They've done that with public release betas before. They tend to wait for further developer builds on X.0 releases only.

The first developer beta of any .x release has never been the first PB. I got into an argument with someone 3 months about about it. second beta of a .x sure, but never a first. There is a minimum of one beta. I went through every single one. 8.4, 9.0, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3. All had a minimum of one DP before PB.

All of which strengthens my point about the unusual nature of this particular beta. It's really just the completion of the iOS 10 rollout and they want it in as many consumer's hands as possible, as fast as possible.

Ugh. I am so dis satisfied by iOs10
-no slide to unlock feature when pressing home button from screen off now
-to open a notification you now have to press, hold, wait, then swipe to open the passcode screen
-when opening from lock using Touch ID, it doesn't actually open after it reads. You have to again press the home button to open to apps
-this iOS is slow compared to 9 on iPhone and ip air 2, iPad Air
-in messages you have the photos etc AND a tiny text tab. To type you have to open the text tab. Most times you use messages it's to text with occasional pics etc...
-the text window in messages is super tiny now and the ID (with pic) takes up room you can't eliminate with an option (9 never had this)
-stuff just loads a lot slower on this iOS
-wifi works slower for loading than LTE. Never had an issue before

Then go back to 9.3.5 before they stop signing it and dont upgrade. This is about the 10.1 beta, not the place to rant about iOS10.

You can still swipe on lock screen notifications as usual to open them in the app that they belong to.

You can enable the rest finger accessibility option so that you could use TouchID and unlock the phone just like before iOS 10.

To type in messages you just tap on the compose text box and the keyboard comes up just like before so that you could keep on typing. Basically the same process as before, just the compose text box that is at the bottom is smaller initially before you tap on it.

Things are generically not slower for most, perhaps you might need to reset settings or reinstall in case there's something weird going on in that respect.

I think news widget is broken (at least for me) in this release. I have restarted the phone, delete and add the widget again and still displays "no stories".

Happened to me too. I opened News, force quit it then reopened News and now it is working fine.

The slow issue I believe is something wrong with my brand new SE.
The wipe from lock screen does not work like 9. I have to press hold wait then swipe. It's annoying I can't just swipe the message

Can anybody confirm if Microsoft apps, specifically Outlook and Word are working? It was a huge debacle with the betas for 10. Since I rely on them heavily now at my workplace, can't go gung ho on the new betas as much as I'd like to.

If you can't swipe as usual sounds like something is wrong with your installation or your device perhaps.

Why is it unrealistic to see a 10.0.2 release during the 10.1 betas?

It happens all the time. Just because there's a beta out, doesn't mean that they're going to hold all of the bug fixes until that version is released.

They'll most likely release a 10.0.2 update to fix urgent bugs like the no service bug, and then release 10.1 when it's really ready.

I'm kinda bummed out that they don't seem to be working on improving the performance of their brand new device. It's sad that the 6s out performs the 7 in UI smoothness and daily tasks.

Seems video progress bar/scrubber is broken in Alien Blue now... not sure about other apps aside from Safari.

Tried searching, couldn't find anything. I noticed that the notification center will let me scroll and scroll and scroll all the way to the bottom, but there is nothing there. It is only showing approximately the last hour of notifications. If I swipe left and clear the bottom most visible notification, a new one that was previously "hidden" will pop up.

Anyone see this, know a way to fix it without a restore? Syncing all these apps and songs is an all night affair :(

"They don't seem to be working o improving the performance of their brand new device." Did Tim tell you this? How on earth would you know this? [rhetorical question]. Come on...

Well, ummm... do you notice any performance improvements on your iPhone 7?

Hence... they don't SEEM to be working on improving performance. Based on my current knowledge, they haven't improved performance, so it would SEEM as if they're not working on it.

Do you know what the word "seem" means? It's from MY personal perspective.
