Wake on lan doesn't seem to be working in the new version. Was working fine in v4 after you fixed it. Looks like it needs fixing again.

Just get the rotating icon then the error.

We've tracked down and resolved one Wake-on-Lan issue for the upcoming 5.2 update.

I just noticed last night that some shows are working again but only for new episodes. Example S2 E1-E6 are all good(assuming these were added before the update) then E7-E10 are the generic name and cover art. I just added E11 last night and it is working correctly but E7-E10 did not change. I don't recall there being another update so I'm not sure what changed. The naming format and sorting of my library did not change.

We're not seeing this exact thing here, but among other things the upcoming 5.2 update includes a number of general fetching related improvements which may help with this issue.

Finally got it working in 5.1
Renamed my entire library with Filebot.
Deleted metadata library in Infuse.
Downloaded metadata in Infuse again.
Now is both episode pictures and episode text working.
The only difference I see now between 4.3.6 and 5.1 is that it is different season pictures between the versions.

What I would really like to see, so that infuse can finally and totally replace iTunes, is to be able to sort my movie collection by watched/unwatched... is there any chance of this happening in the near future?

The different season images could be the result of when the images were fetched. Infuse will always use the top rated image, and if new ratings are submitted the 'best' image may change from time to time.

Infuse has filter that will list all your unwatched movies. This is available in Library > Movies > Unwatched.

I deleted metadata in both versions at the same time and downloaded metadata to both versions maximum 5 minutes between the versions.

Tested with both iOS and tvOS versions.
Same occurs on both iOS and tvOS.

Happy 2017! Today we're pleased to announce the first of many updates coming this year. 5.2 features some really great things, including support for more video types, iOS search, NFS streaming, better playback, and much, much more.

Here's the full scoop on everything that's new.

ISO, VIDEO_TS, and .dvdmedia - oh my!
DVD file support has been one of the top feature requests since we launched Infuse for Apple TV in late 2015. Now you can dust off that pile of old DVD backups and let Infuse work its magic to turn them into the makings of a great movie night. Just browse, play, and enjoy.

Super-fast search for iOS
Our super-fast search is now available for iOS! Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner to search for videos in a particular folder, or start a search right from the home screen to have Infuse look through everything.

And a whole lot more...
We've also added a bunch of other great things like NFS streaming, new sort options, faster buffering, and a pile of other awesome improvements. A complete list of what's new in 5.2 can be found here.

We always love hearing from you - so please feel free to post a comment below or drop us a note with any thoughts or questions you may have.

Enjoy!

The speed of opening a favourite folder and playing files is much improved.

I don't use the library feature so can't comment on the speed there.

I'm seeing the same thing. Initial startup and buffering after seeking seems quite a bit faster. Nice.

BTW, not sure if I mentioned this before, but I'm the other way around (i.e. I almost exclusively use the library), and I would like to see an option to launch directly into the library when first starting the app. Due to the number of shares I have on my NAS, I currently have to scroll two screens to the right to get to the library every time, which is a bit annoying.

Nice to hear! :)

With regards to launching directly into the Library this can actually be achieved in the current version by setting Library items as Favorites.

Step 1. Long-press on the Library items you want to appear on the home screen.
Step 2 (optional). Long-press on new Library favorites to browse for custom artwork.
Step 3 (optional). Long-press on existing folder based favorites to hide them.
Step 4 (optional). Hide the Library icon through the Settings > Library menu.

Thanks, that helps a bit. But now when I have to access the folders directly it's a bit of a pain. Absent an option to jump directly into the library screen, I think being able to reorder the favorites on the home screen would help a lot. That way I could leave the folders and just move the library all the way to the left. Currently, when I add both library items and folder favorites to the home screen, it's a mess since I have shares called "Movies" and "TV Shows" that mix up with the library items of the same name ...

Got it.

I suppose in the meantime you could rename the display name of each favorite (this doesn't have to match the actual folder name) so they appear in the correct order. EG zMovies This is a bit hacky though.

Unfortunately, just the same playback stuttering problems (reference movies like The Dark Knight, Avatar, etc ...) on my ATV4 with infuse Pro5.2

Here's another weird issue: I noticed that the switch port where my ATV is connected was constantly blinking whenever Infuse was running. I did a packet capture on my router and found that something on the ATV is constantly sending time requests to various NTP servers (UDP port 123). Below a packet trace just for one second (10.0.0.63 is my ATV). It keeps doing this every second, with Infuse just sitting on the home screen. When I quit Infuse, it stops. Is there any reason why the app needs to update the clock all the time (and from at least a dozen different NTP servers no less)?

Hmm, definitely a little weird.

We've made a few changes to the NTP library we're using which should reduce the frequency of calls to a more reasonable level. These changes will be included in the next update.

Huh?
This is an old and familiar story which in previous editions already promised was that it is resolved, right?
Top Priority is still smooth playback!
Each version usually includes some form of playback improvement, but changes for one video type may not necessarily apply to other types.

The good news is Apple just announced they are allowing developers to directly access powerful HW decoding options in tvOS 10.2. This will be particularly useful for high-bitrate h.264 videos which make up a fair portion of Blu-rays released in the last 5-6 years.

I'm on a roll with the bug reports. ;) Infuse sometimes drops the last word in SRT subtitles. I'm attaching a test file (the forum won't let me upload .srt files, so you'll have to rename it). It works fine in other players I've tried.

I'm on version 5.1 and the app will not auto update. I went to the app store and saw the app there at v5.2 but it only gives me the option to open my current (v5.1) app and not update...

I called Apple last night to make sure it's not an error on their side but they said it's an issue with the app.

When I saw this problem in v5.0 going to v5.1, I deleted and resinstalled the app but I don't want to do this every time a new version comes out and lose all my settings every time...

Hmm, it may be possible the app already auto-updated itself (this is what Apple TV apps are supposed to do, but it doesn't always happen). You can check the version you are currently running by scrolling to the bottom of Infuse > Settings.

You may also check and see if you can update through the App Store > Purchases tab.

Already done all the above to no avail.
