Why is everyone so obsessed with Dark Mode?

Because lots of us want the option to have a dark themed OS because iOS can be an eye sore, especially at night time. Also I think iMessage would just look nicer with a dark theme. But Apple are against giving us too much customisation so it's not gonna happen.

At least the "Hidden" photo album.

YES! We have locking Notes, why didn't they give us locking photo albums? Actually, when I think about this, it's a really good idea. A feature like this would have potentially stopped most of the content that got leaked during the celebrity iCloud 'hack' (although nothing got hacked) fiasco. You could put all of your 'risky' photos into one album and give that album a totally different password to any you use anywhere else.

This way, if 'hackers' gained access to your iCloud account, they'd still have to guess the password for your locked photo albums.

I'd like to know, can anyone tell me if the public beta is stable enough for a daily drive?

Only you can decide. It seems fairly stable to me.

However, if you're interviewing for jobs and missing a call can cost you an opportunity, I'd not run the beta.

If you're a doctor and missing a call could mean someone dies, I'd not run the beta either.

If you're an IT guy like me who had multiple contact methods and works in a non-critical environment, sure why not. Just archive a backup before upgrading.

Etc.

Maps Transit widget still isn't working for me on iPhone 6s Plus.

Works properly on iPad Pro (9.7) and iPad mini.
Blank on iPhone 6s Plus.

Tried messing with Accessibility "Speech" settings - which fixed the widget on previous beta. Toggling Speak Screen forced widget to start working. But beta 6 and 7 has broken the Transit widget again.

Just over 3 weeks from the event, I'm guessing this will be final beta unless anything critical is broken in this one.

If nothing has changed it's obvious that they're done with the bug fixes. Maybe one more beta before GM

No this won't be the last. Dark Mode will be included in the GM once the new iPhone is announced. There are also still a few known bugs that need fixing before this is prod ready.

You're welcome.

Kind of interesting how the timestamp for this Kernel is one second behind / exactly the same as iOS 10 beta 6's time. Release notes look exactly the same, too.

How in the world does dark mode being introduced in the GM have anything to do with what I said. Every single year since iOS was a thing, there has been a minimum of a 2-3 week gap between final beta and the event with the release of the GM. I'm almost certain this is the final beta unless there is something critical.

I think so. I jumped onboard with Public Beta 3 and it's only gotten better each update. I think the entire time I've been on it, I've had a couple of springboard restarts and one crash. But that hasn't happened in a while.

I'm running it on a 64GB iPhone 6.

Reposting from beta 6 thread.
Is it related to the beta or Workflow app that prefs=root: url schemes doesn't work? Also the widget is bugged:

I dont think apple is against customization in this case as u said they are more like thinking business, eg it will be the main feature of ios 11 and the new OLED displays in the new iphone 8/7s so it generates more interest and a selling point that leads to revenue...

It's honestly been stable enough for a daily driver for the past 2-3 betas, in my experience.

Thank you for the feedback :)

That might not be a problem for me since my iPhone is personal, I have a phone provided by the company I work for, so no worries. Just I want to try IOS 10 out and just want it to work properly. :)

Well, certainly something has changed, otherwise there wouldn't be a new build.
