We're looking into this. It likely has something to do with the Creators Update.
I am not sure if my comment will help, but one thing I noticed after this Fall Creators was that uploading to Google Drive (or Youtube) seems to be limited to 230 KB/s when my broadband is 50 Mbps and 5 Mbps for upload, meaning the max UL speed is 700 KB/s. This always happens when I restart Windows. However I discovered that if I disable and reenable the network adapter the UL speed is back to normal. Not sure why.

I have also updated all my Windows drivers, and the Apple TV 4 uses a fixed IP in my Archer C8 router, like my PC and iPADs. The ATV uses the IP 192.168.8.149 (permanent, it doesn't change when I restart the modem). I use the H97M-D3H motherboard, and...

Hope that helps... it's really unfortunate that it stopped working especially in the ATV because the VLC app (which can access my Windows folders right now) is not an alternative for me.

We're looking into potential issues with the Creator's Update here, and hope to have more news soon.

One thing I've noticed-using the ATV remote, the 10 second skip doesn't work. The touch surface will work to pause and unpause the video, but when skip pops up, pressing will not skip. Skip works just fine in other apps. I tried using the ATV remote app, and skipping works as expected there.

Just got a new hdr 4K tv and an Apple 4K Tv.
Tried streaming some 2160p content in inFuse and my hdr flag did not kick in.
I am seeing zero video options in settings.

Am I missing something?

4K iTunes movies properly turn on the flag.

Are you sure that your locally stored movies contain HDR? Many 2160p versions which are available to download are only SDR.

Also are you running the Public Beta of tvOS 11.2?

That was what I was going to suggest. I guess this is why developers aren't keen to offer support for features that haven't yet reached the official firmware. HDR is triggered fine here on the latest tvOS beta.

Hmm, everything seems to work here.

Are you using the tvOS public beta, or the regular version?

Maybe a quick Apple TV restart could help?

I'm running the public beta. It's happening on 2 ATV4K units I have. (both running beta). And they've each been restarted. Also, when it's doing this, other apps (Plex, Netflix) work fine.

As someone who has battled with a similar app with very slow updates and even slower support, I’d gladly take a subscription model with fast and regular updates, rather than a one-time charge and slow updates. I find that the current prising is definitely worth it.

Is it possible to access the shared folders from the Mac over the internet?

I ran into an issue last weekend where Infuse will popup an error reading file during the movie and I would have to restart the app to get it to read the movie again and play. It happened 3-4 times.

Running the latest official ATV OS and Infuse, data connection was not lost when this issue happened.

Interesting. Are you running the latest 5.6.2 version (check at bottom of Infuse > Settings menu)?

There are a few ways for doing this, and a bit more info that may help can be found here.

If this happens again, can you send in a report from your Apple TV so we can look into what's going on?

Support for DV content is currently under investigation. For now, these will be played in normal HDR10 mode.

I’m not sure how to rip Dolby Vision yet. I saw one mention that the DV meta data is kept in a separate video track that would reside in the MKV file retained from the disc.

@firecore How much does your app cache on the AppleTV itself, if at all? In other words, if playing a large file, does the app cache any of the file locally during playback? If so, is there any advantage to getting a 64GB AppleTV as opposed to a 32GB AppleTV for playing very large files?

DV includes 2 video tracks, and most apps aren't yet able to support this. This probably isn't a great thread to discuss ripping options in, but AFAIK, full ISO files are the only option for DV.

The storage size only becomes a factor when you install apps that use a lot of disk space (games, fireplace apps, etc...).

Infuse is pretty efficient with the space it uses, and is able to play very large ~90GB files on either the 32 or 64 GB models.

Sorry I didn't mean for the question about 32 vs 64 to detract from the main question. I appreciate that Infuse is efficient, I've certainly had no problem playing large files so far. I'm just wondering, as a curiosity, and for planning my network:

Does the Infuse app cache anything locally while streaming? If so, how much cache does it use? Or, how much cache does tvOS allow it to use?

It keeps everything in memory (RAM), so it doesn't actually use disk space while streaming.

@firecore Feature request - On AppleTV, in the pulldown menu while a video is playing, it would be awesome if there was another tab with information about the file, like filename, video encoding, video bit rate, video resolution, audio encoding, audio bitrate, audio channels, whether it has hdr, and stuff like that.

Yeah I’ll second that. Any chance of having picture previews for fast forward and rewind too?

We've had a few requests for this, and will be looking into adding something along these lines in an upcoming version.

Currently planned for 5.7. ;)
Yeah would be nice, although I would like to see if the Video has HDR before I play it. Does it do this already?
Coming soon. ;)

Would LOVE an info panel. You can’t provide enough info there for us. :)

Also, please show 2 sections:

1. All the details on what the source is.
2. What the ATV is actually outputting.

Take a look at the advanced info panel on an Oppo 203 for inspiration.
[doublepost=1512419622][/doublepost]@firecore, any chance we could results from our Infuse library showing up when doing Siri content searches via the Apple TV remote?

We'll see what we can do. Thanks!
