iOS 10.3 Beta 1

All iOS 10 devices use the same app closing animation now. I updated my iPad and it uses the iPhone 7 animation when closing apps. Consistency! I like it!!!

What I am noticing is the app groups open and close a tad slower but are smoother and consistent now. They use to close super fast.

My iPad Air 2 on 10.2.1 was reporting:
Capacity: 121.99 GB
Available: 33.05

Now it shows:
Capacity: 124.48 GB
Available: 36.79 GB

The new APFS reduced the size of OS drastically.
Also it's still Beta 1 so iTunes is may be still not completely updated to go along with it..
I am sure new iTunes update will come with 10.3 release and fix it..

Also new Carrier Settings for Vodafone Germany: from 27.1 to 27.5.3

Well my point was the reported capacity. Certainly the available space can and should change and if the OS is smaller the available space should reflect it. But the capacity should not change. In my example, 64GB when you convert it is actually 59.6 gb. That shouldn't change. 64,000,000,000 bytes translates to 59.6 GB all said and done. Apparently what they were doing was reporting the usable capacity. But in 10.3 its doing something different. Usable cannot be more that the total so maybe they are not using the 1=1024 rule as far as reporting it. Also as @TylerL stated the available space could be due to his explanation since that's how APFS works. Interesting System Status app still reporting the 59.6 GB total disk space like iTunes is.

All of the wallpapers I posted in the quoted post run fine on the 7 Plus. Those are all examples of "good" wallpapers. You might have to experiment with some of your own to find your own good wallpapers if you don't wanna use mine. Lemme know what you think.

It drives me nuts that when I double tap to close and app, it freezes for like a second and it stutters to close an app. Is anyone experiencing this? This is the only beta I've noticed a slight freeze closing apps. 7+ here

I know it's beta and unpredictable etc etc, but is there any reason not to update with those one? I'm still on 10.1.1 in my 7+ and undecided whether I should stay or not.

Anyone running this beta and was expecting wifi calling from three today, just to let you know you won't receive the carrier update as the wifi calling version is 27.1 and the version on this beta is 27.5.1 so the phone obviously thinks it's on the newer one.

CarPlay has a nice new feature: the most recent 3 apps you have used stay in the left margin in icon form, even when you're in an app and not the home screen. So, say you're in Maps. If you were just in podcasts before that, a Podcasts app icon appear on the left margin and you can select that, rather than having to go back to the home-screen and then select it. Saves a click, and, more importantly, keeps your eyes on the road more.

I had the 7 Plus and I have the 7 now, and I feel that the experience is much better with this better, but how about the 7 Plus with 1 GB more RAM?

Installed, and.. you guys weren't kidding, this really is the most buttery smooth version since the iOS 6 days. Just buttery smooth transitions every time. Love it. There's still lag scrolling down the music app which I can't stand, but overall I'm loving the "boom, boom" snappiness of it. Impressive stuff.

Anyone else having issues with Haptic Feedback or vibrations? Twice now on 10.3 Developer Beta 1 (iP 7+), all of the 3D Touch Haptic Feedback as well as notification vibrations have randomly (as far as I can tell) stopped working until reboot...only feedback that still works when this happens is for the Home Button, all other feedback and vibration (even including the ring/vibrate switch) is gone.

Its always been like this, you have to wait for the animation to complete before you can do anything else on the home screen.

The same does not apply to closing an app. The screen, and the app, are immediately responsive.

I'm sure it's been discussed but am I the only one who is bothered with the black app opening (native Apple apps; when you first open it)? Maybe I just got used to it being white but it just looks so out of place.

For me there's a noticeable lag when passing from the main screen to the widget screen. It freezes for a small time and then the widgets appear
