My alarm works as it should. 3D Touch the clock icon and the option comes right up. (iPhone 7)

yes, but that is different from 3D touching from control center. In the home screen you are toggling the whole app itself, while on control center, every function (alarm, chronometer, etc.) is one different buttong, that's why youre getting teh vibrations for the alarms, there is no 3D touch options there in control center.
OK, maybe I'm not understanding then. From control center if I 3D touch the clock/timer icon I get an option to set a timer for up to 2 hours. From the home screen icon of the clock a 3D touch gives me multiple options, set alarm, stopwatch or timer. Is this how it's supposed to work?
Hi both, I am force touching the alarm icon specifically in the control centre which is giving the multiple haptic feedback bumps. Not to worry if it does nothing!

I have a little nervous for upgrading iOs 11 GM.
Can somebody talk to me about battery life, smoothness? Better or worse than iOs 10.3.3.
My phone is 6s+.

I unplugged my phone at midnight and left it overnight. I expected a good 5-10% drop in percentage but it never leaked a drop! Happy with that! Still to use throughout a normal day so I’ll know more today or tomorrow, I’m expecting it to be similar to iOS 10 tbh.

Just got the calculator issue which isn’t a show stopper I must admit.

Impressed up to now.

Battery life is worse than iOS 10. Smoothness is slightly less but tolerable. You will definitely notice the home button delay though. It takes longer for an app to quit when you click the home button and you can no longer stop the app from loading midway if you click on one accidentally.

If you charge your phone to 100% it will not drop overnight as iOS doesn’t show the full charge status in its battery percentage. A drop from 100% to 99% takes 30 minutes of use while if you are on 65% or so expect a drop of 6% if you keep your phone on LTE overnight. Battery life is definitely worse than iOS 10.

The weather widget refresh bug is still alive. Also I did a clean install. (via dfu mode) Widget and the App show different °C.

Is this good battery life iPhone 7

If I set the weather to "always" on privacy, it updates the weather widget correctly, if it's set as "only while using", it doesn't update location or temperature. Shouldn't it update regardless of the setting?

I'd like to know this as well, currently set to Only While Using

weather it's weird sometimes the weather widget display one thing and the app another

Set it to always. It’s because it updates location to the last known geo fence location in the background. So when you scroll on to it, it uses that info right away to update. And since you don’t open the app often it can’t update it in the widget. Widgets are designed a little differently. Eitherway mines been very smooth. If anything I’ll test with it set to only while using. Never an issue except with weatherbug app.

Yes WiFi is on, why should that affect weather?

Geo fencing doesn’t work correctly when it’s off. It updates location less frequently. Sucks cause my Android device does well regardless. I wish Apple would improve it. A lot.

Mine is set to "Always" and the widget won't update. This morning the widget still read "109 - Phoenix" even though I was waking up to a "cool" 83 degrees in Mesa.

Odd. But try it with WiFi also on. Report back if that makes a difference.

Really you guys got me freaked in figuring out why I don’t have any issues.

Why doesn’t turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in control centre turn off it totally?
It only seems to stop any new connections.

I've updated iOs 11 GM, maybe I'll check it within 2 - 3 days and review whether I could remain or downgrade before iOs 11 releasing.
Annually, we take a long time (through 2 or 3 firmware version, ex 10.0.1, 10.1) to get a smooth version. So, I'm willing to wait.

They think it'll help our saving battery life a little.

It’s a bug. Mine doesn’t update aswell. Reported and got marked as duplicate.

Oh didn't know that but I have 10.3.3 and that's always happened to me the app always updates it correctly

I'm so curious to see if there is lag on the iPhone 8 home button when exiting an app.

If there is it confirms a bug or chosen behavior for iOS 11. If there isn't it confirms planned obsolescence for the iPhone 7.

It's one of my favorite things about my 7. How instant it responds (in ios 10.3.3) compared to any other physical button equipped iOS device I've used. It's just awesome and makes the device feel fluid and fast. Seriously if you haven't used an iPhone 7 with iOS 10 try it out. Yes the half second to second makes a difference in day to day use and feel. And I bet it was jarring for those who have updated it to iOS 11. I haven't taken the plunge yet and I won't until I see that this is fixed. Those of you who have a 7 and get the iPhone 8 please let us know the behavior of the home button on iOS 11. I'm betting the 8 will respond just as the 7 did with iOS 10. If it doesn't then I think it's really weird for them to change the behavior back to a slower response time.

hi, i am using ipad pro 9'7. from beta 1 to GM, my ipad is always laggy when closing all apps while using gestures. when using the home button feels slower than usual. even when multitasking also feels laggy

does anyone experience the same thing with me on your iPad Pro ?

My iPad Mini 4 lags too on iOS 11. Meanwhile I've gone back to 10.3.3 and I hope that there will be a fix for those annoying stutters.

I get that the delay has to be fixed and any other issues, especially for folks who are sensitive to fluidity issues. For some folks, the delay is just not a big deal. I just don’t think it’s worth not upgrading. Overall, 11 is ahead of 10 at the same time of release. The new iPad multitasking features alone are seriously worth the upgrade.

I’m happy with 11. Do I want it to improve and smooth out? Yes and it will.

So they removed 3D Touch multitasking because of the iPhone X, but didn't include an alternative for everyone not on their new flagship phone.

Now, I don't really buy into the whole planned obsolescence thing normally, buy this is just plain old stupid. Why remove a feature to make room for another feature, if the other feature doesn't apply on most phones?
They didn’t remove it because of the iPhone X.

I think people forget that there was an ugly stutter when the home button was clicked on the iPhone 7 when it first came out. I dont think it was until 10.2 was released before that bug was fixed. ios 11 will keep getting better as time goes along. I agree that 10.3.3 is great on the iPhone 7 so I would recommend most people stick to that until 11.2 comes out at least if you are worried about bugs, stutter, lags etc

Big bug still present - trying to open the timer or stopwatch from control center while the phone is locked results in an immediate crash of the app the moment it’s opened.

I did a search to see if this has been brought up before, but when I added my cards to Apple Pay today on the GM, the text message from my Chase Credit Card came through and auto populated into the field without me even having to open the message.

This has always annoyed me about text message authentication, even though its a simple step, so this was a very welcomed little function.

Please stop with this silly justification. I never had any problems using double click on iOS 10. The home button is performing exactly the same as how it would perform on iOS 10 if home button click speed is set to slower. I confirmed this.

I just updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 11 and it’s now having the same problem as does my Air 2. iOS 10 is instant. At least admit the bug exists instead of justifying it.

I'm not justifying. It's a bug. I said it was a bug and explained the nature of it.

Look, I'm not really interested in talking to you. You pull the same routine every year and it's tedious. Even the Android/alternatives subforum is tired of it. Let's not talk.

I haven't gone through the entire thread, but just last night noticed my 6S+ and iPad Air both were not running Night Shift, even though it was set to automatically begin at sunset and end at sunrise. I changed from auto to manual to force the shift, but clearly there is a bug I'll need to report. Going to re-start the phone to see if that has an effect on the shift tonight.

Ah I see. Must have misunderstood the post then :)
