports 802.11ac) as the ethernet port on the Apple TV is only 10/100.
I can only assume it's a feature to incentivize people to purchase the pro version. I just wish it had a one-day trial or something. Coming from Android the lack of trial periods on Apple's app stores is annoying. Why is Firecore requiring an upgrade to play AC3 on ATV4? There should not be any Dolby license fees for Infuse to pay for playing AC3 on ATV4.
Quote from an ATV4/IOS video developer, when TVOS was being released: "As for AC3/AC3-HD, the ATV4/TVOS carries the license for that. iOS devices do not."
Lifting this restriction would allow new users to fully test Infuse (ATV4 only) on free version for many more formats, to ensure proper video/audio playability via Infuse, before upgrading.
Maybe, but to me, the incentive should be proper playback on the free version. Instead of requiring purchase, then user tests and then user has to request refund from Apple (if applicable). PITA.I can only assume it's a feature to incentivize people to purchase the pro version. I just wish it had a one-day trial or something. I upgraded to 4.0.2. and the playback is much better on start/restart times. In the past the MPEG 4 videos would take 3-4 seconds to start/restart. Now they are pretty much instant. And the MPEG 2 which was about 15 seconds are now around 4 seconds. I mainly use MPEG 2 (recorded tv) so of course I would prefer they work like the MPEG 4. I would normally assume that it is simply because of MPEG 2 but your competitor does not have that problem. MrMC is instant for start/restart of MPEG 2 much like your MPEG 4. But to be fair their UI is really really poor. Do you think you will at some point support MPEG 2 like you do MPEG 4 (instant start/restart)? They also have a FF x2/x4/x8 etc. while showing where you are. This is helpful to skip commercials. What would be helpful with yours is when you are swiping left and right thru a file it would show the picture (at least when you slow to a stop) so you know when to continue. Especially with the 4 second delay to restart it takes much longer to skip a commercials which is the main use of the feature for me.4.0.2 for Apple TV was just approved and will be rolling out on the store shortly.
Here's what's new in 4.0.2
- Major playback improvements
- Faster playback start/seek times
- Custom artwork for favorites (use favorite.png or favorite-atv.png)
- Added more zoom options (for removing encoded black bars)
- Added sort by filename option
- Improved sorting for files like 'Toy Story', 'Toy Story 2' and 'Toy Story 3'
- Improved metadata refetching if initial attempt failed with a network error
- Improved metadata fetching efficiency
- Add Favorites via iOS Remote app (tap right side of touch screen)
- Long press to rename/remove Favorites
- Version number displayed in settings
- A handful of other minor improvements and fixes
Yes - there are still some opportunities for improvement in this area, and we will continue to optimize things in future updates.Do you think you will at some point support MPEG 2 like you do MPEG 4 (instant start/restart)?
I can appreciate this feature is important to you, and it's definitely on our radar as an item to address. Barring any complications, it should be resolved in the next update for Apple TV.These problems will continue to exist until Infuse support for AIRPLAY is added. Probably, other file types will have similar problems, but these are the only types available to me for testing.

I am having the same problem but not always. Maybe after it "looses" the content. If you exit out and then come right back in it is fast. But after a while it is not. Like if the App Reloads. Is that your experience?4. Still seems to take excessive time to load share(s).
