I downloaded the ipsw from the developer portal (I wasn't beta testing) and tried to install via iTunes and received an error 14.
Do I need to install XCode 8 or is there a way to get out of this?
My phone is stuck in recovery mode.

yap your phone is brick now.. you have to restore back to iOS 9.3.5 then use the mobileconfig to update to ios 10..

or if you are on a mac, download xcode 8 and then do the restore to iOS 10.

Download iOS 9, then download xCode latest beta and iOS 10 latest beta...
I'm downloading the new Xcode from the portal. Will I be able to update without a clean restore?

In past GMs I never had to install XCode.

Is there any way to get out of the recovery screen?

Issue in the music app on my iPhone SE where the "Downloaded" and "..." buttons are merged still present. I've had this since BETA 1. Not a big deal but it really makes me wonder what exactly Apple has actually done in this build.

I could be imagining it, but quick reply looks slightly different now. Hard to say how.
[doublepost=1473280769][/doublepost]Lovely - the no-text-in-calendar-widget bug is still present. Also, didn't someone say the Safari bug of the letters not reappearing on the keyboard after entering punctuation was fixed? It's still there in 10.0.1.

no bro.. I have tried.. only way to get out of it is doing a restore and update back to ios 9.3.5..
just unplug the phone and plug it back in..
iTunes will see the phone in recovery.. do a restore and it will restore you back to 9.3.5..

So this is the same as beta 8 which according its dedicated thread, sucks and everything is slow and broken and stuff? :(
I hate to say it, but the impression I'm getting from this thread is that this build is uncannily similar to Beta 8... Hopefully not.
Except the builds seem to be different (and it's even labeled as 10.0.1).

The bug in Spotlight Search still exists:

On iPad Air 2 landscape mode, type a few characters in the Spotlight Search box. Move the 'cursor' using two finger on the keyboard, the cursor moves the way as if you are using the iPad in portrait mode.

10.0.1 is the GM. I suspect the new iPhone 7's had a 10.0GM that was an unreleased GM. I think the 0.1 release includes the latest security patches. But I'm just guessing.

If you're referring to the same security patches that were done with 9.3.5, they were already added to iOS 10 in developer beta 7 (two builds ago)

Just because there aren't any immediate visual differences doesn't mean it's the same as beta 8.

The dramatic conclusion! I installed XCode 8 and tried again and it worked.
PHEW

None of this nonsense with the config file right?

Confirmed on a 9.7" Pro too. Almost always use a hardware keyboard and the cursor keys so wouldn't have found this but it is a pretty silly bug.

So I have the ipsw for the GM + XCode.
When trying to restore my iphone 6s it says it is not eligible.. why? :/
(not on dev. account)

Yes, but isn't the build the same as b8?
It's not like it's hard for someone to quickly compare the information: this thread shows that the build for this GM is 14A403 while the beta 8 thread shows that the build for beta 8 is 14A5346a.

Not features or changes, obviously. But there are just random bugs that I expected would be fixed. I'm not trying to complain, but this seems more late a late beta than a release candidate. It's good enough though.
But it's still a different (and a later) build compared to the last beta 8.

Thanks much, good man.
