Regarding VVM issue, placing in Airplane mode alone did not work for me after 30 seconds. I turned off both Wifi and Airplane Mode and VVM came back up for me.

I had the problem once back about B3. Just called my VM system once, hung up and VVM came back as good as new... no issue with B4 or B5.

So I have Weather set to Always and Background App Refresh set to Enabled for Weather. I do have several system services disabled but I've had them enabled for several hours in the past to see if it would fix this but it has not.

iOSBry
Same here. And I had reverted back to 10.3.3 a few weeks back and it started working again perfectly with same settings. Upon update to iOS 11 it came back to random updates. So far today, since updating to beta 5 it has been updating every time.

Check out that ignore button. I haven't seen a battery or home button complaint from a certain someone in weeks and it's glorious. All of the responses to the ghost posts are nearly as bad.

Loving the ignore the ‘one trick tester’ button.

I actually quite like the stock weather app as I can easily see all the cities I frequent most often. I'm not really complaining about it, just writing down my observation of the issue instead of saying the widget is 1 degree off of what the app shows. I could care less if it's a few degrees off or not updating all the time. I look at the app once in the morning and maybe at night, that's about it.
Yeah but the whole point of a widget is so you don't have to open the app. If you cant count on the data being correct especially weather, then may as well turn off the widget and just use the app to start with. No, not the end of the world but if they are going to have a widget available for their app it should work otherwise its completely useless.

I also notice in this beta that the attention awareness features for lowering the volume when you look at your phone no longer work. On an iphone X. Went from 11.1.2 to 11.2 beta 5.

This has never worked for me for reducing sounds, like iMessage, while looking at the screen but does work for not dimming the screen while looking at it.

It’s worked for me up until this beta. Hope it comes back. I enjoyed having my ringtone volume lowered when I picked up and looked at my phone.

Have you done a reboot? (Vol up, vol down, then press and hold the side button)

A reboot generally fixes small things like that after an update.

Ringtone/alarm sounds dim on my 10 and have through all five 11.2 betas.

Its not the GM because the build has a letter at the end.

I have background app refresh disabled but weirdly my usage time racks up even though I am not using the device much in the last couple of days. I am going to try and use the device as normal and see. Its not just my phone though. NBKindagirl has 91% battery health and is barely getting 5 hours of usage which is much worse than what I get so at least it isnt that bad

I have background app refresh disabled and auto brightness on and other settings changed to try to extend battery life and it’s still pretty bad. Thinking about starting everything over before going to this beta. And then cut down on the apps I have installed and also my Safari usage. Could be one of those things causing the drain.

I really hope this addresses the battery drain i was getting on Beta 4! Nothing has changed recently except the iOS version and something was kicking the **** out of the battery on my 7 Plus.

Same here! I’m thinking resetting everything and setting up my phone as new (also a 7 Plus) and starting this new beta as a fresh install. I’ve already gotten rid of FB and Messenger apps, recalibrated the battery, changed tons of settings, and I’m still not getting the best battery life at all. But that’s a whole different story for a different time and thread.

So now that we know beta 5 is out, should we expect the final version of 11.2 to come out next week? They need to release it ASAP, 11.1.2 is an absolute mess

There might still be another beta, or there might not be and the final might be out in two weeks, or it might be out later than that, or perhaps earlier than that...no real exceptions essentially, just guesses.

More than likely two more weeks until it’s officially released. Next weeks build will probably drop the letter at the end of the build number, this weeks ended with an “a”. When it does that typically means that’s the release version, then usually the following week it’s released to the general public.

Did you try a 'reset all settings' yet? I would do that before starting over totally. That quite possibly will help and certainly worth doing before going nuclear.

The thing that concerns me is that if you read a number of accounts of this bug, you will see that peoples experiences are all over the map. I was shocked today to see that it is still in the beta 5 release. That makes 3 releases. I don't see how 11.2 is anywhere near ready to go at this point.
