Can you see there ever being support for video with Flac audio? I have a handful of BDs I have ripped with Flac and they are only being seen as 2.0. I've noticed this is the case with every video app I've tried, so maybe a limitation of the ATV.
Hm, I haven't actually checked if FLAC comes out as multi-channel, since my ATV4 is connected to my downstairs TV that is set up for stereo only. I'll try connecting it to my main system with surround and report back.

FWIW, after updating manually to 4.0.2 (somehow my ATV didn't automatically update the app before), the playback problems I had in earlier versions with MKVs that I ripped from my old HD-DVDs seem to be gone. These include high-bitrate H.264 or VC-1 video and FLAC audio streams. Well done!
Great to hear! :)

Yes, this is something we're hoping to support once we implement multi-channel LPCM transcoding, which we're hoping to tackle rather soon. ;)

I cannot change the folders on the Apple TV app. I have a Western Digital MyCloud that Infuse is able to find, add the folders as Favorites, and each folder has an image file in it. I've tried favorite.png, favorite-atv.png, and folder.png. None of them work. I've also tried long-pressing the remote and forcing the artwork refresh, still with no success. Am I doing something wrong?

The iOS app has the ability to play files from wireless flash drives. Any plans to add this ability to the Apple TV app?

My set-up also and exactly the same result. Can't change favorite name and png file not displaying.

Are you streaming via UPnP by chance? Unfortunately UPnP/DLNA devices won't make artwork files available to Infuse, as they only 'share' the folders/videos themselves.

Yes, Infuse for Apple TV supports the same streaming options that are available on iOS.

Does the Pro version work with HEVC files?
HEVC is not officially supported at this time. Sorry.

We're looking into a few reports of this. Still many improvements to come. ;)
Are you planning to maintain the iOS Version with the same changes? I have not used the iOS version much but I think it had the same performance start/restart problems as the tvOS version.

Yes - 4.0 for iOS will be out later this month, and since they share the same codebase updates for both will usually be released at the same time.

I had this problem using SMB shares. To fix it I manually removed all the favourites from within the share, added them again, then force refreshed the artwork using the long press. Artwork for the favourites now works.

Streaming from SMB

Thank you very much, as I was also using SMB shares and couldn't get it to work.

Also found the key sequence to rename. DO NOT press Rename at first. Long Press, highlight name, click, edit in place, done, rename.

Hmm, interesting.

We'll take a look at that, but glad you're up and running. ;)

DivX has never been officially supported, though in past builds, some of these videos happened to work. However, in 4.0.2 certain DivX features (and the Xvid equivalents) have been disabled for compatibility reasons. We're looking into ways to get them working again for a future version.

I appreciate the effort that went into addressing the playback/stuttering issues, but to remove functionality without any notice just seems like bad business. All of my .avi files worked flawlessly before 4.0.2. Now, well over half will not play. If I had known that would be the case, I wouldn't have updated. Your silence on this issue on the FireCore.com forums is rather deafening. I hope that this will be addressed ASAP and not put on the back burner, as your post implies.

They have said it several times that it has never been supported!

I think the problem is some AVI files can be containers for actual DIVX content - but they don't have to be - they could contain other formats. So, it seems with this version, AVIs that contain DIVX content don't work, while AVIs that don't contain DIVX content will.

Well, that's a little disappointing. I'll be looking into other media apps until this is fixed, as most of my videos require DivX compatibility.
My assessment of other (non-server) apps supporting Divx:

MrMc and OneVideo - UI is complex and problems using Siri remote, as intended.
VLC - No AC3 support and no favorites. Too new.

NAStify - Favorites, plays AC3, ease of use with Siri remote, Airplay delay support and very simple UI. Also, option to delete SMB files, list or grid view, and more. No artwork yet, however, Dev is now working on adding audio passthrough. Good communication lines with Dev.

Any others you have found?

I wasn't aware of NAStify. Will have to check it out tonight. Hopefully it can replace Infuse for my .avi files. Thanks!

I've been using MrMC, its pretty much the same as Kodi. The UI isn't as attractive as Infuse's but it gets the job done, it can play anything you can throw at it and works in metadata nicely.

MrMC is much better with latest release with the Amber Skin. You can also delete files which is helpful when using to watch recordings. Infuse is still best UI but still a bit slow for MPEG2 files compared to the others and you can't delete files. NAStify has very similar UI to VLC and allows to delete files. I have had some problems with playback of SMB MPEG2 files after pause, rew,FF.
