I don't think it's a bug. If you hit the app switcher so fast it's probably because you hit the app by mistake or don't want to use that app anymore, so they cancel the opening to save resources
Well, that may be true. But from a design perspective it just doesn't look consistent. So Apple needs to at least change the animation. Now it looks like a UI bug or even crash. :p

Exactly, it is not a camera feature, it is an API feature for third party apps, as Apple has stated.

However, we do know that it works since there are developers who have successfully saved photos as RAW and then posted them online. So the functionality works.

Last weeks beta fixed this.
So, my bad - it worked only in Messages for me in DB5...

So apparently the slow app issue is caused by indexing following an iOS update....load of rubbish. It's a new bug that Apple will sort. But it shows how much some people on here have no clue about how iOS works. Sad really.

I just ran into some graphical glitches when clearing notifications from the pull down.

Since the first betas, I have the problem that the display doesn't turn off always on my iPad Air 2. It stays on and on and on. Filed a bug, uploaded several stackshots, but I was still able to reproduce that with dev beta 5.

Does anyone have the same problem?

I've actually noticed this a few sometimes on my 9.7" iPad Pro. Think I've even noticed it a couple times on 6s. When it has occurred it's been random. Not when I'm using a specific app or anything.

I'm doing the public beta and haven't played with all the new bells and whistles yet, but I did notice the changes under the photos app. Will the user be able to arrange them in the order they want, or is this pretty much a done deal?

I just posted in the Wiki that Predictive Emoji working in iOS Mail now and maybe other apps...

Just tried it out and it's working on an iP 6S and 6S+....
I'm not seeing it on my 6S+ still. I had it in an earlier beta but can't get it to reappear. Is there something I need to do to re-enable it?

Why do you still think theres going to be a dark mode in iOS 10.0?
Speaking that the code for it is in iOS 10, and has been discovered to work, I for one and many others are still waiting for it to be available for use. It could appear later in the year or could never make it to be usable. For now it's a project that was never finished, that is hidden unless uncovered by system devs or hackers on a computer.

Try the previously-suggested "force fix" - I did this with my Air 2 and Pro, the latter of which I installed the Beta for the first time, over the latest iOS 9 version.

I switched to the Messages app on each iPad, then enabled the Emoji Keyboard and sent about a dozen Messages to an iPhone I own - Predictive Emoji started working in the Standard English Keyboard and the Google Slash Keyboard in Messages and in iOS Mail.

Anyway, on topic, I wonder if I'll get voicemail transcription this time. Theoretically I meet all the requirements (iPhone SE, T-Mobile US and Visual Voicemail) but no go, so far.
I have the 6s+, T-Mobile US and Visual Voicemail and get the voicemail transcriptions already. Interesting.

Hmm, according to this video iOS 10 is very often faster than iOS 9:

iOS 9 may have supposedly been the performance release but iOS 10 seems to do it better. And this is an x.0 beta compared to a final version as well. Very nice.

You know I think 10 is faster. I suspect better optimized and the un-encrypted kernel are the reasons. BUT this guys videos are crap. The devices are never configured the same, (one no lock screen the other one does, news app on separate pages, etc) The devices need to be setup identical to be a fair comparison. Even then its subjective whether the taps are exactly the same. Subconsciously one could make the results appear as one wants by the ever so slight different taps. At the very least they should be configured exactly the same across the board.

So true. I suspect the makers of these types of videos have never heard of metrology.

It's not slower, for the second time of saying. Open an app and immediately press the Home button, it closes instantly.

Oh and if you don't want animations, turn on Reduce Motion. Stop moaning, seriously, Apple can't, and won't please everyone.
But problem is the animation is not slower even with reduce motion on. It changes the animation but not drastically reduce the time. What we need is in reduce motion, when pressing home button while in an app, iOS should instantly return to home screen. And when calling out app switcher, app switcher should also show up instantly. Every single system animation should be eliminated.
