To be honest iOS 10.3 does nothing. It brought only APFS and minor improvements. Still nothing changed in performance. Hopefully they'll do everything on time. Maybe we are about one month before apple keynote

APFS is a big change in performance (much improved app loading time and overall responsiveness on iPad retina mini). And changing filesystem (as flawless as with HFS+ to APFS) is a big engineering effort.

Ios 10.3 absolutely has made my netrry issues worse...I wasn't even sure that was possible but they have done it. Drains faster and now dies at 40% instead of 30% (and yes I have tried every conceivable fix out there). I'm on a 6 which apple won't even admit has battery problems but it a simple Google search is all you need to see that it's truly rampant and effecting 6 as well as 6s phones.

6s has a battery replacement program in place. Having said that, my 6s doesn't exhibit those symptoms and 10.3 beta 2 is generally very good.

new (?) bug: when looking at PDFs in iCloud Drive for a longer time (20-30 min) and after that you open another PDF in iCloud Drive, it always shows the first PDF you have looked at, no matter which PDF you'll open

Getting the same usage/standby usage on this build.
Same here randomly. Also pulled 17+ hrs usage on ip6s or so it said. But the apps in list were no where near that and that's pretty much bogus on an ip6s.

I don't get why everyone always follows the battery usage on every beta. It's a fools errand as there are processes and logs in the betas that aren't in the final builds. It's a waste of time and clogs these, otherwise, useful threads.
well in some regards like for example this particular beta, battery stats is broken. So reporting that is worthy of this thread. Now maybe not the "I got 12 hrs" or the "I only get 6 hrs" posts but certainly issues with the reporting of the battery usage and battery stats issues should be discussed.

Any body noticed that from ios 10.2.1 final till now on 10.3 beta 2, there is problem with playing videos on apple tv with or without mirroring mode! I tried with my friend iPhones which they are on 10.2.1 too and they have the problem like me! I test this on apple tv 3 and 4 and they act the same! Apps like infuse cannot playback videos on apple tv even in mirroring mode or background play back witch is more important.

No idea?

Hope next update could improve macrumors website mobile view display. It looks not right comparing with iOS 10.3 beta 1.

My battery issue seemed to be calibration , dropped to 1% and stayed there for four hours until it died got about 6 hours use from my 6splus . Today seems to be no more crazy dropping lots , still not great but acceptable for a beta

After continuing to have the iCloud backups on this beta, I've managed to get 2 good backups the last two days. Not sure what changed suddenly, but I will take it.

I am still experiencing the issue with no app-specific battery usage details - this one started with the install of beta 2.

With that said, no software is without bugs, even fully tested and released software. So, if these are the biggest issues with a beta release that I am experiencing, I can live with it for now.

It's exactly the same for me...

Stayed a lot of minutes and then dropped a lot

Was getting the same standby and usage on this beta and battery life was all over the place, so I ran the battery down completely and all is ok again.... for now.

One recurring bug I'm seeing is what may be a Spotlight crash. I'll type in a search term to find an app and get a completely blank page. Only a restart fixes the issue.

There's also a change in app update behavior. Update All would previously start updating all apps with available updates simultaneously. Now, the updates are triggered one at a time over several seconds, possibly to spread out resource usage. One bug that may have been introduced here is that, occasionally, an app will hang on update and present an update failure modal dialog (OK vs. Retry).

And if anybody here is not experiencing the RAPID battery drain issue, I suggest you count your blessings because it renders your very expensive apple device darn near useless unless you keep it on charger 24/7..... That is why it needs to be discussed here.

It didn't do this before, and the only difference is the new beta series. Some thing is churning the processor / hardware behind even normal background stuff such that it does not allow for obvious/easy diagnosis.... Apple changed something in the heart of ios 10, that it seems they are unwilling or unable to repair....

Rant over

Seems the battery stats are sorta wonky win this release. Had same stdby/usage issue once and an astronomical usage reported in the summary (below pic) without the apps showing that usage time. Did a "reset all settings" and it seems to have solved it for now.

This is a beta, if the issue is reported it will get fixed. For those who might experience it, I don't, keep reporting it.

Well I have to say that after all the problems with battery I did a restore backup with iCloud, and it seems like "something" fixed it.Im now 7% at midnight after a day of full use over wifi what is really ok for me since 11:00 morning.I recommend you to restore your backup, I did it without iTunes btw.

Hi everyone,

I noticed the Field Test page changed on 10.3 beta 2, and no longer get the numeral rssi for signal. Is anyone else seeing this? Am I doing something wrong?

*3001#12345#*

Thanks.

Nope you're doing it right. However, the trick of going into that mode and then hard rebooting the phone seems to still get the trick of having dBm show up instead of dots. At least it did for me.

My YouTube app started acting funny today. Videos fail to play. Other YouTube apps like ProTube work fine. Only happens with YouTube. Not sure if beta related or YouTube app related. No app updates out but maybe it was a server side update that broke something.

Edit: NVM according to twitter lots of folks having issues with YouTube app. Seems app is having issues. Not beta related.
