Apps Infuse for Apple TV Released

Infuse allows you to browse via two ways when using Plex: via Plex library, and via Infuse library.

When using Plex's library, you'll see a list of all the items you have in each library you have created in Plex. When using Infuse's library, you'll be able to browse using categories like Recently Added, By Genre, Release Date, Rating, etc... You can also customize what you see on the home screen by adding a variety of different lists and/or favorites. A bit more info on how this works can be ofund here.

2nd beta is out and word is atmos bitstreaming with itunes content is working. Can't wait for you to dive in to this release and let us know what is possible.

I tried this yesterday and even though the options for Atmos were there in the settings it was still playing 5.1 rather than Atmos so either its not fully enabled or the app needs to be updated to support it.

People are getting it working. But it doesn't seem to be for everyone. Also atmos in vudu is working too.

I can’t try vudu as I’m from the UK :(. I have tried both Plex and Infuse and neither work but if it’s working in vudu it must mean the applications need to be updated to support Atmos.

It's at the top of our list, but unfortunately it doesn't seem like Apple has released any documentation for how apps can implement Atmos just yet.

The wait continues...

I don't think you need to, after i said it wasn't working i tried again yesterday and it started to work so not sure what i did different but it seems to be good now. :)

Loving Infuse so far but is there an easy way to access your media remotely? I know i can add my external IP but i don't want it to use my external IP when I'm at home as it will obviously degrade performance.

Is the best option to disable iCloud sync and have two different connections for my Apple TV and other devices? If so that would be a bit of a pain if i need to keep switching which IP i want to connect to depending on where i am.

One thing i like about Plex is that you can login to your account and access you media from that. Do you have any plans to add something similar as that for me is the only thing that Plex has going for it over Infuse.

Infuse works with Plex server, that way u can use plex to short everything out and just use Infuse to play your content.
 
Getting a bit of audio behind video, doesn't do it when watching a film purchased on iTunes, but when using Infuse it's out of sync but I can't apply audio delay as it's behind instead of infront.

This is on TvOS 12 beta.

I have a lot of movies that I ripped to an iOS-compatible format, i.e. they have both a stereo AAC and a 5.1 AC3 track. Normally when playing on the ATV I obviously want the AC3 track. Am I imagining this or has something changed in the way Infuse selects the default track? I think it used to select AC3 where available, but now it always seems to default to AAC so I have to change the track manually every time.

Yes, as of 5.7.3, Infuse will respect the 'default' flag, if it's set in your files.

If you want to avoid this, you can simply change Settings > Language > Audio from 'Auto' to your desired language. This will allow Infuse to ignore the default flag, and simply select the best audio track.

Yep, that explains it. Handbrake set the default flag on the AAC tracks in my encodes (perhaps because it's the first track in the profile I usually use).

I would love a way to make the app NOT auto create cover art and video previews. Depending on the content, this can easily lead to spoilers if I just click down one too many times when selecting a video. I tried overriding the cover art by making my own cover art for every single video be the same, however the video previews still load...
 
For what it is worth, the latest version has fixed the titles disappearing from 'playing' bug I had before. Great work.

After installing tvOS beta I can’t play anything that is HDR it seems. It keeps telling me that there was an error. Plex is logged into my Infused app. I installed it because I am trying out the Atmos feature (setting audio to pass through), but I guess it doesn’t work yet and switching back to auto it doesn’t work either. Apple TV > Denon DVR > LG C7 LED.

Is this a known issue? Thanks!

You need to turn off atmos in your Apple TV settings for it to work at the moment.

New Apple TV 4K arrived today, played around with VLC, Plex and Infuse. Purchased Infuse 5 Pro (the app, not into IAP), shared my film folder on my iMac via SMB and now enjoying my films / TV shows via iCloud Sync! Thanks for this great app!
