It's possible that 10.0.3 has some code in it that makes your phone think its a newer build so the beta builds are not offered to you. Hopefully it'll still show up for you but its possible you may have to just wait for the release version.

Thanks I've been thinking this was a possibility too. Since they included the fix for the cellular bug in beta 5 as well as 10.0.3

It's a little it of a head scratcher indeed. It's odd how some of these bugs are limited to the 7Plus.

Choppy as hell? Try as I might, I simply do not see any choppiness. My iPhone is nice and smooth throughout. And yes I am on a 7 plus running iOS 10.1 Beta 5. If you are so unhappy with your 7 maybe you are still within the return window? Take it back right now and get one those nifty devices on the other side of the fence.

I'm now officially convinced it's your specific device. I have zero stutter, lag or choppiness with app switcher and closing apps. Only the extended animation.

Odd question as I've never really noticed before, but when in the app changer, is it supposed to be a blue black ground?

Anyone having issues with setting wallpaper and choosing between still or parallax? mine is greyed out and wallpapers don't move, i think this beta is buggier than beta 4. might go back to 10.0.3

Add me to that "it's just you're device." No, it's not. Some people notice small hiccups or "jank" even in the slightest ways. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean others, like him, don't. Enjoy your flawless phone.

I have taken screen captures via QuickTime of my iPhone and ran them through iMovie. There is zero stutter when it comes to app switcher and closing out apps. On the other hand I do have the stutter in Cellular Data that has been around since iOS 9.0.

So if he is experiencing all this lag, build after build, then the most logical answer is it's his personal device. No? He himself said in another thread that it very well could be his particular device.

I've looked at my 7+ on both 10.0.3 and 10.1 beta 5 and I see NO lag. And trust me, I'm looking. I hate smartphone lag.

I think some people just like to nitpick and complain about the pettiest things. There are no showstoppers or even minor annoyances, especially when on 10.1 but even on the current release, it was not lagging or hiccuping or "janky".

All I can say to those complaining about mild minute lag (and I have strong doubts that it's even there or that if it is, it is a small percentage of phones) is to never try a Samsung phone. Now you want to talk about horrible unacceptable lag, now that's a phone to complain about even with the newest models. It's getting slightly better but it went from a turd to a turd with glitter on it in terms of UI and lag and annoyances and TouchWiz. Now that's a phone with true lag. 'Nuff said.

And I will enjoy my iPhone 7 Plus...I do everyday and so will tons of others as it's the best one out right now by far.

We're trying to update to beta 5.
Yeah but if it let me update from 10.0.3 to beta 4 surely it would allow you to update to beta 5 which is even newer, if the theory of 10.0.3 thinking it's a newer build than beta 5 was true?

I think you get what I'm trying to say here ;)

It's not even that big of a lag with the added wallpaper animation. It's 6 extra frames running at 60fps. That .1 second!! .1 second is nothing. And definitely not something to make such a big deal of.

I updated from 10.0.3 to 10.1 beta 4

This is what I don't understand. I have the beta profile for developers and I have also tried the public beta as well, but it still won't show up. Tried hard resets, deleting the profile etc.

So confused >.<

And at the same some people might be seeing issues that are to a different degree than others for whatever reason.

Hmm well just before they released beta 5 yesterday I installed the beta profile on my iphone 7 running 10.0.3 because I've been getting excessive standby drain since the 10.0.2 update. The OTA update showed up quickly for 10.1 beta 4 and I updated. Strange how your not getting it through On yours

There is zero stutter that you can see. You can't take your personal experience and make a blanket statement. I have seen a tremendous amount of frame rate issues and random scrolling stutters as well as "jank." There are several people that also see this. Does that mean we all have defective phones and not only defective phones but the same defect effectiving all of them? I think not. I can succumb to you not seeing any issues. Great. But for people who extra sensitive to how smooth the interface is, it's definitely noticeable. Go read anandtechs review of the 7&7 plus, specifically the UI section.

Yeah it's really strange because even though I never opted to install any of the previous 4 developer betas, I was still notified that they were available until now

Just a thought .. try rolling back to 10.0.2 on iTunes .. then install the beta profile on there? Might fix it.
