Enough with the "home button delay" The home button is used for double and triple taps, and therefore will never be instantaneous. Been like that since at least iOS 6.

Nope. The iPhone 7 home button was instant on iOS 10. I have proved it by Video.

I just can’t help answering flat out incorrect statements so don’t gang up on me lol

Widget bug it's fixed for me but "Shuffle" Button in Music app still broken I can't disable it, the only whay to stop shuffle mode on music it's saying to Siri "Disabale Shuffle Mode" but if I tap "Next Song Icon" shuffle mode it's enable again, I'm very upset with this issue. Pretty Annoying

After reboot the iPhone 7+ and erase iCloud Music Library, "Shuffle Button" work again.

Actually it was introduced as instant response on the iPhone 7/7+ on iOS 10 and it still is currently instantly responding on my 7 that is running 10.3.3 and I'm love every non delayed moment of it! :D

Is there a home button delay on the iphone 8? I went to an apple store once to see and both the 7 and 8 seem pretty ok to me.

No issues yet and I hope the battery life keeps improving. It has improved quite a lot but could still be improved to be back to where it was. I am on a 7.

Is it me but with every beta update my phone gets heavier?
the amount of electrons that consist of “1”s and “0”s can build up in your phone as you update and iOS gets bigger so it’s true, it is getting heavier my friend

Apple could install miniaturized nuclear reactor technology into these iPhones and people would still find a way to complain about battery life.

A bit off topic, but the answer to everyone’s issue of battery life isn’t going to be resolved until true wireless charging (Wi-Fi charging or the like) is ready. Imagine what a game changer it would be to have your iPhone almost always charging or maintaining a charge without having it plugged in or sitting on a charger.

Then issues with battery life caused by bad code will effectively not matter.

Haptic feedback not working properly on the X.

Doesn’t work when bringing up the App Switcher and doesn’t work properly when entering or exiting reachability.

Yes both 8 and 7 have it on iOS 11.

I have background app refresh disabled and auto brightness on and other settings changed to try to extend battery life and it’s still pretty bad. Thinking about starting everything over before going to this beta. And then cut down on the apps I have installed and also my Safari usage. Could be one of those things causing the drain.

Same here! I’m thinking resetting everything and setting up my phone as new (also a 7 Plus) and starting this new beta as a fresh install. I’ve already gotten rid of FB and Messenger apps, recalibrated the battery, changed tons of settings, and I’m still not getting the best battery life at all. But that’s a whole different story for a different time and thread.

This beta has the same battery life as Beta 4. Don't bother with a clean install for this update. iOS 11 is the problem here for all 7 Plus users.

Your wear level seems fine extrapolating my data onto yours. With 91% Wear and 140 more charge cycles you get around 5 hours of usage. If I use my phone moderately it makes it to 7 hours but by using Facebook and a ton of apps I could drain the phone 6 hours

what battery drain? what home button delay?

Already posted proof on the home button delay.

7 Plus still has bad battery life on iOS 11.2 Beta 5. Already confirmed by 2 renowned YouTube channels.

The 7 Plus gets even lesser battery life than the iPhone 8 which has a smaller battery than the iPhone 7 which has a much smaller battery than the 7 Plus.

The 7 Plus has been wrecked by iOS 11.

Any change on the the color calibration / white level on iPhone X display?

My battery life isn’t great on my 7 Plus. I use my hotspot for around 4.5-5hrs each day when in work. This is connecting my MacBook Pro to the phone.

Whilst on iOS 10 at this point in the daytime I would still be around 40%. Nothing has changed on the phone (no new apps etc) so the only thing that has changed is the iOS version. This battery performance has been the same through 11. Coconut battery says it’s at 95% and I’ve had the phone since the 7 Plus launched.

At this rate my phone will be dead by about the 7hr mark. I always put the phone in Airplane mode once home as the signal is carp (1bar) so I just use the Wifi.

One question I do have is how to stop the excessive background activity for WhatsApp? On the 7 day stat it shows as 1.5hr on screen and 2.5hrs background??? Background refresh is off (I know they’re different things) contacts is off and I manually backup.

I think battery life on iOS 11 is 60-70% of iOS 10 so you are not alone.

It‘s not like the iP8 and co. don‘t have different hardware. The A11 Bionic is way more efficient than the A10 Fusion, that‘s why Apple is able to shrink battery sizes but match/exceed battery life of past iPhones.

And the home button delay was done on purpose. Pretty sure average joes had issues double clicking for multitasking and co. I know, cause my mom and dad struggled heavily with their iP7s home button being too fast for multitasking.
Apple has to cater to these people too, they could‘ve probably come up with a more elegant software slider solution but it is how it is.

I’d say your battery life is actually quite good, considering your iPhone usage is 95% of your total battery, and the apps you’re using are battery intensive (i.e. personal hotspot on a MacBook Pro for 5 hours, Sonos for 2 hours, Safari for 1 hour, etc.).

To be honest, I’m surprised your phone hasn’t melted down yet.

Just like posters say you aren’t noticing it, the flip side is seeing things that aren’t there and using anecdotal evidence to support your position.

So I am imagining my iPhone lasting less than a day?
I am imagining my iPad home button being faster?

That would explain the iOS 11 battery life. The Bionic is brute forcing its way through while the older iPhones are left in the dumps.

I have given up on a fix for the 7 Plus. It's too late at this point

The iPhone 8 Plus with 6 hours of standby and 6 hours of usage has 80% battery left. That battery life is very bad actually

I don't know what your usage is
I have used iOS 10 for a year and with extreme usage it used to last at least till the evening and with moderate use well into the second day. Lasting into a second day is impossible on iOS 11.

nor if the home button is just confirmation bias.
It's very noticeable to me after I use my iPad running iOS 10. No bias in the slightest.

Sports tab added to the tv app, have not had a chance to play with it yet.

Based on what? I gave 0014 my opinion on their battery stats, but you’re countering my opinion with a baseless fact. If what you say is true, please cite your sources.

Otherwise, please stop confusing this forum and its users with unverified information. We get it: You hate the battery life on your iPhone.

In addition, 0014 stated their iPhone is a 7+, not an 8+.

Doesn’t mean your usage hasn’t changed slightly to account for the variance; or an app update went bad by the developer. There have been others reporting excellent battery life.

That does not disprove confirmation bias any more than “I’m not seeing what is there”.

So far, the weather widget has changed locations with me. I'll have a better idea once I head back to my place after work (and thus change geographic locations again).

It's a distinctly lighter vibe when hitting the app switcher on this beta on the X.
