my X was slow and clunky on this update , battery not bad but not amazing. I deleted the TV app and the difference is night and day.

Might be a fluke or a rogue app, but i did reinstall beta twice, so doubt its that.

a lot smoother now and battery is much better
5 hours usage (no music) 25 hours standby 53% remaining battery

Probably a fluke , but makes you wonder!

So the Idiot Box finally decided to take revenge. Good thing it is still powerless against a Delete command. :D

Always do. Well aware of how to report issues and if/when to expect responses. Was simply stating the status since people were questioning others abilities to report issues. Lectures not really necessary.

I wasn’t lecturing you or anyone else, only recommending users switching back to beta 2 to report their experience if they had not already. My apologies to you if my post came off that way.

And I never recall anyone here, myself included, questioning other forum members’ abilities to report such issues.

It amazes me how some people take the internet so seriously.

Wow, shows how much I know. I’ve been leaving my apps that have a dark mode on those modes to make my battery last longer. :p

Don’t do that lol. I think that’s one of the reasons Apple chose to make everything whiter with iOS.... Another reason why the X needs a dark theme as darker colours are better for OLED battery life.

Any benefit (aside from the specter patches) going to 11.2.2 from beta 3?

Why do you say that? Any extra bugs on 11.2.2 over 11.2.1? I know there’s loads on Beta 3.
ok to be fair, 11.2.5 beta 3 is horrible so best to go back to 11.2.2 its much more stable my only complaint is a lag swipping pages etc but else where its much better than 11.2.5 i really hope it gets better with time

Horrible?

Not horrible for me. Actually, 11.2.5 beta 3 has been one of the best iOS 11 betas so far.

i just think 11.2.5 has no new features so for the bugs its worth going back to public 11.2.2 so it will not have bugs just the laggyness needs fixing hopefully 11.3 i just wanna see my £1150 run frame rates perfect a lot of the time swipping to widget page has a jugger

11.2.5 is a bugfix release basically, no new features are really expected. The fact that the betas can be somewhat buggy can certainly lead various people to go back to stable (or never even go to a beta to begin with).

Brightness can certainly play a difference in battery usage, colors not really enough to be noticeable/meaningful on LCDs.

Makes sense, feel like I should’ve known this. Thanks!

Just deleted my TV app as a test (7 Plus here) and scrolled to my widget page and no more lag whatsoever. Could be a coincidence, but I’m not complaining. Haha But now I definitely wonder what exactly this app has been doing to slow our phones down like this.

Lol Lesson learned! Definitely makes sense now too. Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it! :D

My biggest gripe is the damn text ringtone volume. I can't even hear it. If I go into sound settings and move the sliding volume bar it resets to normal volume but goes back down the barely audible as soon as I go out of settings. Driving me insane

Someone explain to me what’s the point of these betas if they just keep making things worse by the time iOS 11 is stable iOS 12 will be out lol

Just stay on the public releases then. Geez. The amount of whining on here. Apple should make people do a coding test to make sure you even know how the development process works before you're allowed to install a beta.

well maybe if the stable verison was stable i wouldnt need to try betas, all i want is a £1150 phone to run smoothly its not so much to ask for, everytime apple updates ios more problems happen so i wanna try betas sorry if that doesnt make u happy

You will NEVER have everything work 100% no matter how much money you spent on it. It's impossible because humans aren't perfect. Unless you're coding something like "hello world", there will always be bugs. It's about stamping out the major bugs before worrying about some micro-stutter that some user thinks is ruining their life because they can see it.

I’ve lost text message tone sounds..... completely. Ringtone for phone calls is ok.
Known issue throughout the thread. You can go into settings>sound and select a sound for say, new mail. Or just slide the slider volume up and down. It seems if it was 1/2 way down or so is when it would bug out. Anyway trying any of these options seems to make your sounds work again. Hopefully beta 4 coming today and will fix this issue with the system sounds.
