The whole calculator bug is beyond annoying. Not because the calculator is broken. It's a calculator, for gawdsake. But besides the fact that is a calculator (and the obvious question: how does one screw up a calculator app?), it's a symptom of a much larger issues. The fact is, the caculator has had this data entry bug since the first iOS 11 beta... and here we are at 11.03 and 11.1 beta 5, and it's still broken. Either Apple doesn't care, or they just can't manage to fix the basic stuff... it's hardly a reason justify a to jump to Android or Windows 10, but it still makes no sense... it's as if Apple just doesn't care...

Ok so here's what I noticed about the home button/multitasking lag. If you have an accessibility shortcut enabled (3 presses on the home button) pressing the home button will not be as fast as doing it without a shortcut. If you have an app in a folder and you leave the app by pressing the home button then double press to enter multitasking while the folder is still open, the folder will close first then multitasking will appear ONLY if you don't have an accessibility shortcut. If you have one enabled you will never see this animation that delays the app switcher. Try it out
Also unlocking the phone while using maps for GPS is super slow

Macrumors just published a story on this. It’ll be fixed by 11.2 now.

I'll believe it when I see it.

To quote the article:

Apple seem to be aware of the issue, because as The Loop points out, Apple employee Chris Espinoza says more than 70 people have filed a Radar report on the bug, alerting Apple to the problem. With it receiving so much attention, we could potentially see a Calculator fix in the next iOS 11 update.

And I'm calling B.S. on this article... there's no way that, with thousands of users running both public and developer versions of the beta release, that ONLY SEVENTY PEOPLE reported it to Apple via the Feedback process? This is plain and simple B.S. spin. Period.

Apple hates articles like these. They bring negative attention to the company and they tend to rapidly fix issues that companies bring to the forefront.

My phone is getting really hot with Beta 5 and it starting to lag again. Every time is starts to heat up, everything slows down and freezes. Its heating up around the camera area.

iPhone 6s here.

Diverting attention away from the issue by calling it a first world problem doesn't make you correct.

I'm done arguing about this. Those of us concerned about the delay will continue to ask about it in future iterations of these threads until it is fixed, and nothing you say can change that.

Meanwhile, my life will be infinitely more stress-free because I'm just grateful I get to have an iPhone.

Was your dry cleaning delivered on time? Is that why you're cranky?

Like emojis. Really shows who they're targeting.

They aren't "targeting" anyone. They are simply "supporting" the latest emojis as defined in the consortium.

Targeting, as you call it, is what Apple and Microsoft do with their operating systems instead.

I was going to say mindless morons. But sure, that works too.

Mindless morons? Would you really, truly have the required spheres to say that to a group of people in front of you or are you that freely expressive only in the comfort of the passiveness of forums?

:D

(and the obvious question: how does one screw up a calculator app?)

Emulate Tim's voice: "..only Apple could do this.."

anybody still experiencing excess heat around camera on this build? i'm on iPhone 7plus 256GB (15B93)
I’m getting heat that seems to be emanating from around or just below the camera.. but I’m on 11.0.3. I was hoping the next upgrade I do would fix it. iPhone 7

iPhone 6s bug: homescreen sometimes functions as if it were in landscape mode but there is none on the regular!
also, control center swiping up while in landscape can sometimes but ultimately crash and restart the phone.
