Ok., thanks.
Yes, Serviio is DLNA/UPnP. Will check the situation by using SMB.
Maybe it also has an positive influence on the sync issues.

I testet and compared now SMB connection with my former Serviio connection.
What shall I say? Yes, indeed at the ATV4 there is a Library, nice to have.
But: first of all connecting problems, very, very slow in everything I do via SMB. It took 20-30 minutes till my complete folder with about 60 movies was indicated.Ok., this might be a typical MacOs-SMB problem:
https://dpron.com/os-x-10-11-5-slow-smb/

Some video formats didn`t start (mpg) at all, the start of some other videos took more than 60 seconds.
And some other strange issues...
So I`m very glad that I started accidently my first tests with infuse a via Serviio - otherwise I`d never bought the app possibly.
Not to blame you or your app - but in my specific device constellation with a Mac SMB works horribly...

And: also with SMB I notice my mentioned sync problems of corrected artworks between the several devices...
Ok., guys, want to bother you anymore... it is like it is... and I`m going to live with that circumstances.
Maybe some update in future will fix my specific issues.

Regarding folders, we've found it's fairly commonplace for people to place videos (along with any supporting files like artwork, subtitles, etc...) into their own unique folders. So, instead of displaying a wall of gray folder artwork, Infuse will 'flatten' these folders and show them as playable items with full artwork.

With regard to network speed, the absolute fastest way to connect the ATV4 will be to use 802.11ac Wi-Fi. This will provide near gigabit speeds, which in our tests allow ~30GB lossless MKVs to start playing almost instantly. An ethernet connection also works ok, but since the Apple TV does not support gigabit speeds, the load times will be a bit longer.

Lastly, the upcoming version of Infuse will improve playback for some Blu-ray formats which (up until now) have seen very limited support in Infuse and other Apple TV player apps. These are big changes, which move Infuse closer to providing reference level playback quality for almost all formats. :)
OK, here's a feedback after I did the following:

- Sold my old non-gigabit/802.11ac router (DIR-809), and bought the Archer C8 v2 (I read an user saying it had connectivity issues with the v1). The Archer was 2, 2.5 times more expensive, but it's a gigabit router.

- First of all, the upload speeds inside my network remained the same. Then I discovered that a new cable needs to be used. I used the CAT 5-E that came with the router (to be attached to the ISP modem), and a CAT-6 cable that I had here, connected to my PC.

- I have two iPAD Pros 9.7 (128 GB wifi only, 256 wifi+cel). Also Apple TV 4.

CjAET0k.png

- This is how I tested and discovered how fast it was:

- Opened an app in both iPADs. Sent a MKV lossless file with 30 GB. When I sent the 1st, the UL speed was 19-20 MB/s (the DIR-809 could only send at 10 MB/s at best). When I tried sending to both iPADs, 24 MB/s.

Then I had the idea to use Infuse (still Pro v4) for ATV 4 as a third alternative. Infuse opened a file (also MKV lossless, and a very heavy one, with 30 GB+ and 11 audio tracks). And this was when I saw the max UL speed is 28 MB/s.

- What I can tell about Infuse Pro v4 for ATV 4 while using the Archer C8 and these cables is that there's no lag AT ALL. The files start to play dramatically faster, taking only a few seconds for it, and changing audio/subtitle streams causes no stuttering.

So before all of this, using a non-gigabit-router, opening a single MKV lossless file with 30 GB would present some lag using the ATV 4 or the iPAD. Now this isn't an issue and I bet 3 (or more) of these streams could be made at the same time, considering even a 30 GB file wastes 7, 8 MB/s.

I don't know if the max speed is indeed 28 MB/s, I haven't tried using another PC or more robust device for these tests.

It should be noted all these files (the MKVs) are stored in this machine:

PC; Core i7-4770; Gigabyte H97M-D3H; Win-10-Pro-64-bit; Hard Drive: 4 TB WD40PURX (5400 RPM, HDTune says max speed is 124 MB/s)

I also updated the network driver from Realtek.

This is what I had to say... I hope it is very clear now for everyone that is reading that not only a gigabit-router is required, new ethernet cables (CAT 5-E or 6) are necessary, too.

The latest version of Infuse for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV is here, and it brings with it some pretty awesome things we think you're going to love. Here's a quick rundown of what's new...

Movie collections
Infuse now automagically tidies up your Library by grouping sequels into collections. Can't remember the name of the second Fast and Furious movie, or the third Bond film with Sean Connery? Wonder no more - just search or browse for a collection and all titles will be grouped together and ordered by their release date. Boom! Collections are available in all existing Library categories, or through the new dedicated Collections section - which may come in handy if you're looking for a full series to binge on.

Super-fast search
Find what you're looking for in a flash with our new super-fast search for Apple TV. Search by entering a single letter, or use Siri to dictate a full title. Infuse will instantly start searching for movies, collections, and TV series/episodes. Finding something great to watch has never been easier.

Plus even more...
We've also baked in a few other goodies like video deinterlacing, 3D touch, and a number of other improvements. A complete list of what's new can found here. You can also take a peek at some of the great new things we're working on for 5.2, and vote on other features you'd like to see added in future updates in our new feature request section.

Upgrade and save 30%
The release of Infuse 5 last month brought with it many great new features, and in the spirit of Christmas we've decided to extend the 30% discount through the end of the year! Anyone who subscribes to the new Infuse Pro during 2016 will be able to lock in a permanent 30% price discount. That's right, you'll get the discount this year, and every year after as well! Having an annual subscription to Infuse Pro ensures you always have the latest and greatest version, and empowers us to continue adding great new features and get them into your hands faster than ever before.

To take advantage of this discount, simply download Infuse 5 and start your free month long trial of Infuse Pro before 2017 arrives. If you prefer a one-time purchase we have a standalone Pro version available as well.

