Except for, like, a critical security fix, perhaps a battery life issue, they just felt like it, etc.

Or they felt that everything was solid enough to seed the last beta as they start to load the GM on all iPhones that are currently being built for shipment in 1 month.

Where's the beta for watchOS, then? Seems likely that the Watch is going to be announced at the September event, too.

But since it whooshed right over your head, my point: You know exactly nothing about Apple's beta release plans. Unless you're Craig Federighi's secret account.

There was no AppleTV, macOS or watchOS betas released. So its possible all of those are done and are ready for the GM build. Again, its not unusually for weeks to go by between the final build and the event with the announcement of the GM.

I'm still not all that convinced we are getting a watch next month. Releasing both a watch and iPhone at the same event seems unlikely. iPhones and Macs yes, and then maybe Watch and iPads in October/November like previous years. They typically break them up because they know people aren't going to go out and buy 2+ products at once.

Even this year with a bunch of beta surprises, Apple is still a creature of habit. Ive been using betas for years and years. Things still have a time table that Apple sticks to. And even with the surprises, the timing is still the same.

This may be the last beta before the GM.

Or maybe it's the GM, who knows.

I'm happily jailbroken on 9.3.3 and will probably upgrade to 10.1 when it's out.

You know where I am when you're proved wrong.

I love it. People like you claim to know things but it's obvious you don't.

Let me guess. Your mate's best mate's cousin's sister's mate works at Apple?

Guys, that's it. We should all listen to this person.

Technically they can do that (and have been doing that before) without releasing a beta update that matches that build.

Still no left button icon at the bottom of the "Now Playing" screen in Music. Weird.

There is a left button when it's a song in your library but not downloaded for offline. The button is a cloud icon (see screenshot)

I am aware of that, but if you download the song, the button disappears, but if you tap the invisible spot, a dialog will come up asking if you want to delete the song.

PLEASE don't reset all the "Faces" data in photos again. I spent hours last night doing this again. haha!

Can confirm, Faces data did NOT reset...but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets reset in the GM version once it comes out.

iOS 7, 8 and 9 GM all ended with a number.

iOS 7 - 11A465
iOS 8 - 12A365
iOS 9 - 13A340/13A341

The person I quoted specifically stated GM candidate, not GM. He said that this beta still has a letter so its not a candidate, but as I proved from last year, the final beta still had a letter as well.

With the number of known issues in the Release notes I would say with a 99.9% probability that this is not the GM candidate.
