I have a HDD directly on my router. It's a 3 TB My Passport Ultra. All Movies and TV-Shows are in Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS. So I don't have Atmos or DTS-X. The Sound with Settings Passtrough is very good for me. AVR Shows the right Sound-Format. Everything is fine. And I only want this back.

That is what Firecore says:

Sorry for the trouble. This is related to a bug in tvOS 11.3 we reported to Apple when the first beta came out. Unfortunately it seems they decided to release 11.3 with resolving this.

We are currently looking in potential solutions for working around this tvOS bug, and plan to have more news soon.

So let us see what the future brings. Maybe Apple is fix their own Problem.

Hello again Firecore-Support,

do you have News about the Problem with cracking noise ? Still Beta 4 of iOS 12 is out. Did Apple fix the Problem ? I want my old Settings back.

While it remembers your place if you stop and later return to a video -- it doesn't mark anything as 'watched'. The exception would be if you go down the rabbit hole of setting up a Trakt.tv account, it'll mark shows in your list there as watched. Within the ATV Infuse app itself though, there's no visual indication of what's been watched.
Infuse will keep track of your position for in-progress items, as well as show items that are fully watched with a checkmark icon to indicate they have been watched.

Trakt can be used if you want this info to sync between devices, and a bit more info on how this works can be found here.
https://support.firecore.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000070773-iCloud-Trakt-Syncing

We're also exploring ways we may be able to use iCloud to keep this info in sync for future versions, so stay tuned.

We recommend leaving Infuse set to Auto to get the best quality audio from the Apple TV.

More info on this can be found here.

Morning all,

A couple of questions and looking at possible improvements:

I have two Apple Tv (Lounge and Bedroom). I would like to load Infuse on both and stream from a NAS.
Is it possible for the two ATV to be in sync? So if i delete something on the lounge ATV, it updates the room ATV?
Same goes for playback - If i stop halfway through an episode in the lounge, can i pick it up in the room (from where we stopped)?

Secondly are there any plans to add collections to directories? (hope this makes sense).
As an example - Kids Movies are in a separate directory on my NAS. When you open the directory as a favourite, you get all the movies but not as collections.
When you open the movie collection favourite, you get all the collections - including the Kids Movies. So i would prefer them separate. So each movie directory also includes collections - but just for that directory.

Thanks guys

Yeah just set up iCloud sync in the options and then sign up to trakt via the options. That will keep your library and playback in sync. Not sure about whether or not your question regarding collections is possible. Can you maybe favourite kids movies as a genre instead of favouriting the folder?

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the reply. I had hoped i could get away with the trakt thing - but will look into it.

As for the favourites - I can set it up as a genre favourite, but it still doesn't show the favourite in a collection format. So say all the Ice Age Movies are shown individually and not as a collection in the favourite. Only in the Movie Collection favourite.

Maybe i have OCD :)

I can’t see any downside with trakt if I’m being honest. It can even keep your playback in sync across different media players. E.g. MrMC and infuse.

That’s a shame about collections though. Maybe James can chime in.

At this time, Collections are only available when using the Library. Sorry.

I'm thinking of ditching my WD MyCloud in favor of DropBox or another cloud solution. Does anyone happen to know if those videos will show in the "Library" or will I only be able to see the contents if I actually click into the favorites on the home screen?

Maybe? But to be honest, it's pretty far down our list right now.

Yes, Library will work with nearly all share types, including cloud services (Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive). The only share types that won't be able to use the Library are UPnP and DLNA based shares.

I was wondering why you would want to ditch the WD Mycloud for a cloud solution? Surely Infuse on a Local LAN would be quicker than an Internet Cloud solution? Also if your Internet line goes down, you lose access to your shares?

Maybe it's because here in South Africa, Internet bandwidth is precious - So i don't see the advantage of a cloud based share

It’s because half of the time I cannot access the drive from outside of my home. When I log into the wd cloud portal I continually get errors of “your drive is offline”. I have yet to find a fix, and don’t expect there to be one, since it’s their service I have to use.

Ah ok - I get it now. I had the same issue with my WD Cloud - Gen 1. I managed to get it working by enabling port forwarding on my router and also setting the device up using a Code (Activation if i remember correctly).

Touch wood, it has worked ever since - but i do check at least once a week on the Web Interface (locally) that Cloud access is enabled - It has a knack of resetting itself after an automatic firmware update.

How about adding different categories in the library perhaps? At the moment it is Movies, TV Shows & Other. If we were able to add or edit those categories, say add a Music Concert, Kids etc. that would also help. And "maybe" the same code that is used in the Movies category in the library, which sorts into collections, could be applied to those categories?

The ability to have these categories is the one thing i like about Plex. But infuse, in my opinion, is still the better player

Yes! I want this too. I want categories for "Ski Movies" "Fitness" and "Concerts"

Infuse 5.7.6 with advanced video upscaling and many other improvements is now available.

Enjoy! :)

Is this based on Mad VR, which is very beneficial with lower res upscaling?

Interesting development actually.
It's somewhat similar, as it includes a new proprietary algorithm which includes some Lanzcos-inspired elements. This is implemented in our super-efficient Metal video rendering layer to provide a noticeable improvement when playing under-sampled videos (EG 480p on a 1080p TV, or 1080p on a 4K TV).

The new upscaling is available on all A9 and later devices (both tvOS and iOS).

I've been using Plex but also have Infuse, which I haven't set up yet.

My files are on my Synology NAS, do you guys point Infuse to the Plex server or straight to the NAS?

Is either way better than the other?

Also if pointing directly at the NAS which is preferable SMB or UPnP/DLNA?

Infuse works equally well with Plex or a direct connection.

The main difference is connecting via Plex will allow things like watched history and metadata to stay in sync with other devices you use with Plex.

If you do opt for a direct connection, we recommend using SMB or NFS.

Today we're rolling out a little 5.8 update with a long-awaited feature: Live preview scrubbing.

Live preview scrubbing
Infuse will now display a small thumbnail while seeking forward or back through your videos, making it much easier to find the exact scene you are looking for. Live preview scrubbing is available on both iOS and Apple TV, and works with all video and network share types.

And much, much more...
A number of other awesome improvements have been packed into recent releases, and a complete list of what's new can be found here.

Enjoy!

Cool!

Any idea when Atmos will be ready?
Currently when my ATV (iOS12 beta) is set to Atmos all my videos show Atmos on my receiver, including those that are standard 5.1.
