There's nothing for Apple to fix. The issue is a stuck app/process. Could be that the offending app may need to be updated by the dev after 10.3 is released. Usually a hard reboot resolves the issue, though sometimes only temporarily.

Going back to iOS 10.2.1 fixes the problem. Fresh install of iOS 10.3 betas brings back the battery draining problem. Strange because in the Battery usage section all the usages of the apps seems pretty normal. But somehow usage time is same as standby and the battery drains without any usage.

Yep the battery stats section was a mess in b2 and b3 with something internally hanging (not appearing as any particular app using battery). Either showing lots of phantom drainage or usage/stdby showing the same times. Or inflated usage (like 17 hrs on iPhone 6s when not really used more than an hour or so). 10.2.1 and 10.3 b1 worked fine. @dwfaust you are correct that there is some process hanging up but it seems its a built in one that Apple needs to address. And yes typically a reboot would solve it temporary. So far beta 4 has been ok even though only a few hours. I charged up 100% just after update and showing 3 min usage and 2 hr 6 min standby and 100% remaining. Of course b2 and 3 would be fine then all of a sudden go down the crapper the next day so we shall see.

Yes, it should never be discussed.
Oops broke your rule again. In fairness I didn't see this post until afterwards. Hope you are not grieving to bad.

Not sure about others but iOS 10.3 betas have been a treat for my iPhone 5s. Majority of the animations are nice and smooth, opening/closing apps, typing on the keyboard, using 3rd party keyboards, etc. all seems to work flawlessly. Hope it stays this way even after 10.3 is released to everyone.

Home screen dock turn grey about a 1 sec and when double click to home button, animation isn't the expected behavior.

no, iphone 7 plus.

Is this after a reboot? The gray dock looks like the Reduce Transparency dock.
[doublepost=1488239825][/doublepost]Anyone notice that the widget list seems tighter? The list items seem to have shrunk in size.

Just stop moaning about battery life already.. It's a f* beta, some app could just not be 100% compatible. And don't run a beta if your so worried about your battery. Stop flooding your battery bs in this topic and report it to Apple.

You'd think this is a person first rodeo running betas with all these battery comments....... You can search back at least 8 years and see the same type of post, in every beta thread, about dismal battery....think people would learn by now...

What a silly thing to say. So because it's a beta, why even have this thread to report anything eh? Battery life is pretty fundamental and everyone here understands it's a beta.

I know it's a beta, but here's to hoping that battery drain on my 7 Plus has been minimalized.

The iOS 10.3 betas have been a little hit and miss for me. Plagued with laggy animations and battery drain issues right back from beta 1. I was contemplating removing the beta altogether, but I decided it was easier to just install the update, and I'm glad I did!

Wow! I've just installed beta 4 on my iPhone 7 Plus, and the performance is phenomenal! The lag has certainly gone, but I'm not sure on the battery drain yet. Mine is currently on charge ready for tomorrow. Had to run a Geekbench to make sure. Attached are my results, and also the results published on the geekbench website for the iPhone 7 Plus.

It will be interesting to hear what everyone else's experiences are after they have used it for a few days.

Hmmm... seems like whilst I was typing the above, my battery lost 2%, despite it being plugged in to the wall....

Breathe, it's 1:30am, I'm sure it will be OK.

Yep it does seem like the space between items has been trimmed down a little.

Not sure who this was to but apparently you are not quite understanding the point of this thread. That is to discuss bugs, performance, changes and enhancements. And while there may be a one or two discussing poor battery life in general, just like every other iOS version in history, most of this battery discussion here is regarding the battery stats app and reporting in settings.app that has been bunked up in the last two iOS 10.3 betas. So if that is of no interest to you and you do not care if the settings.app has issues in the battery section just bypass the post. If you have anything to add please do. Everyone here knows what a beta is and what to expect but speaking for myself (if your post was directed at me), I am not worried about my battery life, just simply pointing out a bug in one of the built-in apps.

I think this is the final release. Probably in 2 weeks this exact build will drop for the public. I'm assuming this because A.), it's beta 4, a lot of these less major updates have gone for 4 betas and B.) because it ran me through the setup screen upon updating, which I don't think the other betas did, and it seem like usually the final beta makes me go through that screen.

But yeah, very little has changed. I was expecting more like a 9.3 sort of update where it was a MONUMENTAL difference in terms of speed, fluidity, and bug fixes. It was incredible. iOS 10 isn't bad but theres definitely some little issues that still need working out that I am surprised have made it this far. Like quick reply still seems to be iffy, and other quirky animation problems and bugs.

Anyone else notice around beta 2 that sliding down for spotlight fails sometimes? Like nothing will happen when you try to swipe down the home screen and it kinda hangs everything. The way to fix is to engage spotlight from the notification center search bar I believe or search bar at the top of the widget screen to the left of the home screen. Kinda annoying.
New bug. When you change wallpaper in settings and immediately press home you'll see old wallpaper which changes to the new one. It's a really weird bug
I noticed this bug before this current beta. Possibly even before 10.3, or iOS 10 altogether.
App switcher animation bug still present... After 30 minute usage, it appears again like beta 3.
This bug present since ios 10.0...

i use my iphone 7 plus in default settings.
This is annoying me too! You talking about the weird little bounce whenever you go into the app switcher from an app?

Wow! A 300 point increase? That's pretty crazy! Usually software updates only make it fluctuate by ~50 points at most, which is pretty much nothing. Perhaps the new filesystem is really getting hammered out now and is helping performance across the board?

I did a geekbench test on my 7 Plus as well and also got like 5700 where I distinctly remember getting more like 5300-5500 in older versions. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong lol.

Anyone noticed that you can no longer permanently disable saving passwords in Safari? It's asking me to save passwords in iCloud even though previously I disabled saving passwords for all sites.

No. After update my iphone 7 plus to 10.3 beta 4, i use 30 minute(minimal use) and like beta 3, app switcher animation change. Yes it is like reduce tranparency but reduce tranparency option is off. I use my phone in default setting.

Yes absolutly i'm talking about that little bounce and the grey dock. It's very very anoying. I sent bunch of feedback about that bug since ios 10 but they didn't fix. They only change that animation behaviour but it is still buggy and like i said, after update to ios 10.3 beta 4, this bug show up after 30 minutes. I don't know what is trigger that bug.
