I don't own a pc, and this is my first iphone. Is it ok to just download everything from the phone without saving it to iTunes and then wiping it?

On android when a new version comes out, it's best to do a factory reset. Like from 7.0 nougat to 8.0 oreo. Not sure if this is ever necessary, but I'm more so wondering about going from ios 11 to ios 12. Should I be wiping my data or doing anything other than just downloading it from the phone and letting it replace the old version?

Generally nothing aside from updating is really needed. If you run into some sort of issues then perhaps reinstalling and perhaps doing it as new might be worth trying.

Since ios 11.3 sometimes touch input doesn’t work. I think i must press a little harder or wait for 2-3 seconds

fokmik, this was noticed pretty quickly in the beta versions and so is a known issue. Unfortunately still there.

It could be just me, but standby drain seems even better on 11.3.

Side topic, is anyone else experiencing distortion from earpiece speaker after updating? I have an iPhone X and was not experiencing this before yesterday. And it’s really bad almost unusable. Have to put calls on speakerphone which obviously can’t always do. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue?

The only issue I had among my 4 iDevices was the wifes iPad air. After updating it would not connect to wifi even though it showed the correct wifi network. I deleted the chosen wifi, did another search, joined the network (same one as before that didn't work) and all is well again.

Just updated iP7+ purchased 2016 Sep. Says battery health is 95% and operating at peak Not bad for a phone I charge every night to 100%.

Meh, DFU restored my 7+ Yesterday full discharged and charged to 100% “so far” battery life is unchanged from 11.2.6, really to me it just looks and feels like 11.2.6 all over again I haven’t noticed any change, except the keyboard it seems a little more inaccurate when tapping letters.

Not a new bug, but a bug change.
Have several accounts in stock email (gmail, msn, exchange, ...) - IPP 12.9 G2.

Used to happen: After reading an email in another app / device, the badge would seldom update the count and on opening the emails would show as unread until refreshed. Seen since 11.0

Happening now: Same issue except the emails will show as read when opening the email. - So, just the badge count is incorrect. Now with 11.3

I am experiencing the same. Iphone 7

Still no fix for duplicate search results in Settings app. I know it’s not the most important bug but how hard is this to fix?

Battery life is still amazing on my 8 Plus with 11.3...I’m at 6 hours and 10 minutes of usage with still 56 percent battery left! On the wireless charger it goes because it’s bed time!

For me the battery seems to be better on 11.3 public release compared to 11.3 beta 6 on my 6s plus.

Very smooth, stable and fast on iPhone 5s, but too much battery draining and heat-up...

Someone has tested 11.3 on an iPhone 6??? I am interested on it. But currently with a new battery I will only upgrade if it works at least like 11.2.6 (battery, speed and bugs).

I can read positive feedback in general if iOS 11.3. But none of them is specifically from iPhone 6. And nowadays someone can't take anything for granted.

In fact I won't upgrade to iOS 12 unless there are lot of positive feedback from users with iPhone 6.

Thanks a lot!!!!!

I’m on 6s plus and did fresh install with iCloud backup restore with a brand new battery replacement yesterday, but I don’t feel it’s that much faster than 11.2.6:(

I'm having kind of the opposite problem..... if I search in the search window at the top of the SETTINGS app, the ONLY results I get are app titles (and no duplicates). Searching for any settings items like for example "display" yields NO results.

This is a new (to me) iPhone 7 that was fully wiped, restored from my SE backup and updated to 11.3 yesterday. The SE that it replaced is also on 11.3 and DOES return results when you search for settings items.

Is this a bug or just a setting that I missed?

Paul

EDIT: After some Googling and reading..... apparently this is "a thing" and not unique to 11.3 specifically. Per other threads, reset all settings restores normal search behavior and I can report that in my case, as soon as I reset all settings normal search behavior was restored. I then reconfigured all settings manually instead of restoring from a backup.... just in case.

Not sure if it is related, but this iPhone 7 was originally wiped and then restored from my SE backup. From my reading in other threads, there may be a connection between this issue and restoring from a different phone (same OS version in my case).

Does it make any difference in performance speed if you set it up as new or restore from iCloud backup?

Here’s a new bug that’s happened twice on my 7. Only way to get rid of it is to power cycle. Kind of annoying.

Only way to close the control center is to hit the home button. But I just end up powercycling.

Yep I saw the app logo's super imposed on other apps and the same app logo showing up twice when freshly installed.

Apple has a way of doing things.. fix 2 things, break 1 and keep releasing newer version. At the end of the day, we get very few features that work better than previous version and we get bugs too..
