It's seems like my issue has gotten worse.
My share is forgotten almost every time.
The issue seems to be, if Infuse does not locate it in time, it just gives up and doesn't keep searching.
If I go back to it, it immediately just says error without trying to connect again.
Once I manually delete that share, it becomes available again after some time.
I guess my best bet is to submit something to main website, which I will.
Other than that inconvenience, I love the app.

Hmm, yes we should definitely take a deeper look into what is going on here.

Infuse 5 is a separate app, and a paid upgrade from v4. However, v4 users can upgrade at a discount.

The discount is for the lifetime option available in the free Infuse 5 app.
Infuse 4 users can upgrade and save about 30%, though prices will vary a bit by country.
@firecore I have a question re: shares / library
When I was using a drive attached to my Time Capsule, I could add it on the AppleTV and after the initial scan, everything showed on the home screen as a Library. Well, my time capsule is in for repair, and my drive is currently attached to a WD MyCloud. I can see the share and add “videos” as a favorite, but nothing shows on the home screen, just that one icon.
Is there any way to make that share act as my Library? Not sure if there is something I need to change on the MyCloud itself. With the Airport it just worked.

EDIT: Disregard! I figured it out. adding the actual folder as a share via smb://wdmycloud/sharename, and then adding my two folders as favorites automatically made the Library work correctly. It must be something wonky with the default way that the MyCloud serves media.

Glad you got it figured out!
For a bit of background, some streaming options like UPnP or DLNA won't work with the Library features in Infuse, so it's possible you may have been using one of those with your initial WD drive setup. SMB will work great though.

Ran into a problem... While the share was added as SMB and Infuse sees all of the content on the drive, every time I attempt to play something I get "an error occurred loading this content".
I already miss my TimeCapsule where everything just worked. Any thoughts?
edit: if I play the videos via the UPnP share through the wd mycloud they all work fine. So it has to be something with the SMB.

The MyCloud device is just wonky. It appears in two places in "shares" one for UPnP, and the other (as just the IP address) in SMB. If I add it via the IP address, library works fine, but it won't play files that are on the attached USB drive. The only solution I could come up with was to copy the contents of that external drive to the MyCloud itself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ At least that works... so far. I completely blame WD for the way this drive is implemented. It was / is a complete waste of money.
I have a WD MyCloud 3TB with an 2TB plugged into the External USB port of the device. Works perfectly for me.
Infuse shares added as SMB. Then set up the shares as favourites.
I did forget to allow full access on the shares (within the WD settings) so i also had the problem of not being to play files from the drive.
So when i granted my username full access on all the shares, entered the login details for the shares on infuse - all good
Any idea why Infuse just decided to 'forget' all my shares? Having to add them all again, edit the metadata etc is a major pain and something I'd like to avoid in the future, so any ideas for prevention appreciated.
Edit - and now after re-adding my entire 500 file library, my main page has decided to stop listing the movies and TV shows it was doing before - now it just shows my share folders and nothing else. Not good.

I'm also affected. This is quite annoying, since I now have to rescan my entire library on 3 different ATVs, which will take hours. There should really be a safeguard to tell an intentional removal of synced information from a cloud failure ...

However, until we're confident Apple has fully resolved what was going on, it may not be a bad idea to leave it off for a few days.