This is awesome! I was just browsing my library without knowing there had been an update and it was magically grouping movies while I was watching. My extensive Bond collection is now much more accessible. It also groups different versions of the same movie (like theatrical and director's cut) if appropriately tagged. Well done. :)

Will collections mean that movies over two parts (e.g. Lord of the rings extended versions) are supported?
This should work if you name the two files or edit the metadata properly. For example, I have two different files for Terminator 2 (ripped from the UK HD-DVD). One is called "Terminator 2 Judgment Day (1991).mkv" and the other one "Terminator 2 Judgment Day (1991) (Director's Cut).mkv". Infuse automatically detected both as the same movie and grouped them since they obviously have the same collection ID on TheMovieDB. By naming your parts similarly (or editing the metadata to tell Infuse they belong to the same movie) it should group them too.

Not just yet, but displaying multi-part movies as one playable item is something we're working to add. Once it's available, it will work seamlessly with Collections.
Assume grouping is only for library mode? Or it's not working for my movies favourite.
Correct. Collections are only available in the Library.

I am seeing here that Infuses makes a confusion about the organization of my folders. I tried two TV shows, one Dungeons and Dragons, and the other Babylon 5.

For each one I have put all episodes inside folders labeled "Season 1", Season 2 and so on.

D&D had 3 seasons. I have also created the same folders, but with the name "Dubbed", meaning it's the same stuff with this alternate audio (couldn't put both in a single file).

Babylon 5 had 5 seasons, plus a folder called CRUSADE, another folder for the movies, another for each season extra features...

This is what happened here:

Infuse is displaying all episodes from D&D outside their folders. Strangely, that only happens with Season 1, for both kinds of contents. So I have here episodes with the original english audio mixed with those from S01 with another language. I didn't ask/wanted for this, that's why I put them separately.

For B5, something worse happened: all episodes from all seasons are OUTSIDE THEIR FOLDERS. Including CRUSADE (it had only one season). Only the folders "Extras - season 1/2/3/4/5" and MOVIES weren't affected.

@firecore , if you don't mind another input from me, you need to instruct Infuse to stop disregarding the way we organize these folders or at least add an option to disable this sort of interference.

I had the metadata option disabled because I have multiple files here that aren't in any database, they are EXTRA FEATURES, and I am only seeing a single image and in each one the text T1-T2-T3, etc. which only tells the number of the episode, nothing else.

This doesn't help me, because while using Windows I always select the option (for viewing folders and their files) "Details".

Meaning that in Windows I can see a folder like this:

Nqd3ofJ.png

Which helps me tremendously to navigate to the content I desire, instead of this:

aRhJZ3V.png

Am I missing some option or the latter is the only way files can be seen while navigating inside folders in Infuse? If this is the only way, I think the former would help a lot in a folder with multiple files.

I took the plunge and paid £9.99 for the new infuse 5 pro but alas for me it still struggles with playback. Playing back tv shows in mkv format there is always a frame glitch both horizontal and vertical. I had similar issues with infuse Pro 4 but was Hoping version 5 would be better.

So I'm back to MrMC as everything plays back buttery smooth all the time.

Found the option I was looking for: Detailed View. This allows me to navigate between folders and see all filenames easily, it's just that wasn't enabled by default.

@firecore My app is not updating even though I have autoupdate on, how do I update to 5.1?
You can update manually by searching for the Infuse app on the App Store, and selecting the Update option.

Also, you can confirm the version that's currently installed by scrolling to the bottom of Infuse > Settings.

Hmm, we'd love to hear a bit more about the issue(s) you were running into. https://firecore.com/contact

Great!
Infuse looking great, i am surely gonna try it soon.
Awesome! Infuse 5 is really great, so please let us know if there are any questions we can answer for you.

@firecore: Would it be possible to not only scrobble the watch status to trakt.tv, but also synchronize the library to the trakt collection? I.e. if I add a movie to the Infuse library, it should automatically become part of my trakt collection.

Would love this too

I noticed an bug/change that started showing up during one of the updates to Infuse 5. For all my TV shows it used to show an episode shot as the cover art for each episode now it just shows a generic cover art for each episode.

Good idea! We'll take a look.

Hmm, what type of image are you seeing?

Infuse classified some files I added as "Other" rather than "Movie" or "TV show". Path names:

"The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)\The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015).mkv"

"Hawaii Five-0\Season 1\Hawaii Five-0 - S01E01 - Pilot.mkv" (and further episodes)

I assume it stumbled over the somewhat unusual filenames (the periods and the zeroes), but these are the canonical MovieDB/TVDB names. It seems it was actually able to correctly identify the shows by the filename anyway (since it did add some metadata such as date and description). But how can I get it to classify the files correctly into the movie and TV sections of the library?

It's the same for me too.
It changed with the last update.
It's the same picture for all episodes and also the same text for all episodes.

It's still working correct in Infuse 4.3.6.

The attached pictures are from IOS version but is the same pictures on TVOS versions.

I concur with that too, usually going in and editing the metadata to point it to the show again. Most of the time it will fix the issue and bring back the proper episode thumbnail rather than the generic show thumbnail but few times it doesn't.

This is a known issue we're currently looking into.

In the meantime, you should be able to use Infuse's edit option to search for titles manually, or edit the filenames to movie the extra periods/dashes. E.G. Hawaii Five0 and The Man from UNCLE.

Hmm, is this happening with all shows or just this one? Did the correct episode artwork ever appear for this series in v5, or has it always been the series artwork?

It's happening with more than this show.

Yes it was working before v 5.1.

But it's still working for some shows in v 5.1.
My feeling is that for shows that is working with correct episode artwork and text the metadata was downloaded before v5.1.
