What the hell did they do to TouchID? It was bypassing the lockscreen and going to directly to home on Beta 3. Now I have to click the home button once to turn on the display and again to bypass the lockscreen just like the FaceID swipe on the X. They really are gimping every aspect of the home button.

Rest finger to open is now ‘click once’ to open for me, iPhone 8+

initially was not getting visual voicemail on iPhone X... did a hard reboot and made the issue worse as my phone app would open up to a blank screen.... put it in airplane mode for 5 min and everything started working again.

My God... need to get you using an X and then MAYBE you'll be satisfied with how the home button works!

I got a respring on opening Music app for first time on iPad Pro 9.7

The Battery button in Settings now turns blue when it is selected.

Still annoying layout issues in Music, iTunes Store, and App Store. Some I have been reporting for years!

There is now a status bad showing vm transcription status. Is this new?

Chaz,

Did you upgrade to beta 4 yet? Wondering about the phone app. It introduced itself here on beta 4.

Restoring now.

Some folks had success just toggling airplane mode for about 30 seconds, then back off. Hoping this doesn't become even more widespread before Thanksgiving break.

Ok, toggling Airplane mode for 30 seconds worked. Thanks @Chazzle. Phew!
Same here. In beta 3 I had to reset all settings to get it back working. This beta a simple toggle of airplane mode fixed it. Still delay in settings>phone though.

What sort of delay are you seeing in Phone Settings?

Is it me or have the iOS 11 betas been a lot more painful than iOS 10 betas were?

It feels like they're digging a lot deeper into the code with these betas than they did with 10. Most issues with 10 betas were cosmetic and quickly fixed.
I feel the same, however when you realize they've had to upend sooo many taken-for-granted low-level aspects of the OS for the iPhone X, it makes a lot of sense. Things like Face ID and even something seemingly simple like 'swipe up to go home' probably necessitated huge redesigns of entire components of the OS. And I think they've also been so focused on getting all the new X stuff to work as well as possible (it's a massive launch under a lot of scrutiny so makes sense) that ALL non-X iPhone code kind of suffered a bit from being deprioritized too.

It's definitely getting better in 11.1 and 11.2 but not quite there yet. But I think they'll get there once the X settles into the lineup a bit more and the inevitable onslaught of early issues subsides. I think it's starting to.

I have message forwarding set up to an iPad and am no longer receiving any badge notifications on the messages app icon for new messages. I receive the forwarded message on the iPad from my iPhone, but never get the red circle notification on the app icon on the iPad. I've tried turning notifications off and on for messages and tried turning off and on the Badge App Icon setting and restarted. Also removed and re-set-up message forwarding. Nothing seems to fix it. Anyone else seeing similar behavior??
