General iOS 11.0 GM Bug Fixes And Changes

I’m getting reasonably consistent battery life of 7-8 hours of usage but I’m still noticing the upper right corner of the phone gets warm. Not as hot as during the earlier betas but still warmer than usual, anyone else?

Sloppy release. Poor beta testing. Hopefully it was Apple not listening or correcting feedback timely

The HEIF bug for Burst Photos is existing in iPhone 8 Plus as well. Now it's really confirmed that this is a software bug.

Here in Australia not much people line up to buy the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. I myself will not buy it. I played it for 10 minutes can't see much difference with my current iPhone 7 Plus. The 3D touch stutter is also existing in iPhone 8 Plus... i showed it to the store owner, he said it's weird that iphone 7 plus with 10.3.3 (store model) is much fluid than the newly released iPhone 8 Plus with 11.0 (Store Model).

I had many failed attempts to restore back to iOS 10.3.3 from DFU mode, and now it finally worked. I'll be staying on that for quite awhile. 11.x, where art thou?

I just tried it on my iPP 9.7, as it has a physical button like your SE, and I definitely found it a lot more challenging to do so. I think I got it maybe 3-4 times out of twenty attempts.

I must admit I’ve never really seen the big deal on it since I very, very rarely open an app and decide to quit it 1/4 of a second later but I guess there’s something, I don’t know to how to say it, that provides a physicality? A solidity maybe when it does work? Not ragging on your desire for it - it probably ought to work.

I just found out that I had triple click enabled. No it is much faster, definitely a little behind iOS but it could only improve from here so pretty happy with it right now!


By the way, I'm trying to learn if this is an Apple Music bug...

I saw that a redditor had the option to turn on/off the alerts and notifications for new music and people following you in the exact same settings page:

It auto enables auto join again after some time and before I know I see WiFi connected. I hate that because it’s a slow ass WiFi network I’m on it affects my music that I’m streaming. It eventually leads me to turn WiFi off completely.

May I ask why you don't just forget that WiFi network and never worry about joining it again, if it's so slow that you'd rather be on mobile data anyways?

Faced some really weird bugs today wrt calls and music. Was listening to music on the music app when a call came. Picked up the call and lo! The music was booming in the earpiece speaker along with the other person speaking. Tried to put it on loudspeaker but the audio did not route through the loudspeaker as well although the icon was lit. Had to disconnect call and reboot. This Has happened thrice since then.
Is anybody else facing this too? Any advice?
 
Guys i uptaded via itunes to my iphone 7. A lot of frame drops and lag happening. What about clean install? If i did clean install, would all frame drops are gone?

Yes, that is the new normal. The dark bluetooth icon now indicates that Bluetooth is on. When it’s connected to something, it will change to headphones or other icon that corresponds to what it’s connected to.

Periodically, links from the Safari dont send to the group via iMessage. Phone restart helps.
iPhone SE updated via iTunes (without restore).
Does someone has similar problems?

I’ve had a fair amount of odd things like that with iOS 11 and a restart usually fixes them. I hear an update will drop next week and I’m praying it cleans a lot of this stuff up.

That said, I know a restore through iTunes has helped quite a few folks. Just don’t restore from backup on iTunes. Either setup as new, or restore from iCloud backup once you’ve restored the phone through iTunes.

I hope that made sense.
 
multitasking not working. when i open 2 screens and try to tap on the dash on top of 1 one screen. nothing happens and caused the ipad to freeze

Tapping doesn’t seem to do anything. You have to “flick” the dash either up or down (I find down easier than up).
The freeze is odd though.

Anybody having an issue on 11 where speed on WiFi isn’t consistent? I run a speed test on same server with my 7+ and iPad Pro 10.5. The iPad Pro is consistently around the same speed (which is limit of my connection). The iPhone 7+ is at half the speed.

When I turn on airplane mode off/on then I can get consistent results and full speed with the 7+. Weird.

Really? I'm happy now because if 3D touch stutter is existing in iPhone 8, thats mean its a bug or problem etc.

Whats about frame drops? Are they existing too?
 
not sure if this is the right thread or not but I have ios11 on my phone and I want to go back to 10.3.3 but unsure right now. How long does the pervious version continue to be "signed" for once the newest is released? Right now only 10.3.3 and 11.0 are signed. thanks

I went to Best Buy today and saw the exact same thing with their display iPhone 8 plus. The stutters with 3D Touch are still there for sure. I went back to 10.3.3 on my 7 Plus after the gm came out(I ran every beta from the first) hoping that it would be ironed in the gm..it wasn't. I like iOS 11 as a while, but some of the stutters and poor battery life(at lease for me) is what made me go back. The difference between 10.3.3 and 11 is very noticeable.

So I've now got an 8 Plus and have installed it from scratch - not from a backup of the 7 Plus. Unfortunately things are still weird with iMessage and my iMac. I get the iMessage on both, but only one of them actually gives an alert. If I'm near the iMac then it alerts, if I'm away from it then the iPhone alerts. Not sure whether it's a bug or a feature, now :)
 
BUG: On the GM with my iPhone 7+, after a few screen locks, the date and time disappears from the lock screen.
