I’d say your battery life is actually quite good, considering your iPhone usage is 95% of your total battery, and the apps you’re using are battery intensive (i.e. personal hotspot on a MacBook Pro for 5 hours, Sonos for 2 hours, Safari for 1 hour, etc.).

To be honest, I’m surprised your phone hasn’t melted down yet.

It may seem good. But since i took it off charge when i arrived at work (charged in the car on the way and it was at 100% when I arrived) the 5hr 35:

4hrs 45 on Personal Hotspot
35 mins on Waze (on the drive home and I didn't plug in)
Remaining in use time was split between WhatsApp messages a couple of emails and Twitter.

The remaining time is over the last 24hrs and it has been charged since I used Sonos and Safari.

Although it may seem good given the apps used, compared to iOS 10 I'm down around 20% with the same usage.

This is where I am currently and I’ve hardly used the phone in the last couple of hours (even though the usage says otherwise).

Carl.

Based on what? I gave 0014 my opinion on their battery stats, but you’re countering my opinion with a baseless fact. If what you say is true, please cite your sources.

Otherwise, please stop confusing this forum and its users with unverified information. We get it: You hate the battery life on your iPhone.

In addition, 0014 stated their iPhone is a 7+, not an 8+.
Battery life on an 8 plus.

I’m thinking that the Visual Voicemail/laggy Phone app issue is caused by the voicemail transcription feature. I’ve noticed that I do not get a voicemail notification until the transcription has completed, sometimes 15 minutes later. Your experience adds further credence to my theory.

It's very possible. I noticed if I delete all voicemails I have no problem. If I listen to one and leave it without deleting I start having phone app issues. My transcribed voicemail has always had a long delay.

I bit the bullet and upgraded from 11.1.2 on iPhone X. Is the clicking sound when swiping up from the control center a bug or new feature?

I have the clicking noise as well when i swipe up from control center and dismissing reachability. There is more info in this thread that someone posted.

So far, the weather widget has changed locations with me. I'll have a better idea once I head back to my place after work (and thus change geographic locations again).

It's a distinctly lighter vibe when hitting the app switcher on this beta on the X.

Wasn’t working at all until I toggled system haptics.

Dismissing Control Center and reachability makes a loud tick sound.

I toggled System Haptics and it didn't get any stronger. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just different from what I previously had. I have no tick/click when dismissing CC.

Enough with the "home button delay" The home button is used for double and triple taps, and therefore will never be instantaneous. Been like that since at least iOS 6.

Nope, wrong. There is literally video proof conparing iOS 10 to iOS 11, and there is definitely a delay in iOS 11.

Don't bother posting unless you've done the research yourself and know what you're talking about, neither of which are the case for you.

That being said, can anyone confirm or deny if the delay is gone?

Delay is still there

This beta feels like an improvement on my device. I did have the Voicemail bug immediately after update but was fixed with the airplane mode toggle and hasn’t resurfaced.

Feels smoother overall and I’m having a better experience with 3D Touch Peek and Pop which was inconsistent for me on the prior betas. No system lockups like I had previously.

I received a response from Apple Dev Team yesterday regarding a bug report I sent in a couple of weeks ago that stated there are fixes in this build that should fix the system crashes I was experiencing.

iPhone 7 here

I'm pretty sure this is not my imagination, but after installing beta 5 on my X, I'm finding that swiping up to unlock is failing sometimes. What I mean is that when I swipe up (after Face ID has authenticated me), sometimes the screen drops back down again as if I haven't swiped up enough. It only started doing it after updating from beta 4 to beta 5 last night. I'm wondering if they've changed the sensitivity of the display.

Either that or I am swiping it wrong :)

My iPhone 7 has no delay. For
Those who claim there is a delay compared to iOS 10, my contention is the “non-delay” in iOS 10 was a bug similar to the “no-animation” hack that was fixed in iOS 11.

What bug are you referring to?

I see. Really hoping this delay is fixed in 11.3... doesn't look like 11.2 is going to fix it.

11.3 is my last hope. If it's not fixed there it won't ever be fixed. Funnily enough my iPhone X is arriving the same time as iOS 11.3 Beta 1 launches. It will be a very happy day indeed if they fixed it and the X arrives at my doorstep.

I have confirmed that the weather widget is not updating correctly on iOS 11.2 beta 5.

Notice the current time of day, and then notice the forecast for the next few hours; it starts at 22:00 (which was last night when it was still updating) rather than at 12:00 like it should given the time. Yes, background updates and location are enabled for the Weather app.

This is frustrating; why won't Apple fix this?? It's a BUILT IN APP. They have all the code. It's not like this is a problem with a third party app which would be hard to figure out.

EDIT: Another thing is the icons don't even seem right given the time of day. We're talking the sun being out at 01:00 in the morning during a thunderstorm. (Which wasn't even the actual forecast for last night)

I think I've noticed this occasionally as well.

Have you done a reboot? (Vol up, vol down, then press and hold the side button)

A reboot generally fixes small things like that after an update.

Ringtone/alarm sounds dim on my 10 and have through all five 11.2 betas.
Did a reboot last night. Just powered down the phone and powered back up and all seems to be working as intended. Thanks!

FIIIIIIRST WOOOOOORLD PROOOOBLEEEEEEM.

How old are you? Were you around when dial-up Internet was a thing? You know NOTHING about delays. Quit your whining.

Can anyone confirm whether the X has the data activity spinner in the top right status bar? I've yet to see that one running the latest official release whereas I saw the circle spinner on my other phones 247 for most tasks.
