Nope you're doing it right. However, the trick of going into that mode and then hard rebooting the phone seems to still get the trick of having dBm show up instead of dots. At least it did for me.

I don't see any option. :(

Regarding battery life, believe there is a battery drain issue with healthd (HealthKit). When I look in Instruments via Xcode, healthd often consumes >100% CPU. (Despite not showing up in Settings-Battery Usage.)

Is anyone else seeing this?

I'm wondering if that's the culprit for my battery life drain woes on standby.

How would I use Xcode to verify your idea ?

Something is churning the system, even in Standby as if it thinks the screen is on bright when it is actually off....

Use Instruments developer tool, Activity Monitor -- which allows you to see CPU usage. Open the Health app, close the Health app, and check out healthd process.

Open Instruments using a Mac ?

Yes. Plug in iPhone via USB. You might have to wait a few minutes for the iPhone to "process symbols". Once that's done, you can run instruments and see CPU and memory usage by process.

I am getting a crash in iMessage when I try to insert a photo. However, if I am in photos and use the share sheet to share using iMessage, no issue. Will file bug

Hi,

As part of my Rapid Battery Drain Issue, I have done some research on this using some Battery apps which tell me my battery has used / lost about 6% of its life capacity.

Tonite using iBackupBot it shows my battery charge cycle count at 744, which is well past Apple's lifetime count of 500.

My metrics vs actual battery drain don't jive with only 6% life-loss. I would expect a much greater life-loss after 744 charge cycles.....

Anybody have any thoughts ?

David
I would say your battery is old and needs to be replaced. Just my opinion.

I haven't seen this issue on my 7 plus. And I do this a few times a day at least.

Not an issue for me (7/64mb/AT&T). Did you try a hard reset?
