What the hell did they do to TouchID? It was bypassing the lockscreen and going to directly to home on Beta 3. Now I have to click the home button once to turn on the display and again to bypass the lockscreen just like the FaceID swipe on the X. They really are gimping every aspect of the home button.

How's the battery life? Can it get the same battery life as a phone with a years less battery wear and a far more efficient processor now? I sure hope so.

So are we really not getting iCloud messages in 11.2? If not it doesn't seem like it's coming until Spring.

Have you checked in the Accessibility settings to see if that option hasn't reverted back to default? Don't remember what was the name of the setting though.
Rest finger to unlock is on but it still requires 2 clicks to go to home screen

Question is why is the battery life HALF that of the newer phone with a SMALLER battery when all battery wear apps show the battery at 99% health

It's weird. It's almost like the CPU is different. A real head scratcher.
And yet magically iOS 11 suddenly caused the A10 Fusion chip to suddenly become half as efficient. Went right from 12 hours on iOS 10 to 6 hours on iOS 11. Theres that awesome Apple optimisation at work here

Have you tried turning it off and then on again? Hard reset?
Did a hard reset. It still needs 2 clicks

Go Settings/General/Accessibility/Home Button/ and enable rest finger to open. That should do it!

I tested it on my 7 with Rest to Open on but doesn't require me to press home at all to unlock
What should I do now? Reinstall using ipsw? I did a hard reset and even reregistered my fingerprint. Its requiring 2 clicks to go to home screen.

Try toggling Raise to Wake.

Chaz,

Did you upgrade to beta 4 yet? Wondering about the phone app. It introduced itself here on beta 4.

Restoring now.
What do you mean by an unresponsive phone app? The phone hangs when you open it or is the app itself unusable?

The app itself hangs.

Phone app working fine on mines viewing visual voicemail, editing contact details, making calls and viewing recent calls.
Thanks. Funny thing is, didn’t have it on beta 3.

Just updated, phone app and VVM all working great here. Bummer it was introduced for you in this beta.

Phone app is unusable. Once it opens, it will hang for 10-20 seconds when tapping on any tab, sometimes it will completely crash, visual VM broken during this time. Restore was required for me in beta 3 to rid of the issue.

Found the issue. In TouchID settings the option to use TouchID for phone unlock had disabled itself. Turned it on and it’s back to normal. Phew.
So that was disabled, yet you just had to click twice to get into your phone...without entering your passcode?

Thanks. Did you just do an erase all contents in iOS? Tried that and no go. Going to try through iTunes.
