Seems like Apple have made some modifications with 11.2.2 regarding slowing phones down, like 6s. My 6s has a not so good battery (2 years old). My 6s was affected by the very well know syndrome of slowing phones down to solve battery problems by making the hardware slower.

Now, with 66 prcent battery, my phone died. Which is just as Apple said it would happen without the workarounds

I also read that other people are complaining about ”real bad battery performace with IOS 11.2.2”.

For me it seems like Apple somehow has decided to stop slowing phones down. Maybee not in full, but with a compromise, and that could be why people are experiencing sudden shut downs and draining batteries with older iphones on IOS 11.2.2.

-Just my speculation.
You could be right tbh. They’re probably experimenting

If I’m on beta 4 of 11.2.5 how would I downgrade to 11.2.2 official without losing data? My first attempt failed and it stated I need to reset device.
Download the 11.2.2 IPSW file. Then in windows iTunes shift/update and browse to the file you downloaded. Or the mac equivalent I think option/update or whatever the mac version is :) Be sure to select UPDATE not restore.

Only thing I didn’t do was manually download.. I let Apple do that for me with iTunes. I’ll try tomorrow at work!

My battery has never been as good on any iOS 11 version as it is on iOS 11.2.2. For both my iPad Pro (approx 15-20% degradation each) and my iPhone 7.

What’s been the least problematic iOS 11 version for you guys?

I had great luck with 11.2.1 in every respect. 11.2.2 has broken notifications on my iPhone 8 (the iPhone 7 still works fine, oddly).

I ran GB4 on the 7 and 8 I'm using and there is no real difference - a little faster. According to the notes, the patch only affects Safari.

Tried again on work pc and all happy after an attempted data recovery which succeeded!

Thanks!

New iOS 11 feature or available on older devices also?

When using cut, copy, paste, lookup, instead of having to tap that tiny button on the end, I am able to swipe left and right on the functions to go to next and previous options. It’s so much easier!!! Could we get to do this previously? Or is it an iOS 11 feature?

P.S. if any macrumors editors are reading this, I’m not able to upload a single video from an iOS 11 device since the extension is not compatoble

That's not new in iOS 11. Not sure when it was added.

I have the impression my iPhone SE eats the battery since this update. Anyone else?
You are correct, same here. But you’ll be told it’s all in your head. I went back to 11.2 I don’t plan on installing unknown apps or profiles so I’ll take the minimal chance with security
