iOS 11.1 Beta 5 Bug Fixes, Changes and Improvements

Here is an interesting bug. While listening to a sideloaded audiobook, in task switcher, in portrait it shows correctly, if I go back to the home screen, rotate to landscape and double click home, the previous book is displayed.
  • Selecting it will bring the current book up.
  • Closing ibooks and reopening does not change this preview image.
  • Restart iPhone does not change this behavior.

Not in the beta, but these are definitely bugs that need to be addressed. My mail gear when pulling down to refresh frequently doesn't spin and stays at the top. Also, disappearing home screen with nothing but background. That's in addition to my volume buttons intermittently not working and phone has to be restarted to get them working again.

You mean you are not on this beta or that those bugs are not? Confused.
 
YouTube videos will not play in-line on any site other than YouTube. When browsing forums and such, they only play full screen or not at all.

Tested on multiple different types of websites.
 
I seem to have an issue not noted much in this beta. The keyboard lags considerably on my iPhone 6S+ 64GB model. When typing, it will randomly freeze for 1-2 seconds and resume at rapid speed, only to freeze again a few seconds later and repeat this. I've tried restarting the device and the messages app numerous times. This issue was resolved two betas ago, but has now come back in this beta.

Anyone else having this issue?

Another bug! (iPhone 7+ 11.1 b5) updated since i cant upload my screen recording somehow

1. Go to settings app
2. perform "search" function within the settings app - to be specific search "Auto" - tap enter
3. press home buttonto go back to home screen leaving the search results in settings app as it is
4. perform 3D touch shortcut on settings app (it will not work)

I wasn’t able to reproduce that, maybe it only happens sometimes.

Works fine for me - ip7+ 11.1b5

I can confirm this. You can 3D Touch on the Settings app, but choosing any of the options will not take you to the corresponding choice.

The native mail app establishes very slow connection with mail servers and takes long time to update / fetch the mail accounts. It continues to display "Checking for Mail" at the bottom of the Mail App Home Screen for a very long time even while remaining connected on fast WiFi network.
However, on the same network connection, and for the same mail accounts the updation / fetch happens very fast when on iOS 10.3.3 (14G60) and earlier version of iOS.

Works fine on my 8+ 11.1 beta 5

I think you’re confused about the bug. The bug isn’t that what you had searched for previously shows up in Settings at the top, it’s that after searching for something in Settings and then closing the Settings app results in the 3D Touch shortcuts not taking you to the corresponding Settings page, but instead takes you to the main Settings pane.

Possibly the best battery life I’ve ever gotten out of any iPhones I’ve had, iOS 11.1 B5 has been excellent!
