iP6+ 10.3 beta 2
Today my alarm was going off this morning so I muted it as usual.
When I tried accessing my alarm clock through my control panel from the locked screen, only 1/4 of the alarm screen was visible and the rest of the screen was still showing the locked screen image.
Also tried the other apps on the control panel while in the locked screen mode and same problem occurred.
Submitted as a bug.
Not sure if anyone else has come across this though, and this was the first time I saw that happen

Is there a new way to clear the notification center? I only had a notification from the calender app in my center and I accidentally swiped down on it and that revealed a "close" font and the notification fly away

And if anybody here is not experiencing the RAPID battery drain issue, I suggest you count your blessings because it renders your very expensive apple device darn near useless unless you keep it on charger 24/7..... That is why it needs to be discussed here.

It didn't do this before, and the only difference is the new beta series. Some thing is churning the processor / hardware behind even normal background stuff such that it does not allow for obvious/easy diagnosis.... Apple changed something in the heart of ios 10, that it seems they are unwilling or unable to repair....

Rant over

I think I traced down the battery drain problem to instant messaging services (Telegram and Whatsapp, maybe others). Ever since deleting both apps and rebooting, my iPhone 6s remains cool again and loses less than 1 percent of battery per hour. Before it drained at 20% per hour (standby time = usage time). Might be some listener daemon that does not let the device sleep properly. Would be great if somebody could try to confirm this.

My power button sometimes stops working when I try to press it to turn off the display. Still able to power it down by holding the button in but trying to simply turn the display off doesn't work. Has happened twice now with no clear cause.

While I have not had alarming battery drain under Beta 2 (I did, to some extent, under Beta 1), I do note that What'sApp does use a disproportionate amount of my battery life (13% over the last 12 hours).

But in checking that, I see that the Battery usage checking setting now only shows you percent use over the past 12 hours, and not the choice between last 24 hours or 7 days as it used to. Anyone else see this?

Nope, still 24 hours for me. Give it another 12 hours and it'll show 24 hours.

Also I'm pretty sure WhatsApp has always used a large amount of battery for no reason at all. It's always been like that for me.

Have Apple changed something as regards inertia scrolling in Safari? . It's scrolling faster like how Chrome and other browsers in iOS function

Whatsapp is notorious for battery since bought by FB, i turn off the Privacy-> Contacts-> Whatsapp as when i have contacts access battery drain is huge.

It is minor inconvenience but at least it doesn't use as much battery before.

You are correct! What causes it to reset? A restart? I've had this beta installed for a week.

I've noticed my phone have more and more stutters over the last week. Especially in snap chat and instagram apps and random areas of the OS. Anyone else?

Is anyone having issues with loving/disliking songs on Apple Music on iPhone/iPad?

Seems to work fine on Mac iTunes. On iOS, hearting to "love" a song, album, etc will not stick/save. Reverts back to previous state.

I think Apple Music overall is having issues on iOS right now. I can't seem to create or edit my playlists. The changes don't take.

Thanks for your reply! Interesting. Good to know. I am able to make changes to playlists, but not like/dislike.

Not seeing anything posted within http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/ (as usual).

Hopefully the issue clears up soon. Please let me know if you have any luck with loving/disliking tracks - so we can cross this potential bug/issue off.

I've had 2 playlists delete themselves even though I undid the operation on iTunes AND updated my iCloud Music Library. Not too sure what's going on.

I am trying this right now.

Started at 50% Already down to 43% after maybe 10 minutes....

I would revert back to 10.2.1 and see if the battery issues persist. If they do, take it in to Apple to see if they will replace the battery under warranty.

Yeah, me too. Same apps stutter pretty bad, I tried uninstalling but nothing.

I can't reproduce this bug on demand, but it happens occasionally whenever I invoke NC from the homescreen.

The bug is that spotlight opens simultaneously as the NC does. Get some wonky animations if I open up a notification (the spotlight shade flickers in and out).

Every variant of 10.2.X has rapid battery drain issues for me. I have told my wife to stay on 10.1.1 in order to keep her matching iP6 battery drain normal.

I had tried going back to 10.2.1 release a few weeks ago and nothing changed.

Does it happen with one swipe, or is there something else you have to do to invoke the issue? Try to take a video of the issue if you can.

It is one continuous swipe. I really am not sure why this happens, as I am not swiping any differently than when it works.
What I am guessing is that there is a space where both spotlight and NC get activated, or potentially a certain swipe velocity affects this.

Making a video of the swipe would be very difficult. Although the symptoms of the bug last until the device is locked.

Hi,

As part of my Rapid Battery Drain Issue, I have done some research on this using some Battery apps which tell me my battery has used / lost about 6% of its life capacity.

Tonite using iBackupBot it shows my battery charge cycle count at 744, which is well past Apple's lifetime count of 500.

My metrics vs actual battery drain don't jive with only 6% life-loss. I would expect a much greater life-loss after 744 charge cycles.....

Anybody have any thoughts ?

David

With my iPhone 6 I lost nearly 17% of battery life capacity after 550 cycles so had to replace the battery. 744 cycles and only 6% lost is indeed very extrange...but lucky you
