I did not experience this and I use carplay every day of the week. I drive a Ford Escape. I do suspect that the different oem operating systems from different car manufacturers are typically the culprit.
I now believe it was the throttling of my old 6 Plus with a low battery design capacity had more to do with it. A lot of weird crashes disappeared when I got on the 11.3 beta. CarPlay is no longer a slug and works as expected. I knew it wasn't my head unit anyway because my wife's 8 never crashed it and worked quickly.

To be honest? Yes. The only thing I’ve noticed is I depleted my battery in a single day now, where I never did that before. In return you get a liquid smooth UI and faster face ID recognition.
And the mute switch does not vibrate when switch in silent mode, also system haptick doesn‘t work

Windows Updates? Apple Software Updates? Windows updates I’d look for drivers, I’d do anything under the Apple Software Updater, but be sure iTunes at least is up to date. I’ve noticed different behaviors of this trust message depending on if the device was locked or not when plugged into the computer, but that was before the latest changes to the security. Guess it’s entirely possible that whatever’s needed to make it work again is in the latest beta macOS/iTunes. The latest macOS beta messed up multiple drivers for me. A Dell W15 USB-C Dock was working for me with two displays, audio, Ethernet, USB. Now only audio and Ethernet work.
I would re-read the original post. He’s not having any issues with iTunes recognizing and syncing with his device, and he has a Windows PC, not a Mac.

How is the battery life for the X on this beta? I'm on 11.2.5 right now and it's not that great.

Does anyone have this problem where safari just stops loading and you end up with only a quarter of the page visible and the rest is just white?

I read it, and understood it. Drivers are needed for the phone to talk to the PC. These drivers would be installed with iTunes. I only mentioned my personal experience with my MacBook because it’s obvious that there were significant changes made, and to bring attention to this fact, so the OP is mindful of it.

Not sure what I’m doing wrong but my messages aren’t syncing properly across devices.

I have old messages up to 2011 on my iPhone but it’s not appearing on my iPad or MacBook Pro via iCloud messages.

I’ve toggled on and off and they’re still not appearing.

Any suggestions?
My new messages are syncing between my phone and laptop, but old messages aren't. For example, if a new iMessage comes in and I get it on both devices (as always), deleting it from one now deletes it from the other as well. Perfect. However, my phone only has messages going back 6 months (when I set it up as new for some reason) whereas on my laptop the messages go back a couple of years. These historical messages aren't being sent to my phone.

Not sure if that's a bug or intended behaviour, so I've not reported it. As lots of others have said already, it's a shame we can't see things that use iCloud to sync (e.g. iMessages and text shortcuts) actually on icloud.com.

Updated to 11.3 on my iPhone 8, and so far the biggest issue for me is that many of my books in the Books app are all disorganized. I keep them all in different categories and a bunch of them are kicked back into the main Books category, and can’t be moved from where they are. When I try to move them to a new category or even just manually move them within the Books category they snap back to where they came from. Definitely not a catastrophic bug by any means, just a big annoying!

8 Plus running great. Battery life is great. Smooth. I’ve made it to an Executive Liason with the speaker issue.

With performance throttling probably disabled on older devices in this beta, is there an improvement in performance on a 6 or 6s?

Good question. I’m running iOS 11.3 beta 1 and watchOS 4.3 and my messages on my watch aren’t syncing to my iPhone. Looks like iPhone, iPad and macOS for now.

Good to know , thank you for pointing it out .

Likely app specific but this has been a pretty annoying bug. Pops up every time I open the app.

Sometimes when I go to watch a video on YouTube, facebook, or even play music, the volume will have turned itself all the way up and be maxed out. Afraid my phone’s speakers are going to blow. Out of all the iOS betas I’ve done, this is the most frustrating and potentially harmful bug I’ve seen.

Improvement in performance but also decreased battery (at least on my 6s with 300 cycles battery).
