This update doesn't really bring a lot but I know this update was able to fix the calendar spam bug and I will suppose this will also try to help iPhone 6s battery problem

Well, it's a bug fix update, so might not really have that much to it, especially in beta 1. How do you know it is able to fix the calendar spam bug, and in what way? And same goes for the iPhone 6s battery issue, if there is one beyond the battery replacement program?

No thats watchOS related. Also they wouldn't release a beta, they would get that seeded immediately so people could update their watch.

How do you know? WatchOS is a dependent on iOS. Quite a few functions can't work without iOS, and update is one of them.

Even though it looks like the WatchOS itself cause the problem, how can we confirm that it's 100% iOS unrelated? Especially the 1st part of the watch update is done by the watch apps on the iPhone. e.g. If the watch apps (iOS side) may send corrupted data to the watch, then it can brick the watch because of an iOS bug.

Multitasking glitch seems to be fixed so far. Going to multitasking is much smoother and a more consistent animation

Not on the 7 Plus. The prior app initially appears overly magnified and then snaps to where it's supposed to be. Jarring glitch that happens at least 80% of the time. I reported it and it was marked as duplicate, so Apple knows and has more than one report.

I wonder if it's related to the unique scaling that takes place on the 7 Plus. Screens rendered internally as 3x and then scaled to HD.

I think it's pretty certain that it's not iOS related as 3.1.1 was pulled and no new beta of watchOS was released. It's a pretty safe bet. Regardless my point still stands true. They wouldn't release a beta to developers. They would push the fix immediately.

The beta release of the watch is a well known trouble maker because lack of DFU mode avail for developers. However, even iOS 10.2 cause the watch update issue, Apple still should pull the 3.1.1 but not the 10.2 because 10.2 itself is working fine on the iDevice. All they need to do is just stoping users update their watch. In this case, they can stop it by pulling the watchOS.

Anyway, I 1000% agree that Apple should address this issue seriously. I own 3 original Apple watchs, all of them are now out of warranty. It sounds very unreasonable that any users have to pay for the fix if they follow 100% Apple way to update their watch (and Apple actually recommend their users keep update their devices with the most up to date firmware).

At this moment, I will say we are pretty hopeless. I talked to some Apple reseller, I am very surprised that even Apple store don't have the firmware on hand to flash the watch, this process must be done in the factory. All they have (The Apple store) is just the cable, and which allow them to flash the demo firmware (the one that running in Apple store) only. Once the demo firmware flashed to the watch, only the factory can restore the watch to normal firmware.

I did use beta on my watch, but now I am out. I don't want to brick it. I can get that cable from China to put my watch in DFU mode, however, there is no way to get the proper firmware. I just can't understand why. The iOS firmware is so open to the public, everyone can download it. Why not the watch?

Not so sure about this beta. Phone app locked up hard, randomly shut down and powered off a bit ago. Both today so far. Yikes. Oh well such it goes with betas even though one would think a x.x.1 would not really have any real issues. Also wondering if this in the "new software coming soon" they referenced that would be solving the calendar spam bug and the additional battery diagnostics?

[Edit] Seems perhaps those two items were included in this release according to this article

I'd like to know too. May stick with 10.2 until a good 10.2.1 comes out.

Not a single issue on my iPhone. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who never runs into any issues with any beta except for maybe beta 1 and 2 on 10.0

This is the first time I get a suggestion regarding the battery life. Is this new?

No, I have occasionally received these since the early iOS 10 betas. I wish they would make these notifications. Who thinks to run to the Battery monitoring section to see what they should be cutting back on. If you go there instinctively, you probably already know what to do.

I don't know, having watched the video that talks about all of that (from which the article might have just copied the information) it seems that the calendar spam and battery shutdown items are just assumptions that someone thinks/hopes might be included in this beta (while the other few items that were mentioned are actually from the iOS 10.2 release).

Basically between some articles and videos, it doesn't seem like anything actually new has actually been noticed in the beta (short of perhaps some things that people might have brought up here or in similar discussions).

Which is not surprising given that its a x.x.1 release. Expecting exciting new features in a point-point release is pretty unrealistic. Based on iOS 8 and 9, I have hopes for 10.3, but the way Apple has shaken things up on these releases this year, who knows!

Thanks for the update!

My iPad Air 2 has a glitch where the keyboard locks up in landscape. Turning it to portrait and back to landscape fixes it. Odd. PB tester here. I hope this beta fixes this glitch.

I had this on my iPad Pro two betas back but it was fixed...
