Ok thanks for the reply, just looking on my iPad and cannot see the library categories once I connect to my Plex server.

It’s seems I can only add my films and shows to favourite, after that I have no options like genre and unwatched etc.

I can’t find them.

In my library all I got is remove from library or sort by date.

On iOS, these categories can be accessed through the 'Browse' section (tap search icon in lower nav bar).

It only has few pre-defined categories in Library, a bit bored. How can I create my own category such as "Chinese Movies", "Christopher Nolan's Movies", "4K Movies", etc? Any chance to allow to create tags, and assign one or multiple tags to any movie? So that you can quickly locate a movie via different tags, and you have very customized categories too.

Ok thanks for the tip.

On iOS I have to toggle between movies or tv shows, is there a way of the main screen showing both of these without having to toggle all the time.

So like the Plex app basically, this shows me unwatched tv shows and unwatched movies all on the main screen.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the suggestions - we'll see what we can do. :)

Not right now - currently everything will be separated by category on the Library screen on iOS.

Hi can someone explain why everyone loves this? I don’t know much about the point of Infuse? Is it for people who have torrents and stuff like that? Pardon the ignorance.

Infuse will refresh automatically when opening the app, as long as the last refresh happened over an hour ago. You can also trigger a refresh manually by tapping the 'last updated' text at the bottom of the main Library screen.

More info on adding and removing lists can be found here.
https://support.firecore.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003184653-Managing-Favorites-Lists

The Watching section is part of the Up Next List, and this can be adjusted by using the option found in Settings.

Remote streaming is available in the free version of Plex.

Hope this helps. :)

@firecore Could we not have something like the attached image. A spinning arrow next to the settings icon that spins when it auto refeshes your library, but is also a button you can press to trigger a refresh?

I noticed when I go in to my favorites TV shows folder there are no unwatched badges. I have to select each show one by one and go in to it before it shows the unwatched badge. Would be nice if it not only showed that from the top level of the folder as i'm browsing all tv shows but also showed the unwatched count.

I have deleted the default folders that were there and just use my favorite folders now. The reason is the default TV folder that was there lumped together all the folders I have made with tv shows. It did the same for movies where I have two separate movie folders. One just for bluray rips and the other for 4k rips. Now it's all one folder which I don't want. Just making favorites of my shares resolves this.

Hi all,
Well i tried the Plex integration and although it connected to my server (a PC i had to leave switched on), i ended up wondering - "What's the point". Now i know some will explain the point to me, and i welcome the discussion.

I thought if i connected to Plex, i would get the library i had on my Plex server showing in Infuse. But i was disappointed to see that although i had set up seperate libraries in Plex (Standup, Movies, Docs etc), Infuse still kept them all in the same category.

So where my Music Concerts rely on setting the up as Movies to get the Metadata, the Movies tab show Movies, Concerts together. This is an issue for me as i like to separate Kids Movies, Concerts etc.

Creating Favourites works to an extent except having my Movie Library as a favourite, doesn't put all the movies in collections where applicable. This only happens if i use the library.

So i have now switched off the Plex server, Infuse uses my NAS and i live with the tabs :)

What would be really nice Firecore, is the ability to create separate "library categories" instead of just Movies, TV & Others. And then have each Category on the home screen, sorted into collections where applicable.

Other than that, i am very happy with the Infuse player and am still trying to wrap my ahead around what the Plex Integration is actually for...

It’s for people who use a plex server to feed a variety of devices. Some of which may not be Apple TV devices (so no infuse) and some of which may be out-with the home.

Ah ok :) - I am suitably chastised hehe.
Didn't even cross my mind because i have Apple Tv and a WD My cloud accessible from out-of-home.

My bad...

I don’t use it either if I’m being honest. Plex doesnt support iso files and collections are a pain. And everything I have runs infuse.

I like the Plex UI (as i mentioned being able to create different libraries). But other than that, Infuse works like a charm for me.

Hopefully sometime in the future, an Infuse update will allow us to create custom libraries that display collections (nudge...nudge)

I just prefer the Plex meta data management. So much eaiser to fix troubled matches, change art, organize a tv series by dvd order, and so on.

I also recommend forgoing collections and just using playlists. They work on Infuse now. On the Plex server you can create, name, and organize playlists easily. And best off you control the order. I have some playlists sorted by release dates and others by movie order or alphabetical. Complete control.

No transcoding at all. Infuse can load subtitles without transcoding.

Infuse never needed any transcoding to add external subtitles when reading from SMB/NFS etc. But is it confirmed that Infuse can avoid transcoding when media&subs are accessed from a Plex server?

Correct. Infuse does not require (or support) transcoding in any form at this time. 100% of videos and subtitles will use Direct Play.

We will be making optional transcoding features available in the future, which will be geared towards improving remote streaming when bandwidth may be limited.

I hadn’t used Infuse in about a week or so. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and the interface had completely changed. Absolutely amazing work on this, it looks fantastic. I love the new genres section, and that favorites are there by default now. Very clean!
