Background app refresh resets back to on all apps instead how I’ve had it WiFi only and some apps wtffff apple

Happened to my yesterday, the funny thing is that it also happened in iOS 10.

Yeah it happened all the time in iOS 10. I was hoping it would have been fixed in iOS 11. A work around is to kill the Settings app any time you make a change to the background setting for an app.

How is battery life?

Hit or miss. I’m convinced the new “Siri” search functionality causes battery drain at times.

My guess is that iOS 11 was designed with the 8's 4 low power CPUs in mind. The 7 has 2 low power CPU's but unlike the 8, they can’t be active at the same time as the high power ones. The 6s and below have no low power CPU cores so I expect those to be the hardest hit.

Having multiple keyboard related issues with this release on my iPhone 7:

1) In Safari Address Bar searches when typing search into address bar, 9/10 times my spacebar entry comes out as a period instead of the space I entered between search terms. Apple claims they didn't narrow the Safari Address Bar-specific keyboard (which has the shorter spacebar to fit in the '.' on the right end for web addresses), but I've never had this issue before iOS 11.

2. In Messages when actively texting, after my recipient responds to my message I cannot view their response in Landscape mode. They keyboard/text field area blocks it and I cannot 'scroll' the new message text up manually to view as it rolls back down disappearing behind the keyboard/text field again.

Anybody else experiencing these keyboard related issues? Do you know if iOS 11 Beta has same issues?

When i downgrade from iOS 11.1 beta 1 to 11.0.2 from iTunes in normally mode from iPhone and then i go in DFU mode and click on restore they show me restore and update why?

Will this be fixed? Two “point” version updates and the annoying volume hud still there in some app browsers.

I’m having issue number 2 on WhatsApp. What I do is go back to the chat list screen and click on the chat again. It works then. Don’t worry, it’ll be fixed.

iOS on iPhone 7 Plus has been a disaster so far. I’m running 11.0.2 and the issues are:

- applications freezing,
- phone freezing (only force restart works),
- Siri respond with “how can I help?” To everything and does nothing,
- all photos changed to low res, even those taken with iPhone,
- iTunes lock screen plugin showing no music playing,
- Bluetooth audio shows no information about played music. Unknown only

It’s a long list which makes my phone pretty much unusable. It’s not that I can avoid using applications. I really hope this gets sorted very soon.

Literally my iPhone 7 Plus right now.

My iPhone 7 & 7+ are still on 10.3.3

My iPhone 6s is still on 9.3.5

Anyone want to but them?

Seriously. Apple really screwed the pooch with releasing this iOS too early.
We are now up to a 3rd update in as many weeks!
I have a pathetic ADSL1 connection & with each update coming in at around 2.45GB it is taking me hours.
We have three iPhones, each need to download their own update so I've now chewed through over 22GB of data and around 18-hours of download time.
Awesome work Apple.
And my battery run-time totally sucks since the updates.

If you do an OTA update it's only about 278 MB each which isn’t that large.

It’s only 2.4 GB if you update through iTunes and of that’s the case you don’t need to download the update for each phone as it stores the download.

Personally I don’t know why anyone would update through iTunes though if you don’t have to. I never update through iTunes.

Anyone get super crazy lag for about 5-10 seconds sometimes after unlocking their 8 Plus?

Maybe happens once or twice a day. I'll unlock my phone and swiping / animations will be visibly laggy and stuttery. Then suddenly it clears up and everything is smooth again. Had it on 11.0 - 11.0.2.

Because when you restore using iTunes and set it up as new, the phone runs faster and the battery life is a whole lot better.

Here is my battery life on my iPhone 7 (32GB). The phone's battery reports having gone through 74 battery cycles. 11.0.2 was clean-installed in DFU mode using iTunes and the phone was set up as new, i.e. no restore from back-up. 6.8GB of the storage is used.

I wanted to see how much I could squeeze out with basic usage. Some notes on the configuration/usage; a) only one widget is running (Fantastical), b) notifications are limited to Fantastical, Phone, Messages, FaceTime, Mail, App Store, Telegram and Wallet, c) Assistive Touch is off, d) Reduce Motion is on, e) Location service is only on for Find My iPhone and Google Maps 'While Using', Share My Location is off and all three settings under Product Improvement are turned off, f) Apps using iCloud are only Notes and Safari, iCloud Drive is on with no 3rd party apps using iCloud, Photos are not using iCloud, and back-up to iCloud is off, g) Auto Brightness is on, h) Lock sound is off and all Vibration is off, i) Raise To Wake setting is off, j) Siri is not enabled, Suggestions in Search and Suggestions in Look Up are off, and Search and Siri Suggestions are off for all apps, k) Dictation is enabled, but not used, l) Bluetooth is off in Settings, only on/off when syncing with FitBit 3-4 times, m) AirDrop Receiving is Off, n) Handoff is off, o) Background Refresh is off, and p) I have 2 mail accounts (using the stock app) connected to Exchange and push for both accounts is on. Finally, I have not used FaceTime or VoIP during this time, 4-5 short phone calls, and Mobile Data is off when on Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi is off (in Settings) when using Mobile Data. The phone has been connected to the internet all the time, and Airplane Mode has not been on.

As you see I got 11 hrs, 15 min Usage and 73 hrs, 2 min Standby at 1% left. Low Power Mode has been off until it hit 20%, then on, and have not done any audio/video streaming and no games.

Furthermore, I have not experienced any problems as freeze, lags, frame drops or any other unexpected issues. On the contrary, everything has been smooth and fast.

In summary, with this configuration and usage I am perfectly happy with 11.0.2 on my iPhone 7, and the battery life. Normally, I would use Siri and Dictation, FaceTime and VoIP, which will take some juice. If 11.0.3 and upwards is better than this, I would be more than happy indeed.

That’s a myth, but even if that was true, there’s no point setting up as new after every minor update.

I restored and haven’t noticed too many random slow downs and glitches. Battery life is good too. Look at all the other guys who updated OTA.

I restored my 7 Plus to iOS 11.0.2 and set it up as new too. Battery life was a whole lot better. No random glitches. It really works.
