iOS 11.2 Beta 5 Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Weather widget has been working for me (haven't seen any weird behavior).

VVM is still not working for me. (Toggled Airplane mode on for 30 sec too).
 
Since I was a rampant victim of the VVM bug (which I was finally able to correct on beta 4 after multiple restores), I’m downloading now so everyone wish me luck.

I really hope this addresses the battery drain i was getting on Beta 4! Nothing has changed recently except the iOS version and something was kicking the **** out of the battery on my 7 Plus.

Take a look at this, anyone able to replicate it?

Also comparing them to official pictures on the Apple site this technique zooms the live wallpaper out further than it shows on the official images.

3 months and iBooks still can’t share text snippets with 3rd party apps. Time to go Kindle?

I’ve noticed this happening a lot. Only it’s the same city for me as I don’t travel. Weird that it updates just fine on my watch.

By the way, I've also had problems with the weather widget not updating on 11.1.2 so this isn't a new bug in 11.2 beta.

I removed the weather widget because bad information is worse than no information. I hope they fix it before 11.2 final is released.
 
Home button delay fixed? I know there was the ruckus earlier but that post only said they didn't expect it to be fixed...


Can anyone confirm?
 
Happy to report no VVM bug for me (at least for now) and no phone app lag. No toggle of airplane mode or reset necessary.

Not sure if this is because of beta 5 or my eventual success with several resets and restores on beta 4.

If the Weather widget is working for you and has consistently, perhaps we could compare configurations to see if it's a setting (as some have suggested)?

What's your Location Services setting for Weather and what's your Background App Refresh settings for Wifi and Cellular as well as is BAR enabled for Weather?

I will note that I installed Beta 4 as new and didn't change any settings on my iPhone 7 and still had/have the issue.

phone app still buggy. When i click on the phone it doesn't display anything. For it work, i have to swipe up and hold the app as if i was going to close it, and then it stars working.

iPhone X by the way
 
Hoping this beta fixes the app freezing. So far so good. Really smooth and snappy so far on 6s plus.

Close the phone app then toggle AP mode for 30 sec. Sometimes that solved in in b4.
 
Widget bug it's fixed for me but "Shuffle" Button in Music app still broken I can't disable it, the only whay to stop shuffle mode on music it's saying to Siri "Disabale Shuffle Mode" but if I tap "Next Song Icon" shuffle mode it's enable again, I'm very upset with this issue. Pretty Annoying

Every app on my phone has location set to 'while using,' and every system service is turned to on. Every app on my phone has background app refresh turned on. I also have an Apple watch with the weather widget on the face. All three are synced always. And yes I drive between multiple cities during the day, everyday.

Ugh....
Home button delay will not be fixed. Battery issue? I have way worse than you (2 hrs max for a single charge).
 
Still having visual voicemail bug. As long as i delete and clear the voicemails out of the phone app everything seems to work fine. If I don't delete the voicemail it causes the phone app to be slow and visual voicemails disappear. Only way to get everything working properly is to switch to airplane mode for 30 seconds and delete all visual voicemails.

I was able to replicate that “bug” on my iPhone X running 11.1.2 on the old live wallpapers.
