Mate, try again. The iPhone 7 and 7+ both use Intel chips for certain countries, and iirc, so does the iPhone X. So yeah, I'd suggest researching this stuff before making such claims.
And I’d do your own before talking down to someone, you’ll wind up looking foolish. Spectre/Meltdown are vulnerabilities in branch speculation on CPUs. No iPhone uses Intel chips as a CPU, and chips like modems don’t use branch speculation. So while your iPhone may have an Intel chip in it, it’s not the CPU. High performance ARM chips are vulnerable but patches have already been released for iOS to address/mitigate the problem.

Yeah, I know it's not the CPU. I was referencing the modems in the first place, but I could've done a better job clarifying, however. And yes, I know what Spectre and Meltdown are. I've done my fair share of research on those vulnerabilities.

Is this full update when available likely to have that new Battery thing that Apple mentioned recently after the news came out over them slowing older phones down

Anyone know?

Thanks

I can’t remember an iOS to receive this many updates so shortly after a major release.

11.2.5? Really? What is this, like the 7th or 8th update since iOS 11 dropped? What a complete mess. What is happening, Apple?

One year ago we hadn't even hit the 10.3 beta so not very far off track.

No, they skipped 2 update numbers (11.2.3 and 11.2.4). I assume Apple considers 11.2.5 to be more like the halfway mark to 11.3 which should release to beta testers a few or so days after 11.2.5 is publicly released to non-beta testers.

Also, iOS 10 got 3 major updates too. 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3. Unfortunately there was never a 10.4 to tide users over until iOS 11 dropped.

Getting great battery life on this beta. As an anecdote from tonight:

Yes Low Power Mode has been on, but it took 53 minutes to drop from 100% to 99%. I’m on an iPhone 7.

You do have to consider that they have a third device in the mix in the form of the X. Plus all the iPad variants. This is a big lineup for Apple.

iOS 10 wasn't really all that different as far as updates.

Does the latest beta still have the feedback app? Seems like once that disappears the full GM is close if not next.

When the build has no letter at the end, that's when we're close to a potential GM (if it's not the build they release already).

Took a bunch of video and photos yesterday on my 8+ and they all came out white. Only the audio came through. Anyone else have this happen?

Widgets not updating normally. Widgets glitching when opening the widgets page.
Strange. I have a regular set of 6 widgets that I always have and occasionally might have one or two others, and I haven't really experienced any of those type of issues, at least not to any more of an extent that something odd would occasionally happen somewhere on a rare occasion, as it has with previous iOS versions and other iOS devices I've used.

weather widget still faulty for me.
Weather app says 0 degree celsius while widget says 2 DC.

I hope they bring up another beta that also fixes the safari issues.

I have 10 widgets I use daily (I’m a big fan) and they all function normally. The only hiccup I’ve ever had with a widget on iOS 11 was my Vantage calendar, but that was app specific and the developer corrected it shortly after it was reported.

I’m not sure if mine are operating per Apple’s design, but I have never liked how the widgets will not update until you scroll down to one. Seems like they should all update as soon as move to the widget page (if not auto-update in the background).

Couldn’t agree more...I think it looks highly amateurish, and quite frankly, really naff!
