Streaming from Plex is supported, but not from remote locations.I did, and responded that it had no way to connect to libraries. Firecore rep even responded to confirm. They can't connect to media libraries from plex or emby.

What port? I can open a port if I need to.It doesn't use the Plex server, but can't you just point Infuse at the location where your media files are stored?
There's something even more strange that I just find out:We'll take a look. Thanks!
Infuse 5.6.2 with automatic frame rate switching and other playback improvements is now available!![]()

Infuse does not require a server component. All the playback is handled on the device, and as a result is able to stream from just about any network location (Mac, PC, NAS, Time Capsule, Plex, Kodi, etc...) and many cloud services (Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive).
As you pointed out, the sole caveat with this is some videos may take up more storage space, but with iOS devices coming with more standard storage and the availability of compact storage devices like SanDisk iXpand, it seems like a reasonable trade off.
Hope this helps!
Ok, I set it up with SMB. But how can one test the free app?
I understand that to stream you need the Pro version, so I tried downloading 3 videos with quality ranging from HD to plain old 576p with mp3 audio and the app does not play any of those and always prompts me to buy Pro.
Or is it the free app only to see how the app looks, so the video player is disabled?
You have to sign up to the free one month trial. If you’re not happy with it just cancel before the end of your month.
Ah I see. I did that earlier this year but gave up on it same day as I didn’t go through the trouble to set up SMB to test it.

We're looking into this. It likely has something to do with the Creators Update. There's something even more strange that I just find out:
You remember that I said in iOS Infuse was seeing all my shared folders (from Windows 10-64 bit, PC)? Well, apparently it is working in it because IT WAS ALREADY ADDED there. Otherwise it wouldn't be visible.
Take a look at these two images:
https://imgur.com/a/YcyNA
The 2nd image is from Infuse (1st from other app - both for iOS).
As you can see, the 1st app detects my computer, recognizing as MY USERNAME (SMB/CIFS). If I hit OK it will recognize as 192.168.8.144 and ask for the proper username and password.
Meaning that Windows is broadcasting that is online for me to read its shared contents.
Now, the 2nd image shows Infuse for iOS. I already added the 192.168.8.144 IP (from Windows, PC) and it's saved as "Computador".
Compartilhamentos salvos = "Shared folders/remembered devices", meaning that in the past Infuse for iOS was able to see the computer using Windows in the same way that 1st app from IMGUR.
Now, look what happens here:
![]()
If things were working fine then Infuse for iOS would show something like this:
![]()
That means my computer is invisible for the iOS version, too!
Because it's not being listed at all. The folders can still be accessed only because I saved in the past the credentials, when it was visible, as 192.168.8.144 + WINDOWS USERNAME + Windows password.
I only get OTHERS and "iPAD".
In the ATV 4 I only get OTHERS, and if I attempt to insert the IP address 192.168.8.144 + the Windows username/password (manually, of course) it won't allow me to save this data. So what "OTHERS" is good for?
I have no way to regain access in the ATV and I only have access in the iOS version because it was already saved there (the Windows/PC credentials).
This is very odd, especially considering other apps not created by you can see my shared folders from Windows/PC.
And it's already established this couldn't be something broken in one of the last 5.X ATV versions, since I downloaded the 4.X and it didn't work there either.
With that said I can dismiss the idea you have done something wrong in the last updates.
It has to be either because Windows 10 got that Fall Creators Update, due to these new tvOS versions or some specific configuration in Windows that would make it visible to Infuse again (but if that's the case, why it can only affect YOUR app?).
As my avatar suggests, I hate unsolved mysteries...![]()
Enjoy!Awesome!!! Can’t wait to give it a go tonight!
P.S. anybody want to buy an Nvidia Shield TV?
The 1 month free trial will allow you to use all Pro features for that month, but Apple only allows one trial per Apple ID.Ok, I set it up with SMB. But how can one test the free app?

There are 2 tabs on the releases page - iOS and Apple TV - and automatic frame rate and dynamic range switching is listed in the Apple TV list.Perhaps automatic frame rate switching should be specified in the release notes, as it's an higly anticipated feature? The current release note for version 5.6.2 doesn't mention it.
Is automatic switching between SDR and HDR also included in this version?
Great work. Thanks to you guys for being so responsive.Infuse 5.6.2 with automatic frame rate switching and other playback improvements is now available!![]()

No worries - we may actually need to look at making the tabs a bit more obvious.Sorry, my bad![]()
I thought you couldn’t release it till Apple released the final tvOS 11.2?Infuse 5.6.2 with automatic frame rate switching and other playback improvements is now available!

That was the initial thought, but fortunately it wasn't the case.I thought you couldn’t release it till Apple released the final tvOS 11.2?
I assume this only works on the ATV4K (and not the old 4)?Infuse 5.6.2 with automatic frame rate switching and other playback improvements is now available!![]()

Just got a new hdr 4K tv and an Apple 4K Tv.
Tried streaming some 2160p content in inFuse and my hdr flag did not kick in.
I am seeing zero video options in settings.
Am I missing something?
4K iTunes movies properly turn on the flag.
Glad you're enjoying it.Infuse is a pretty rock solid app, if it just had the ability to be a proper Plex client it would be perfect!! Maybe if I write a letter to Santa?..
Some formats require Pro. If you are already running Pro, then you won't be prompted to upgrade in the app.I think firecore is now my least favorite company of all time.
How the h3ll does $10 not allow me to play xvid??? I need a subscription to play my OWN videos?
Piece of garbage.
Glad to hear you're up and running!Success! I made sure to test a sample that actually said HDR.
Worked like a charm.
