Don't know if this has been pointed out but when you force touch/swipe (press view) to reply from NC, instead at the top it saying MESSAGES it shows the app icon & the contact name of who you're replying to.

Noticed it on my iPad. Phone still on 10.1.
Good I filed this as an improvement request in the earlier betas. It was very confusing if you were talking to multiple threads at once.

Just updated. Took a hefty chunk of battery (11%) applying it.

Not sure on the point of a video widget but supposed some will use it.
I think this may be related to the TV app, when this is all released in December. Bet it will take you to whatever you were last watching.

View attachment 669602 New icon for Bluetooth headphone battery level in status bar.

It's now a picture of a pair of headphones rather than a generic Bluetooth logo.
And this is probably timed to coincide with the new Airpods, which should have been released just about now! Ooops!

I don't know if this is a 10.2 feature or not but, calendar widget now shows all day events like today for Halloween

Can you elaborate on this? All day events not showing up in Calendar widget is one of my most-wanted "features." Can you check a few others (birthdays from Contacts and all day events added in Calendar)? And post a screenshot?

Thanks very much!

So this must be new then? I should add to the wiki if so.

Wow! Yes, that is new! Does the all day event stay on top if there are other non-all day events?
All day events would show up in iOS 10 calendar widget before as well, but the behavior has been at least somewhat inconsistent when it came to them.

Sounds like another fix/change to add to the OP. They are really squashing quite a few bugs and annoynances with this one it seems.

As many people have said, this isn't a bug. It's how it is because of the new Home button on the 7.

I guess we all understand your point but if that is the case, then what is apple referring to in the beta release notes by saying "App closing animation appear to be fix on iPhone 7"?

I just wish we didn't always have to wait until release X.2 to get major bugs and annoyances fixed. Ever since iOS 7, X.0 and X.1 always have lots of annoying little problems.

I think it's more since iOS 8, given that iOS 7 didn't get 7.1 until months later and that was a fairly good stable release with most of what people were looking for.

Seems like since iOS 8 days they are woking a couple of releases ahead--by the time x.0 is released x.1 is already mostly feature complete and most new fixes and changes (short of some major/important issues) would already need to go into x.2 or later.

I think the problem is that the natural development cycle for a fully polished OS seems to be about 14 months* and they only have 12 months between new iPhone releases. So they have to finish up after the new iPhones arrive.

*I'm sure the actual cycle is more than 14 months, but I used that to illustrate my point. You may substitute the following:
  • Dev time = X
  • Available time = x-2 months

Someone here has put that. Not Apple...

People still think it's a bug so whenever they get a whiff of something that's changed, they'll put it down as a fix.
