You know many people are wanting Apple to feature the dark mode, Foxconn. Well, we would see what it looks like when iOS 10.3 beta 1 comes out. Stay tuned!

Oh that was a sudden change of mind from it's never coming, period.

Well... Dark mode aka Theather mode is inevitable. This year Apple is going to (or not) introduce OLED displays in iPhones and other products, so this is test and ofcourse getting ready for battery savings on OLEDs.

Dark mode for iOS would bring pretty dang good battery savings on a next gen OLED iphone with A11, sounds about right.. it would look quite awesome with say a black curved OLED iPhone 8 with dark theme.. itll blend right into the edges the inky blacks

I hope one thing only .... app switcher smooth like 9.3
We need a improved app switcher, it is clunky and slow compared to Nougat... vertical scroll and bigger app boxes to tap on

A dark mode would be awesome. But would Apple really call dark mode 'Theatre Mode'? It just seems like such a random choice for a name, as there's many other places you might want a dark screen besides just a theatre. But I guess "night mode" could be too close to "night shift".. and "dark mode" might be like.. offensive to someone, somewhere, or something? I dunno, I can't imagine why they wouldn't just call it that.

All this cos of a random twitter guy saying it, its rubbish nothing is gonna come out jan 10 apart from same 10.2.1 release maybe

It's a good point that "Dark Mode" could be confused with Night Shift. Theatre Mode sounds a bit more plausible to me now.

But then there's the backlash for Apple "encouraging phone use at the theatre" to consider...

Theatre mode should accompany with light sensor to provide better results.
And, I have a sense that "theatre mode" is not the equivalent of dark mode we all hope or what we can see from "Eclipse" jailbreak tweak.

The real leak comes from the Chinese workers these people seem to pay to leak some corporate secrets. Not sure what I find more disgusting. And yes, when an Apple product turns gold, that's hardly a news that can be held back for long.

Understand these "workers" are getting paid $2.50 an hour so $500 is like a fortune to them; more then some make per month.

Totally different culture over there. And to them they are not leaking corporate secrets, it's just photos of some items they are assembling. Again, it's a different mentality. China has never been big on intellectual property in their society (hence why all the clones of everything come from China).

I get the wages. A lot of money for some folks, that's how bribing works in general.
Just worth to point out how these geniuses do their "work".

Lol if Apple unveils a dark mode now, what are they going to have to headline for iOS 11's great features in june

Something else? They did unveil night shift with iOS 9.3 and still released iOS 10 just fine.

This is the concept for the rumoured dark mode. Look at control center, where is this new popcorn shaped button?
