Seems like we are closing in on a release. It seems unlikely that we will see a iOS 11.4 before WWDC and iOS 12 BETA's so I suppose that means AirPlay 2 has been delayed until August-September with iOS 12?

I guess that's the reason Apple decided to launch the HomePod without essential features like Multi-room, Stereo-pairing etc as they seem to be linked directly with AirPlay 2 and they obviously didn't want to wait until iOS 12 in August/September as they already had tons of HomePod ready for selling.

Sounds like HomePod betas are coming soon.

Is there really a need for HomePod Developer BETA's? As there is no development kits or anything for the HomePod as it doesn't take or support apps or anything developed by third-parties? What would be the reason for giving developers access to early builds for such a locked-down device?

For macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS it makes perfect sense as developers are maintaining and developing apps for the platform. New API's and changes in the software stacks needs to be in the hands of developers beforehand so they can ensure their apps will be compatible and fully working with upcoming version and it gives developers the possibility of implementing and start playing around with new and upcoming API's before its officially released and in the hands of the users.

But none of this really applies to the HomePod.

iPhone 7, updated very quickly.

Small (very small) change: My "battery health," which previously measured 88%, now says 89%. (I've never really had a battery problem, although B4 was pretty bad over the weekend for some reason.)

For the first four betas of 11.3, public beta came a day after developer beta. But usually around the fifth or sixth beta of past iOS versions, the lag between developer and public beta shrinks to a few hours, as you say.

Maybe it depends on Apple's confidence in the stability of the beta version? I'd expect that if Apple is less confident, they delay releasing the public beta a day or two to see whether developers find significant issues. Does that seem plausible?

Public Beta 4 came out a few hours on the same day as the dev beta which is why they said they're expecting it soon.

You're right but maybe it's a sign that this is about to change and they're laying the groundwork for 3rd party HomePod services/apps? One can hope...

This beta still has issues with messages that is not being synced to iCloud. I did send a bug-report and got a reply from them. They wanted me to attach a sysdiagnose file which I did. However, does anybody know what they mean by "We also noticed that some of yours were still in a syncing state, so things should be better if you have a HSA-2"? What is HSA-2? See attached!

Updated my 7 Plus after a long time and the damn home button delay is still there. I wonder how people stand it. It’s unbearable especially after using the X. A perfectly good phone ruined.

on X - As soon as I unlock the phone, the 3D Touch does not work properly. Instead it goes into delete app mode. Anyone encounter this?
I have this on an 8 Plus. I'm wondering if there's an intentional delay added in to let the unlock animation finish before allowing 3D Touch.
