unzip the file and place the kext file below in library/extentions
then one at a time enter these terminal commands
Code:

sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions/Lilu.kext

sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/Extensions/Lilu.kext

sudo touch /Library/Extensions

sudo nvram boot-args="$(nvram boot-args | sed $'s/boot-args//;s/\t//g') -lilubeta -inniebeta"

sudo kextcache -update-volume /

Wait for the last command to complete.

I have been holding off from installing Innie because it didn't bother me that my NVMe drive (in a Fusion Drive with a 2TB spinner) was seen as external. However, for the last 4 days, Photos hasn't been updating, and I've been getting a message (from Photos app) to logon enter my iCloud pass. When I clicked on OK it takes me to System Preferences > iCloud. I could see there was no tick on Photos, and when I tried to tick the tick box it came up with this error:
iCloud Photos is only available on macOS Standard, macOS Extended and APFS formatted volumes.
To check the format of a volume, select the volume in the Finder and choose Get Info from the File menu. The type of volume appears in the Format field.

I repaired my Fusion Drive (FD) and that made no difference.

So today I installed Innie, and not only is my FD seen as internal, it has fixed my Photos issue, and it has updated all my latest photos taken on my iPhone.

Just one suggestion for the instructions that @GSXB covered above (thanks for making it so easy!!), please update to include that you have to disable SIP first.

Yeah, there are few OS functions only work when the boot drive is "internal". e.g. SWAP.

This is why we said Innie is more than a cosmetic fix.

please update to include that you have to disable SIP first.

Hasn't this...

"0) Disable SIP. (SIP can be enabled again after.)"

...been there at least for the last few days? I installed innie two days ago and have been fully aware, i had to do it.

By the way: As SIP is causing a lot more smaller and larger issues here and there an has to be disabled for a lot of other tasks, is there any real danger, to keep it disabled completely?

I have not yet reenabled it and do not intend to do so, if not absolutely neccessary. In another case it write-protected some directory on my startup-drive in some very stupid way, without even letting me (with admin rights of course) set permissions to "read and write".

In the end, up til now, anytime i came across it, it did more harm than good. So is there any need for it?

The danger depends on how you use your machine. Using untrusted software and mindlessly entering your password at every request can compromise your system. That's what SIP mainly protects against. By completely disabling SIP, security is reduced to what it was pre-El Capitan. As a tradeoff, you can always just disable certain parts of SIP.

Last NVIDIA web drivers released are for High Sierra. NVIDIA never released Mojave drivers.

I know this isn't quite meant for this, but I've been running a Hackintosh as my main tower (current Hackintosh configuration in signature) computing solution on and off since 2009 and I use Lilu and its companion GPU patching kext called WhateverGreen. This Innie plugin for Lilu worked for me on my NVMe m.2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus 250 GB! Screenshot attached with circled drive that this plugin fixed. Thanks so much!

Hi everybody,
Lilu 1.3.8 with Innie 1.0.9 (built-in) works fine in Catalina DP9 (19A573a), my 2 NVMe SSD are seen as internal disks.
I used the following code again in Terminal:
Code:
sudo nvram boot-args="$(nvram boot-args | sed $'s/boot-args//;s/\t//g') -lilubeta -inniebeta"

Did you install DP9 via dosdudes patcher

I am using a 2012 MP 5,1 using Mojave 10.14.6. I followed steps and double checked my process. Once I get to the last step I am getting this message. Thank You.

yes with the Terminal I had "Kext with invalid signatured ... allowed ..." and "KernelCache ID: ..." but it did not work (though I redid the manipulation 2 times in a row ).

But not admitting to me defeated I finally succeeded:
- Disabled SIP
- Deleted Lilu.kext 1.3.6 -> black screen and KP upon deletion
- Restart with PRAM reset -> correct start
- Disabled SIP
- Lilu.kext 1.3.6 copy (with Innie.kext 1.0.9 inside Plugins folder) in /Library/Extensions/
- Repair permissions with "Kext Utility.app"
- Restart -> KP
- Reset PRAM
- Restart -> correct boot -> NVMe seen internal !!!
