The 120hz screen increases your perception of the lag because the screen refreshes faste than usual, you see the glaring stutters far more then usual. An iPad Pro 10.5 will seem more stuttery than the 7 Plus despite having the same amount of stutters because of the refresh rate.I kept my 2nd gen Pro 12.9 on iOS 10 because it felt more stuttery than 7 Plus.

Funny. People said the complete opposite when the 10.5” and 2nd Gen 12.9” first came out and said the 120hz hid the stutters.

So which is it? Can’t be both.

When your frame rate is above 120 fps than the iPad Pro will be smoother than the iPhone and any jarring irregularities will be smoothed out. When your frame rate drops below 120 and goes to around 60 it will seem worse than on the iPhone 7 because the iPhone 7 is incapable of rendering above 60 frames per second. Basically iPhone 7 will not show some stutters because it is incapable of displaying beyond 60 fps.

I own a 144hz gaming monitor. I know how it works.

It actually is both. It did hide most of the stutters in iOS 10, although there were still some stutters in some apps I used. In iOS 11 though the stutters are present when interacting with the main parts of the OS, like swiping down notifications, multitasking in and out of apps (that is the worst one)... it is truly abysmal and runs more like 25fps at best. What this shows is that iOS 11 is an unoptomised, highly unpolished POS. All that processing power with a 120Hz refresh rate and your OS still lags? This isn’t just me and a few others here either, I see posts every day on reddit and other sites from people complaining about the same issues on their brand new iPhones. This latest beta may have solved some of the lag on those, I don’t know, I returned mine because it was horrible on there too. But on iPad it is just unacceptably terrible.

Is deleting apps slow for anybody else aswell? After pressing the X and confirming deletion it takes 2-3 seconds before the app deletes.

Not sure if anyone pointed this out yet:
Control center WiFi and Bluetooth toggle now turns off WiFi/Bluetooth (not just disconnect), however only on my iphone 6s. my iphone 7+ still does not completely turn off wifi/bluetooth. Odd

I have a 6s too and the control center WiFi/BT button behaviour is still the same (just disconnect)

It does seem a bit more polished but I really wanna see this home button lag get better

Everyone on the beta program who cares about this and hasn’t done so already should request (via the Feedback app) Apple implement a “Fast” click speed option above “Default” in this list, which also contains options for “Slow” and “Slowest” as this is directly affecting the annoying delay.

Does this update has KRACK fix? Or maybe 11.1 update would have different build number and have this patch?

Since homebutton delay bug seem still present, this cant be the GM version. Apple have to fix this, otherwise its proof for planned obsolescence so that iPhone X gestures seem to be faster than homebutton in product tests.

Until now iOs 11 is a complete mess. Instead they should have made iOS 10.4

Sadly the home button delay isn't a bug mate ... it's a "feature", a change in behaviour.

And it's awful, especially on iPhone 7 where on 10.3.3 the response between home button and close animation is instant.

All this mention of the home button has made me notice and reflect on it. I don’t like it. Now I’ll notice it every time

For what it’s worth I don’t think for a second that Tim would pass up a chance to influence an upgrade. And that’s a very irritating thought (and yes.. they’re allowed to do it. That doesn’t make it ok)

Can some please try this since I went back to 10.3.3 and I don't want to lose it since Apple isn't signing it anymore....

Set a new alarm, then swipe to the left to bring up the delete button, then press delete. In iOS 10 the alarm slides to the left and disappears cleanly. On iOS 11 as the alarm slides to the left and disappears there is this ugly red shard animation. Is that still present? I'm on a 7 Plus.

Weird Bluetooth issues persist in this build:confused:

1) Pair Bluetooth headset.
2) Go To: Settings/General/Accessibility/Home Button/& check Voice Control
3) Use Bluetooth headset to attempt Voice Control dialing. Tone will be heard in headset, Voice Control box will present, Voice modulation animation may/may not be visible, confirmation tone will be heard in headset, but phone will revert to home screen with no voice dialing.

Voice dialing IS possible when:

1) Siri is active; through Bluetooth headset
2) Siri is active & Home Button is depressed, OR

3) Siri is disabled, Bluetooth is off/disconnected, Accessibility/Home Button/Voice Control is checked, & Home Button is depressed.

This issue's been present since 11.0

Has anyone experienced this problem? Sucks that I can't use Bluetooth to bring up classic voice control without enabling Siri.

Oh wow, I hadn’t noticed that before but it’s still there!

WTF did Apple do to this iOS 11!

Still not fixed the CC transparency issue. I’ve had this since before the GM release of iOS 11 on my Air 2

Just tried it and made a video for you so you can see how it’s working on a 8plus. Hope it’s helpful

OTA update process seems to be bugged for my 6s. It showed me 1 minute remaining 1.5 hours ago. I’ve restarted twice.

still having some issues with this Beta:

- Touch ID is a hit or miss to unlock the phone. I have rest to unlock activated, but half of the times it doesn't even recognize my finger.

- Music controls are still broken in CC and the app. Sometimes it will get stucked at 0:00

-Glitches with notifications in NC.

I have been impacted by two major issues with the last couple of betas:
1. Skipping and dropouts when I play music on my 6s, both locally stored and streamed, Bluetooth and wired.
2. The amount of space taken up by System basically tripling whenever I tried to sync the big playlist I keep on my phone and iPad which had the effect of leaving me with no free space at all when I typically have between 9 and 11gb with my music loaded.

With the new update I can report that the second issue is 100% resolved. Both my devices are fully loaded. System is at less than 7gb and I have enough free space.

I haven’t had the chance to test the first issue because I haven’t driven anywhere in my car and I mainly listen to music from the iPad at home, which never had any playback glitches.

I think I might lay off loading the betas for awhile and get my updates with the masses.

Reachability not working on my iPhone 7 Plus. I installed iOS 11.1 beta 4 in yesterday. I double tap on home screen button but nothing happens.

Thank you for the video. In this video it seemed to be just fine. I prefer the old animation but at least in the video it doesn't look jagged. I'm not sure if it's because you're on an 8+ or the recording speed itself isn't fast enough, but it does look fine to my eyes. Thanks!
