Some apps, like the Music app, show a black screen for a split second on launch. Reminders app and some others as well. I reported this again. It was doing this in previous beta.

Overall, all our devices are doing better on beta 3. iPhone animations are improving plenty.

It’s definitively a bug, cause the search works only if you type the whole app name. And it still works if you turn on Siri suggestions, but people don’t need and want to see Siri’s suggestions.
For me and other users it’s hard to use the iPhone without spotlight. Siri is stupid and doesn’t help most of time

This has existed in every release since 11.0's first beta. It's been reported many many times. It's not a bug, it's designed functionality, and I think it's HORRID. Apparently it's the way Apple is dictating we use our phone, so who are we to question? I'm so sick of this kinda stuff they're pulling lately.

Remember the Live Photo bug from iOS 7. People say it’s not a bug when you listen to music, open the cam and the playback stops even if Live Photo was disabled. It takes 2 years until apple fix this with iOS 9.
It is a bug. Again, you can find apps with spotlight and disabled Siri, but only if you type the whole name.
The result for me is, i lazy and don’t use some apps which are behind the third site of my only folder. Apple Apple Apple

Live Photo wasn’t introduced until iOS 9 with the 6S...

Same on my wife’s Air 2. Much smoother. Sure next beta will be even better.

Smoother? So no stuttering for either of you when pulling down the notification panel when it reaches the bottom? No multitask stuttering when scrolling through your open app windows in the app switcher view? No frame drops or general slowness when swiping up from the dock and going into different apps from the app switcher view? No control centre stutter at all? Because that’s what I’m seeing on my iPad Pro 12.9 gen 2. It is god awful for me on here and hasn’t improved at all. Had none of this on 10.3.3. That felt like iOS 6 in comparison to all iOS 11 versions thus far.

Smooth enough for me on my 7+ and iPad Pro 10.5. Best beta yet to me.

I think some folks are more sensitive to frame drops, than others. I use my devices, so complete buttery smoothness isn’t an issue. That’s just not my number one concern. I do report the animation bugs.

It’s getting better with each build. It will eventually smooth out like iOS 10 did.

Multitasking view on my 9.7” pro still runs super choppy on beta 3, but perfectly smooth when reduce transparency is turned on. One has to wonder why they choose to use blurry transparency as a design decision when they seem to struggle to get it to run smoothly on generation after generation of hardware.

Never mind just tried again and now even reduce transparency stutters. Appears to be tied to invoking from the home screen vs from with an app, which animates smoothly. I guess it’s a “bug” but it seems janky frame rates are just to be expected anymore.

I guess I’m more on the sensitive side then because I can’t help but notice it, it’s so bad to me that I’m thinking of returning my iPad Pro. If it’s not as noticeable to some but is more noticeable to people like me then it’s still a big problem because if I’m seeing it then it still exists and is really as bad as I’m seeing it. And buttery smoothness is a big priority for me hence my frustrations with iOS lately. Mainly because I remember how buttery smooth it really was, especially on an iPad 4 running iOS 6 and an iPad 2 on iOS 4.2 and 5. We have ProMotion and all these faster processors but we’re still seeing these frame drops, that to me tells me how unoptomised iOS 11 is because it just highlights how bad it is even more. I just find it unacceptable because this never used to be the case with iOS. I wish I was like you guys and not see it though, but I always do. Maybe it will smoothen out in more point updates, it’s just frustrating to have to wait for a smooth experience when it should be smooth already is all.

The issue with System growing unmanageably when I try to sync a big playlist from my laptop is no better.

I never turn on reduce transparency as I don’t like the look of it, but yeah I definitely feel like the transparency bogs down the performance somewhat. It’s sad that we now have to cross our fingers and hope for smooth performance every update these days when it used to be a given on the latest hardware back in the day. I don’t recall anyone complaining about any lag or frame rate issues on the latest iPads or iOS devices back then (unless you were using older hardware at the time). Today, there is no excuse because there is more than enough power, even from 3 generations ago, to run iOS smoothly. The fact that it runs just as poorly on my brand new iPad Pro with ProMotion makes it even worse. All this jankyness and sloppiness is slowly turning me away from Apple and it’s sad for me to say really.

I understand totally and think it’s imporant that what’s important to you is addressed. I do report the animation bugs I come across in every beta. I want it to be smoother, just like you. Just keep reporting the bugs and hang in there. :)

Which phone do you have? If it’s a plus, can you rotate sideways and try to hit done?

3D Touch on the Settings app, then tap WiFi. This will launch the WiFi settings page, but will not search for available networks. Only opening the Settings app, then navigating to the WiFi settings will search for available networks.
You can also press the "other" option then cancel it and then it does search when launched via 3D touch.

So far 11.1 beta is much improved over 11.0.3 on my iPhone 7. No freezing so far and phone calls work fine!
